It is so beautiful Nigel. One of my favourite bonsai trees ever. Just amazing what you have created. Inspires me with my own trees. Thank you for your videos.
I love the amount of research work you have done before even considering chopping anthing. The final result shows why this approach is so beneficial. Thanks :)
What are the possible issues with yellow leaves in your case? Please tell us more about the conditions you have for your Serissa? As always, nice to see you Nigel, thank you for sharing all of this with the world!
This is likely my third favorite tree to watch you work on. Likely due to its level of development. 1) Banyan Schefflera 2) Frankenficus 3) Serissa It was awesome to watch you get intricate and detailed with this beautiful tree. Thanks Nigel!!!
I have to be careful watching your videos, Nigel. My eyes kept flicking to my Ficus R. while you were cutting, and the one big apex branch kept teasing me, until I had to pause you, get my scissors and snip it off. My plant is much smaller now, and looks MUCH better. You're truly an inspiration. 😀
A major influence on the shape of thorn trees is browsing giraffes. In an area of the Kruger Park in South Africa where there are plenty of both (giraffes and thorn trees), one finds very interesting shapes. Most trees, however, are not allowed to grow higher than browsing height. If they do, it can produce an hourglass shape!
awesome scissor sharpening lesson
the trunk is really mature now..
Sharp tools give you a nice clean cut with no tearing and leaving ragged edges. Nice sharpening stone to do the job with.
My goodness i love this tree it always looks amazing. Theres really not a "bad" front of this tree.
Had my serissa for over a year repotted into a better bonsai soil mix and it dropped every leaf. Fingers crossed it survives 🤞🤞
the trunk looks very old and beautiful branches very nice tree nigel
Thank you Nigel! I’ve been watching your videos for almost 10 years ♥️ you really make my day whether you know it or not! Thank you always!

Trick is to watch videos before bed, then too tired to prune 😂
24:45 sounds like you are trying to avoid saying “I want kinky branches”

Thanks for the sharpening tips. When does your serissa blossom?
Looks amazing nigel! But i still perfer the back as the front 😮😅
Will your serissa forest be getting a trimming too??
Any updates on the Root-over-rock Scots pine?
Never mind the bonsai. What’s up with the 911??

What is the name of software??
Will sharpening the flat side of the blades eventually lead to them not touching anymore?
That was my assumption, so I've only done the beveled side.
"If you moved it to far to the side [...] you would have to get rid of the rocks and the zebra"
Unacceptable!
