I lived in Halifax in the early 2000s. I LOVED it!! Beautiful, clean city, amazing people, and TONS to see and do. I shared a two bedroom apartment with an actor who would go on to play one of the cops on the Trailer Park Boys. Fantastic, great times...miss it VERY much!!
We loved Halifax, were there a few years ago. We also went to Pier 21 museum looking for details on my Dad who arrived from Greece in '52. I already knew the ship and have his passport that was stamped. They were able to get me some history but couldn't provide me detailed info because of privacy laws since he passed away within the last 15 years. Was happy with what they were able to provide, so glad we went. Looking forward to going back to Halifax. We are from Ottawa and are looking at driving to Montreal and taking "The Ocean" train to Halifax to spend a few days and back for a different experience. This video gave me some good ideas of things to do when we go back...thanks
Super cool! Yeah, we're a bit lucky because my grandma arrived in the 30s before privacy laws were a thing. That train sounds cool! Would make a great video haha.
My Dad's family arrived in Quebec City in 1949, and my Mom's family arrived in Halifax in 1950. We visited Pier 21 back in 2009 and it was something special to be in that building where my grandparents and their children had been so many years prior. The video presentation at the north end of the building was very cool; it appears to be in 3D without any special glasses. We also visited the Maritime Museum, and it's definitely the best one I've visited. Didn't have time for the Citadel or St George's Island; maybe next time! We drove all the way around both Nova Scotia and PEI in a single week, so it was a whirlwind tour.
Oh wow, yeah that is fast. But hey, always good to leave something for next time. The citadel is far better than Georges Island, but the views from Georges Island are worth the trip alone
Both my parents immigrated to Canada from Ireland in 1955. So cool to see the artwork along the waterfront. Very entertaining too. Thanks guys! Cheers!!!
Built the queen marque. Was there during the whole 2019 year. The view and the relaxing mood even more before covid was simply amazing. One of the best year of my life.
I have been to Halifax a few times...I have a friend that lives there. But, there are so many places that I still have to see. Thank you for sharing this video with us. 👍😊
This is my hometown and still live here, always still looking for things to do, and now recently, the waterfront with queens marquee on the board walk is now open to the public its now amazing views.
As a long term resident of Halifax, I can agree with most of this video. Living here is more complicated as, unless you are wealthy, housing in Halifax is becoming too expensive to live in.
It would definately be cold. Halifax doesn't get a lot of snow. When they do, the wind from the ocean typically scatters it away or it melts and turns to ice. But it would be colder for sure
@@MustDoCanada the one you wore in this video. There were mountains in your hoodie. By the way I’m planning to do a trip to Nova Scotia this summer and I found your videos super cool.
@@sagat2002 ahhh okay, yes, the one with the mountains is Tentree! They are Canadian. Even the black one I wear in some shots is merino wool and also from Canada called Unbound Merino
From experience, when I was a lot younger, DON'T SLIDE down the WATERFRONT WAVE. When you are 19 and drunk it seems like a fun idea. It's very abrasive paint to prevent slipping. That by experience will absolutely rip your jeans apart and drive those firbres right into your skin. One of the stupidest things I ever did.😂😂
I’m just wondering? Are people from Ontario welcome to spend their tourist dollars in Nova Scotia or would you rather we stay away because we might have Covid?
I will be come at halifax in feb. Intack I hope it me be possible. And I am form india. And you both can come in india and special come in "Gujarat" it's great please. Its state of india. Come in gujarat and see asian lions and great temple etc.
Come and see the boarded up storefronts in the area once known as Mic Mac Mall. Marvel at all the joyful Whoville residents all working as voluntary good will tourist industry ambassadors while they literally run in and out of Walmart to get their groceries. Rub elbows with hockey parents at the sensational RBC Centre. Visit the N.S. Art Museum with their non ironic lawn jockey on permanent display. They are well proud of it.

Thank you for showcasing my home province of Nova Scotia! Halifax has something for everyone.
More videos coming soon, including Annapolis Valley and Cabot Trail in the fall :)

Oh wow, didn't know that. We've thought about doing a series going to Ireland to find relatives, but Covid...

That is, without a doubt, the most charming Mexican accent I have ever heard in my life.
Well Karla will like this :)
Would love to see a video of off-the-beaten-path places in Nova Scotia and Halifax!
Are you based in Halifax?
@@MustDoCanada We are currently Canadians in California but we have bought property in the South Shore area of Nova Scotia.

Also check out all the happy hours! We have the most per capita in the Country!

It's good imprmation!!
Sad alot of things have changed since the 90's. Love halifax.
How about in winters if I will visit next month places will be open???
Indoor places for sure. I’m not sure about any outdoor activities. I guess we gotta go back in the winter to find out.
Why is the weather like at the beginning of December? Just cold or is it normal to have snowfall?
It would definately be cold. Halifax doesn't get a lot of snow. When they do, the wind from the ocean typically scatters it away or it melts and turns to ice. But it would be colder for sure
@@MustDoCanada Awesome, thank you. Thinking about a quick trip from Dec 2-Dec 5.
good morning, may i ask you the brand of your hoodie? if i recall it must be a canadian bran but i forgot the actual name. thanks in advance.

Gros Morne Mountain, Newfoundland

Sir you look like Steve Nash 😀
is that all in halifax?
Just remember there is only so much to do in Nova Scotia, after that some of the things that are done because you're bored is well.........
not me watching this *as* a resident of Halifax
Just bring your own private jet in case you get sick or hurt and need to go to the hospital. NO JOKE!
Freeze to death today in halifax
Get religious in Halifax....PRAY FOR SUNSHINE
Love it. But nothing to do here.... Maybe in 20 years things will go to normal...

Halifax has high tax similar to Quebec. Calgary is the best.
The #1 best thing you should do if you visit halifax?
LEAVE
Woke, passive agressive bore town.
