- After a couple weeks of racing I had to pull the Musi 959 engine apart, check it over, and put some rings in it. As you can see everything turned out pretty good. RROOOOGGAAAA

Gotta love just a simple man in his garage- no crew or fancy tools. Just hard work.
ruclips.net/video/YQvXCzgJpSs/видео.html
Also still has the common sense to use the head gaskets again and not just buy new🔥not letting the big time go tho his head 🤘🏻
Ya,and he's with pats daughter real hard work
ALL BS

Damn it was awesome to see this tear down! The detail that goes into it is precise. Great job kye . Admire y’all’s humble personality’s and how down to earth
ruclips.net/video/YQvXCzgJpSs/видео.html
Love to see the man himself doing the refresh, I know when you do this yourself it makes the win much more meaningful. This is why I’m backing Kyle Kelly Racing program. Your shop looks like an everyday mans garage, love it no fancy eat off the floor type.
Meanwhile the 405 guys sit around in flip flops getting other people to work on their cars.
@@pwr27986 those guys in flip flops do their own maintenance too check their RUclips channel you’ll see. #moronnation
@@pwr27986 lmao someone doesn't know shit about the 405 guys only time they send it off is when it needs machine work and same with swanstrom and the other guys they all do their own maintenance
That's ba. Just because you like Kye doesn't mean you have to tell lies. Personally I like pretty much all of the teams.
ruclips.net/video/YQvXCzgJpSs/видео.html
Dude. I am really happy to see that a guy who is extremely competitive and is actually a front runner comes from a humble shop most any blue collar guy could own. No massive square foot complex with built in machine shops etc. Granted you have a very well known sponsor, but the fact you are doing it in your back yard speaks volumes and keeps aspiring enthusiast's driven to continue in their craft. So often it is big money image that gets in the way of regular folk chasing their dreams. Props to you sir, go Kick Ryan's a__
Maybe any blue collar guy can afford the shop but definitely not the cars and tools in it.
@@r7kelley553 I’m sure at one time Kye couldn’t have afforded those cars either, but his hard work and dedication got him around the right people so he could afford it.
@@TheChad138 oh I definitely agree. I was just saying that shop has a ton of expensive shit in it.
@@r7kelley553 Tools are nothing special. any journey level mechanic has close to 100K invested in tools over a 20 year career. The cars however ya they are on whole another level.
@@lsx4279 you don't have to be a tool yourself and pick apart what I am saying. I was just simply saying there is a lot of value inside that shop. That's all.
No frills, just thrills!! Love it Kye. I have a new appreciation for you and your team. Keep pushing forward!
Man you could throw a groundhog down those intake ports 😂
That was Legit content!! And everyone thought his cars run on stripper glitter and bud light... truth is man does his own work keeping it real
ruclips.net/video/YQvXCzgJpSs/видео.html
Mean inside out out!!
I love behind the scenes stuff on the cars. Do more. thanks for posting
Live how you do the work yourself and stop to explain everything as you're doing it. Thanks and keep it up!!
Man this is cool as hell. Top of the line car and still doing it just the same way we all do it. No dropping the car off, and picking it up to race. The results speak for themselves. Anyone can hang onto the wheel, but this is a guy that can fix it when shit hits the fan and make it to the next round. Much respect.
Now this is the stuff I could watch all day. Real elbow grease and way behind the scenes where all the hard work to get the cars and driver to track is. This content is good Kye because it also shows us who you both are your personalities your experience your likes your dislikes. Keep this up you'll be at 1mil subscribers in no time! Keep killing the game brother.
When a man does his own work, with attention to detail, it makes him hard to beat. See how a winner works vs a crate motor. Good job. ONE MISSISSIPPI!
Thank Kye & Lizzy for the videos keep all the hard work !
I'm surprised so many are impressed that Kye does his own work. How the heck do you think he got where he is today? He's been among the fastest and quickest out there for a very long time. We remember Kye Kelly's name being mention right there with tha Birdman in the very first Street Outlaw programs. These guys are legit and they know what it takes to put their cars in the money. I'm not surprised at all to see Kye get his hands dirty,, he's been doing that since he was a kid. The fact he's connected to one of the more legendary engine builders in the game is cool as hell BUT Kye still wants to have his work in there.
I dont think people are surprised he knows HOW to do the work more that he still does it even though he's engaged to the daughter of one of the biggest race engine builders
Enjoyed that . Thanks for taking time to give us some pointers. Pretty cool.
ruclips.net/video/YQvXCzgJpSs/видео.html
This is what I wanted to see, longer and indepth videos. All the best for your next race
Great video Kye, thanks for sharing the information that most people didn't know. Please keep it coming my brother.
Kye like seeing you do your own thing but I gotta say man it seems like you got the life so I'd like to see ya smile and be a lil more happier.your blessed brother so that cheer.
Enjoyed the inside look at you and your shop and you actually working on the car. Thanks so much for taking the time to share. Best of lick in Tucson!
Luck that is…
Your attention to detail is the reason that you and lizzy are consistently the two fastest cars at the track. Keep up the good work and congratulations on your engagement.
I love listening to the purr of an engine! That was my lullaby's as a kid!
Nothing but respect owner driver, and mechanic/engine builder and always a winner great video time to give it a shot!!!
I like the fact that you do all this work on your own car much respect to you I'm sure some other drivers do too but I appreciate you sharing this video
Man, I love that all my favorite racers from Street Outlaws have their own RUclips channels. Thanks for not making it seem like a big deal to tear apart a motor. I'm building my first race car in my garage right now and it's nice to see such a big name racer approach a motor so humbly! Keep it up Kye and Lizzy! I love the channel guys!
Kye this is the best explanation on maintenance of a high caliber motor I’ve seen nobody goes into this much detail on how to!!! Dude your RUclips is amazing I love watching y’all’s content and I can’t wait for more of it dude god bless you & lizzy and they whole Kye Kelly racing and Pat Musi racing families!!!!
Actually really nice to see that you do the refresh on your motor yourself. Not to call out other Drivers but seems like they all pay someone else to do it for them.
I'd help for free, that is one of my hobbies.
Yeah most the other NPK’ers send there stuff to a shop to be worked on its ridiculous learn how to work on your own stuff
@@shorty808100 ya that's why I said something Haha
That's kind of funny you say that everybody I know freshens their stuff up themselves name some who send theirs off to a motor shop to get freshened up
Lol. Most of them aren’t dating a world renowned race engine builders daughter either…. Who would he send it to?
Great rebuild. Safety glasses 🤓 when cutting those rings Kyle.
Or under the car been there done that. 🤔🤔👊👊✌✌
One time, that's all it takes to wear the safety glasses. The pain, the pain. Never again will I grind or cut without safety glasses.
NO NEED FOR THEM! LMAO
N O PAIN - N O GAIN!!
I saw you in New England (Epping NH) I accidentally ignored you saying "Hi" . You, Lizzy, Lutz and Kamikaze Chris were the only racers there that gave a shit about their fans... great job!
ruclips.net/video/YQvXCzgJpSs/видео.html
Had the chance to briefly run in to Kye on his way back from Idaho in my home town. He had some tire trouble on his trailer and didn't slow down getting it fixed. Got the work done!
You don’t even spray it hard! Quit sand bagging 👀
No charge!!!!
You guys watch each other’s post, my two favorite NPK drivers Justin Swanstrom and Kyle Kelly Racing
Kye Kelly should be able to take the win from Ryan Martin this year being how the procharge combo got hit with the weight penalty and the nitrous cars got a weight break. Last year's race was just inches away from a win for Kye Kelly unless Ryan Martin was doing all the sand bagging last year....lol....No seriously though Kye Kelly and Lizzy should be pretty fast this year.....Good luck be safe.
All I know is Pat does not like to start smashing ring lands for performance, he prefers to get it the old fashioned way to start out with and build it so I'm not sure Kye is stretching the truth too much. Pat keeps a perdy close eye on those engines that he puts his name on. If I didn't build my own there is only 2 people If I couldn't build my own that would ever go in my Car, one of Pat's or one from Reher & Morrison.
It’s called gettin under your opponent’s skin n running around in their head . A little sand baggin for more cash . That’s the name of the game .same tactics employed in the 60 s 70s 80 s 90 s 2000s and way into foreseeable future . Some get so rattled they forget WHAT THEY Are DOIN ! Since I live 60 miles N. Of race track I’ll have to cruise down that way !
Great job on explaining yourself and on the video man. Keep killing it bro !
Hey kye and Lizzie So glad you guys are doing RUclips Love seeing you guys up and close totally Awesome. Who changes the rings in Lizzie's car ?
ruclips.net/video/YQvXCzgJpSs/видео.html
I'm sure Pat helps her with that stuff.
PAT MUSI RACING! Who do you think? Kyle made the comment during his Refresh video, that is why he does it all himself as BIG NAMES CHARGE BIG $ MONEY $ !!
@@johnwhite6262 They all charge big money. That's why it's expensive to go fast. You have to pay to play. If one can do it themselves, why wouldn't they save some money?
Ole Kye upset the 405 you're awesome bud I remember watching Pat Musi race when I was a kid in the Popeye green camaro what a legend keep doing your thing and you'll be a legend some kid talks about when he gets old like me
Still even if you ain’t pat you still got mad skills way cool 😎
Pretty cool seeing you in the shop actually caring for you car love the channel my boy and I love watching you guys keep it real be safe
I love videos like this of tear downs ,thanks Kye !!
That is one big ass motor when it's all together. Awesome video, guys!
That was actually interesting to watch. Thnx guys for awesome content. Keeps me going latenight here in south Africa
Great video as always. Loved hanging out and talking to y'all at Virginia. Good group of people for sure.
Building a big block with Kye! Solid info man. Most people aren’t that informational. You really helped a lot of garage built guys. 🤘🏻
Excellent!! Really hope you or Lizzy take this one home! 🙏❤
Great video I knew alot but I learned a ton so yall do these videos to help out up and comers!!! Or old skool guys like me!! I'm literally in the process of getting my s.b with a possible turbo in a car and hoping to atleast fire it up this year and drive it and if all goes good do some real test hits on the road!!! Keep it up love all of this and can't wait to keep watching yall!!!! I'm 44 and thanks to 1320,Big Rob and the RUclips I'm all about this again!!! We did this as youngsters then ya know life happens and you put stuff away and or forget about it but this has helped me get that bug back!!! Also shout out to Trailer Park Garage,SRC,405,MSO!!! Yall light a fire and I'm hoping to come to a few events and will be happy & blessed if I ever got to line up with any of you guys!!! That asswhooping would be up there in my bucket list of things!!!
Love the picture on your workbench that says Ray’s Boom Boom Room. Great movie!🍿
Thanks Kye for that down to earth look .She sounds nasty ! Good luck bro
Awesome video! Love watching what it takes to keep these cars making passes and hurtin feelings.
Nice to see that you do your own freshening. Also glad that you switched to a blown hemi for the 2023 season. I follow a few of the 405 guys, but I beginning to admire the work that you do-even if you're from California!
You and Chief my favorite dude’s, much respect Mr Kye Kelly🙌
Chief is a CRY BABY!
I ONCE liked Chief & Shaun
w/Murder Nova, but then each
time you see them on tv or at
The track, They BOTH CRY & WHINE like 2 Little Bitchs!!
Great video. Good work Chase & Kye. Do a valve lash, spring test video. Then a leak down test!
Thanks for the lesson in big engine re ring. Good job Kye!
Pat Musi is one of the true legendary engine builders. I have been a fan since the early 80s. Dude has huge wins as a driver and as a builder. Glad you part of his family now. Better Marry that girl up.
Really cool to see you working, those aluminum rod motors everything is a consumable on it. Everything has a life span. But definitely huge horsepower
Always been a fan of your racing. You always had more brains than money and always made it work.
Bout time you all give this channel life!!!!
Thankyou for the video Kye great to see how you maintain your engine
That's the Absolute fastest I've ever seen Anyone torque heads.
That's why I have so much respect for Kye. He knows how and chooses to work on his own engines.
Keeping it real in your garage
Those ports are insane
Throttle response is SICK
👍 Only thing that was missing, was Lizzy handing you your tools 😂🤙
601’s know what’s up😉🤙
Listen to that big ole pat musi motor like music to my ears, loved your reaction when the motor is idling 🍻
This was a badass video please do more of these garage nights if you can love this shit brotha kick some ass rest of the season homie
How often do you change the rods in the 959ci?
Awesome video brother keep up the great work and continue to drive over top of those turbos and procharger.
50 runs

Hey Man, appreciate the time and the content. BADASS ride, and a cool dude. 💯
Kye is real as it gets. Enjoyed the video
Kye Kelly holding it down! Loving the new channel and content.
soo bad ass that you do all your own work and go as fast as you do!! keep up the content!!!
Thank you for the hard work of racing and video. I know it’s a lot to let us into your lives, but it meens a lot. I always wondered what kind of service house engines take.
Man, just watched one if your competitors videos, boring! This is content worth watching, nice job! Much respect for a guy who does it himself and isn't afraid to share his mistakes so others may also learn!
Like your attitude humble and consistent
That is one amazing engine! And I like that you are working on it yourself!
Now this was a great video to watch. Down to earth and neat information. Keep up with the "day in the life of" types of videos
I love that he does his own refresh and he actually enjoys motors. You can see the wheels turning about what he could add to this power plant. Why a ball hone and not a stone hone. The Ball Home hides whiteness marks and cylinder deformation marks (pancaking) the stone home doesn’t and makes sure the bore is true cause the stone home is rigid and flat will show if the cyl is out of round.
Great video I enjoyed watching you refresh the motor. I see you racing on TV and on RUclips all the time and to see vids like this really gives you more depth as a person that just seeing you as a racer. Great job, enjoyed watching . Good luck in all your races man .
Awesome video and thank you! On the tech end chat about rod and bearing /piston replacement, maybe oil type
This guy is the real deal. Love man
Great detail glad generations are learning put my Godzilla motor up 20 years ago fixing to drag it back out 250 shot running
@23:25 greatest moment. Loved seeing him having fun with his hotrod. You don’t see any of this on tv. I love this side of him and the behind the scenes. Real grass roots.
A lot of RESPECT for you man! Good luck to you and raise some hell with that monster 😁 that's one bad machine 👍
thank you for being so cool to my son and i in ohio, my boy was pumped to meet you, loves that shirt
In my mind just as my cousin. temple said. Kye is the smartest driver their is. Put your money on the man. He knows how to build and how to tune. Bobby D im sure will say the same back from his vega days. Respect . Stay safe and win that npk championship. Ill bet the house on it
Really friggin Tucson AZ? Heck ya. RIGHT ON. THIS WAS COOL. Holy crap. Thing sounds bad ass...
That's a damn interesting video, glad y'all are putting out some behind the scenes stuff. There's a lot of the NPK drivers cannot freshen their own stuff. 👍🏻👍🏻
Yeah it’s pathetic in my day if you wanted a race engine you had to build it yourself unless you had $250,000 which is what one of these blocks costs back when I was racing that doesn’t count the heads and internals that’s just the block for $250k from dart you guys are lucky on how cheap drag stuff has become
@@shorty808100 lol 😆🤣🤣
Great video kye you definitely earned your place in the racing world bro
I have been a fan every since you drug big chief from the beginning ,
But hats off to your success and looking forward to the next time you show them boys in the 405 who's the boss , looking forward to the content as a new subscriber

Hi
It’s great you show racers that if ky can do it you can too. 👍🏽
Nice shop! You will win Kye! Thanks for telling us. 🤘🏻👊🏼🏁
I thought that radiator was a tranny cooler at first, lol. Guess that's all you really need at the track. You see those intake ports, Dham! Thanks for sharing!
The fist in the intake runner makes a sbc racer like myself feel insignificant 😂😂😂
Kye, any plans on coming back to Beech Bend, Bowling Green Ky???
glad to see you use trans fluid i have always used trans fluid and everyone has always said i was crazy but every motor i build i dunk in trans fluid and let drip a few min and in it goes.
