Looking good captain Rob, I would not won't to fly that near any trees when it's finished lol. You won't be able to see it. Keep up the great work captain Rob. Geekworks at it's best...👍👍👍👍👍
Hello You should insert a black painted aluminium mesh into the hood, would looking great. I like to follow your building. Sorry about my english, i‘m german. GREATINGS
God your blasting through this build!! Covering on the nose cone looks good!! I like the Solartex comes across nice on camera, maiden flight Saturday then !!!!
Neat covering on the cowling Rob,mine will be yellow nose cowl as I do not have your covering skills, the Luftwaffe used yellow quite a bit on the Storch. A good job thats a fibreglass cowl and not one of those ABS mouldings that used to be very common in kits, anyway you got around the issue nicely and as you say once its camouflaged you will not even know. If it power stalls then you can always put a bit of down on the motor and nibble into the cowl a bit, test flying will determine that aspect. I bet you are experiencing high winds and rain too down at Hayling Island, weather awful here and well and truly grounded. Neat work on the Storch anyway.
Nice job Rob, I enjoy watching your reviews, just don't understand about " the dogs bollogs"sorry am not English.... but find your tips good, makes me wonder how long you have been putting together modells. I enjoy each and every show, have found tips and tricks everytime.....keep up the good work
that will be Dogs Bollocks In UK slang terms the "dog's bollocks" means the best. It comes from the habit of male dog's licking their testicles (bollocks) and that they must taste good as they spend so much time in this activity.
RC Model Geeks , okay Rob.... sorry have to wipe this grin off of my face, you gents sure have a way of saying things....makes me remember my times in England. Like I said before, keep up the good work, enjoy every clip, they are all good, wished I had your tallent ....
Looking good brother. just got two of those turnigy sk3 Motors i got the 4240 740 kv. Pulling 45 amps 300+ watts on 4s with 12/6 prop. think its gonna work. On a 40 to 60 nitro plane ? Hope so 👍
Looks like you bought the last motor from HK. They seem to have a shortage at the moment. Both global and in AU. Had to go with a 1200KV I will just have to reduce the pitch. Cheers
Also found this Video of the full size. I will be modelling after this aircraft. It shows the colours of the Cowl and the air hole in the side bulges. ruclips.net/video/bTEpbv5dHEQ/видео.html
Take a look at this,it looks like DW copied the Durafly Storch which has the same flap geometry issue and the sloping cowling ! if you look at the structure its identical except that one was an ARTF. ruclips.net/video/yhVRqyNwbmc/видео.html
“Bodgification” an engineering term I have not come across before but I think it describes much of my own best work. Keep up the great work Rob.

Excellent workmanship, i never knew plastic cowlings could be covered, probably low temp iron is needed not to melt the plastic.
Its glass fibre

did you use propeller adapter?
Did anyone else sweat when he was looking for the motor box while the plane was dangerously hanging off the bench?!
