I just discovered this video when trying to find something nice about Chile. I am from Chile myself and now I live in Australia. I love the way you showed all those beautiful places in Chile! I haven't been to all of those places myself!! This is great! I feel I want to go to more places now when going back to Chile for holidays!! Thank you!!! Fantastic work! :)

What memories. I used to live in southern Chile. There is no place like it. And I'm not just talking about the beautiful vistas. Chilenos are fun. And funny. They are a people who have mastered not just English tongue-in-cheek humor, but double-entendres and triple-entendres. I thank God I learned Spanish in Chile. Santiaguinos are like New Yorkers to me. They're in a hurry. They're curt but polite. New Yorkers are the exact same way. Move your ass if you're on the sidewalk. But if you find somebody sitting in the Metro (subway), ask questions. They're more than happy to help you find where you need to go. Hell, they probably know the bus route. I lived in Coyhaique (look at a map of Chile). That used to be (in the 90s when I lived there) a military outpost. Lots of Chilean military looked at it and said, "WTF?" But that's part of how they decentralized the government, along with moving the Senate to Valparaíso. I ate my fair share of milcao there. We are currently travelling with a campervan in Chile and we loved it :D We left Santiago a month and a half ago and just arrived to Chaiten :) We are very excited to discover Patagonia ;)
Great tips. We are in Chile now and can't wait to travel the north. We unfortunately missed the white water rafting season. We will just have to come back. We want to buy a camper van next time. :) Great video Steve. Cheers.
I love Chile and appreciate the review. A few additions. The Beagle Channel - just take a weekly ferry from Punta Arenas, it is much, much better than the Magellan. Then, Isla Navarino, the Teeth of Navarino - it is remote and a backpacker paradise. A word of warning: there is no cure for Chagas and you may not even be diagnosed in your country. Therefore, my rule is: from Region VIII to the southern end or higher than 2300 m. You decide how to handle your risks.
Dear tourist: I recommend you as well to visit the center of Santiago, a very european-looking and modern city full of curiosities to see. If you want to see more nature, you can visit "Bahía Inglesa" (Región de Atacama); "Valle del Elqui" (Región de Coquimbo), "Punta de Choros" (also in Región de Coquimbo); "Radal 7 Tazas (Molina, Región del Maule)"; "Beaches of Pichilemu" (Región de O'Higgins); "Lago Ranco" (Región de los Ríos); "Lago Villarrica", "Isla de Chiloé" and "El Ventisquero" (all of them in Region de los Lagos); "Laguna San Rafael" (Región de Aysén), and many many others! There's a lot to discover and enjoy in this beautiful country that combines amazing landscapes, the roustic and the modern.
Arnold animado Haha, I heard that a lot but...your country is huge and not many people got to be in the position I am to travel for several months! You'll get to all those places over time and each one of them is worth the visit. Un abrazo!
Easter Island, Modern Santiago and it's vineyards, heavenly beautiful Chiloe and its famous spooky tales, La Serena and it's Pisco valleys, the ESA Astronomic Observatory in La Silla (biggest in the world), the vinyard route to Colchagua to visit one of the source of best vines in the world (Check Parker, it's no exaggeration) , the increible hanging Glacier in the Queulat National Park, Douglas Tompkins (RIP) world famous the Pumalin Park, huge protected untouched natural park south of Puerto Montt, the Chuquicamata open pit mine, the biggest man made hole on earth (4x3 km wide and long, 1km deep), The Lauca National Park at the boarder to Peru and Bolivia, San Pedro de Atacama and the highest geysirs in the world, the lake seas and the red, green, blue lakes of the dessert and and and... the list of superlatives is infinite! Dude, you believe you got to know the country? You missed the best (except Torres del Paine).Du musst auf jeden Fall nochmal her!!
+PatagonianWarrior I'm currently on another trip here in Chile - I visited the Queulat, the Pumalin, the Bosque Encantado, PN Laguna San Rafael, did some hikes at Cerro Castillo and Villa O'higgins..explored more around TdP and I'm still not done. It is hard to feature only 10 Things, so this is my tiny introduction to an impressive country...a little taster to start with ;)
+BackPacker Steve awww... machst du mich neidisch, besonders wegen dem Queulat Nationalpark ! Hast mir was voraus :) Great dude, I hope I will made at least a trace of that when I am over there 3 weeks (End of Nov - Mid Dec). Enjoy and switch of the computer :P
I admire south Chile! it's so unique and beautiful! we have thought about traveling there in march 2020. Does anyone know if it is stable up there? I am worried about news from Chile and Santiago! Can anyone answer if it is safe or to backpack in south Chile these days I will be grateful!
Hey there! I'm chilean, I suggest you to wait a little bit. Besides the fact everyone around the world is dealing with the virus, here in Chile the political problems are still uncertain in the capital, but in the south part hasn’t been any “chaotic disaster” like the protests from last year (sorry for my english, but I tried 🤣🤣🤣)
All I know is that my aunt uncle and cousin are going to Chile with me in 2019 for the next solar eclipse I don’t know why we are going to Chile but I hope we can visit one of these places
cool vid! lots of nice uninhabited places to get away from the thieves which is what you need to be thinking about good luck folks and watch your change
One country and at least continent, I definitively have to travel to in the future!! Exspecially because of the strange shape of this country...! How long did you stay in Chile?
Gotti i live in chile so beautiful but end of the word i live in chile before 5 year and 1st time i am going to punta arena with my family i am so exceited
Jonathon Woodgate As a Chilean I can say that Valparaíso is amazing cause of its picturesque landscapes, old architecture and history, but now, there's a lot to fix there because the city has become a dirty shithole.
Valparaiso was far more beauty in the 80's before 4 Mayors in a row break the administration of the city, now is too dirty ..... still i love mi city, but true comes firsts !
Thank you so much for sharing us this beauty i put this country on the top of my list and i spend alot of time planing i'll travel alone and chose to visit santiago-valparaiso-pucon-all carretera austral-torres del pain- 30 days enough? And 6000 $ as budget?
30 days are enough (unless you're thinking of making any longer tour) and $6000, euros or dollars, are more than enough! I'd advice you to take a ship in Puerto Montt and cruise through the islands until Cape Horn and Punta Arenas (incredible!). From there, you take a bus to Puerto Natales + Torres del Paine. Once there, make the W or O trekking tour!!! Check denomades.com for anything related to Torres del Paine. You must make reservations in advance if you plan to stay more then one day visiting the park.
Gumball Firerson he’s saying whoever can’t see Chile on the map just can’t see it and that these videos are helping people know that Chile does exist !

This video is required by my Latin America class, so you obviously did a fantastic job on the video!
Wonderful introduce! Chile it is a very beautiful country, and I love it! I love my country! Thank you!
Amei... já queria ir no chile. Agora mais ainda
Sounds like fun! Chile looks incredible.

Gotti Altogether it has been 4 months in Chile - a country worth visiting!
Gotti i live in chile so beautiful but end of the word i live in chile before 5 year and 1st time i am going to punta arena with my family i am so exceited
Great video!!, missed Santiago and Easter Island!!, next time!!.
lnurse r True. one has to keep some stuff for the next visit ;)
mi hermano Mika vive en Valparaíso !
Y ustedes de donde son?
You are right Pedro . Fully agree with you
Grande y hermoso mi Pucón
Viva Chile 🇨🇱 bless

Hola
Seems like you know my country better than i ahah, hope you enjoyed it... next time you should visit the "Elqui's Valley" and the "Easter Islands"
Thanks for sharing! I used it in a class (6th graders) Best wishes from LLanquihue Chile ;)
+Pescaventuraptovaras Que bueno! This is lovely to hear - I feel honored!
Que linda mi Patria hermosa .te Extrano CHILESITO
Parque Nacional Torres del Paine is Amazing 😌
Gumball Firerson he’s saying whoever can’t see Chile on the map just can’t see it and that these videos are helping people know that Chile does exist !

Hello Can you help me from Tunisia and I would like to visit Chile ?
Hello. What help do you need?
You should have mentioned Isla Negra and Vina del Mar. They are beautiful places to visit in Chile. I loved it when I visited Chile in 2012.
Maximiliano Novoa TODO MI CHILE ES HERMOSO Y EL SUR POR SUPUESTO AMO MI PAÍS ENTERO VIVA MI CHILE AMADO!!!!
