Yes yes yes! It’s time to acknowledge toxic productivity. It’s not actually productive to constantly be busy. We do need time and rest to really produce quality work. It’s become the norm to constantly have our wheels spinning and pumping out more but it’s not worth anything if it’s all.... janky.
I‘m reading Deep Work right now and the part I read this morning was actually about the topic that people are not more productive when they work longer. Rather there should really focus for eg. 3-4 hours the rest you can do a little bit of administrative tasks AND refuel your energy !
What a helpful video! Exactly what I needed to hear. I have been working remotely but find I am putting in so many extra hours being at home and my job never really ends.
As healthcare workers, youtubers, homemakers, moms etc... we really needed to hear this message! Thank you so much for putting into words EXACTLY how we have been feeling since the onset of the pandemic. We are definitely going to use your suggestions to help us get to a better space!!
Absolutely! The balance between productivity and rest is important . Creating that space you mentioned is key. If you don’t create the space for rest, your body will do it for you...
I really needed to hear this. I put a lot of value on being productive. Especially in my weekends off work, if i was really productive I’d consider it a “good weekend”.
I use a timer now to make sure I *only* spend 20 min on cleaning or whatever task I tend to convince myself needs to be done before I can start my work.
OMG! You don't know how much I needed to hear that! It was exactly everything I was starting seeing in my life and I am not happy at all. Thank you soo much for being here saying these words for us.
Tasha, I know this doesn't fit with the mission of the channel, but could you PLEASE make a video about what products you use on your hair 😩 it always looks so beautiful and healthy
Yes to all this! Motivation is a finite and when we take the time for recreation and leisure we “recreate” ourselves for the work we need to do. I know some people have more flexibility with this than others but even taking twenty minutes out of the day to do something only for you can make a big difference!
I recommend having c10% slower days from time to time. Eat, walk, work and talk that little bit slower and more mindfully. Witness all that's going on in the World around you in a slightly detached state. I've spent much of my working life in full-on burn out mode and have found this a helpful strategy.
I love this! I used to jam pack my to do list to complete in one day. I realized that I didn’t fully completed my tasks to my fullest. They felt more half done or just rushed. What’s the point on doing it if I’m not doing it right the first time. At the beginning of this pandemic I felt I needed to do more. Wore me out. Super burnt out. Felt guilty at first taking a break/going slow. But I’ve realized it’s best for me. I started clearing out Monday’s to take it slow and relax
Does anyone besides me have instincts telling you to hibernate? I feel unmotivated to do much of anything for fear of getting sick and losing money. By doing less, I am risking less. Less exposure and less expense.
Harvard released an article that reinforces your message and affirmations. Essentially, less is more. Easier said than done sometimes, I know. Here is the article: hbswk.hbs.edu/item/want-to-be-happier-make-more-free-time. You always inspire me, year after year. Thank you, Tasha. Stay well.

So true!! Rest is considered a waste of time in our education system... we miss the role it plays in creativity

Amen!! I came from healthcare and busy is glorified in this field!! 😅
I recommend reading “to hell with the hustle” it touches on productivity. It’s a good read 😁
Thank you! Will definitely check this out... on my 2021 list✨
Yes! This is the message I needed. This is a great video :) I'm working on how to structure my day with more calm, rest, and ease.

“Show up for yourself..” like this
🙌🏻
Wow right on time! I literally just said this to myself on last week. Slow down and be present for the task at hand.

Fun to plan this into 2021 calendar ✨
I feel that way s lot. Too much to do, not enough time to do it.
12:22 Yesss! 100% agree. Without blocking out the time for the actual task, it's so easy to overbook.
Tasha! Baby that hair had a life if it’s own!! Whew! I couldn’t focus for staring at your hair! Lawd it’s gorgeous!
I enjoyed this video, it's reassuring as a wife, mom, and academic as I am dumping my schedule and starting from scratch.
"How to be less productive!!!". Ok , now you are speaking my language lol. Great video btw
YES! I couldn't agree more! Slowing down and focusing on the most important things only can be very restorative.
Some of my best investment ideas have come from “incubation” time ✨

Yes 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Yes!
I think she has some saved stories on her Instagram?
Creating a lot of what’s not really needed is definitely not productive... we are definitely a society that glorifies busy and ‘productive’
Thank you for the practical video! Side note, am I the only one totally in love with that turtleneck sweater?🤔😄...Please share the deets!!

And its fun to do thing, learn things that maybe are not related to our usual projects in this leasure time
This is so true. We all need to give ourselves greater space.
Thnks for this! Very enlightening..👏👍

I try to do one thing a day... on my best days maybe three ... seems to work well ✨

Slow is look down at in our society 😆
