Yes,you too😉😍😄and i love kelly,she's my heroine😍
Yeah, this is a good 2002 song
always
I listening, this song reminder us to think before we take action
Reminds me of early 2000s in every way 😍 Best times. I remember this song by heart. I love it.
Kelly deserved a Grammy Award for this song, but "good don't get attention"
Wow
Thats so true
+tremaine861 loool!!
+R You don't have to write a song to get a grammy for it.
Good doesn't get any attention like Kelly said in the song illuminated Beyonce gets as many attention

One of the most underated songs ever made.
And the biggest mistake of her career. She was riding high off the Nelly song and she ended up singing an Emo rock song as her lead single.

This song used to make me bawl my eyes out. I related to it too. Sometimes I really hated my home life… my parents were drunks and beat each other… I was weird in school. It gets better to everyone who thinks it doesn’t.
Sending love to you I know how you felt

Golden music era...I feel sorry for today's kids.
Man I grew up in this era, and kids today are 1000x more real.
This song is really iconic for any kid who really went through a horrible time in school. Super super powerful track.
yep, i cried while watching it. gives back a lot of memories and almost took my life too. kids, adults- don't bully! 15 years later and i'm still struggeling. it really can cause terrible damage.
Very inspiring .i didn't fit in when i was at school
Yeah. High school was the most unpleasant time for me too. I was so glad when it ended and started university.
@@TheKraah
I ended up in prison due to being bullied at school.
I ran into the main one in my mid 20s while working on a house which turned out to be 2 doors down from his new address.
This guy pretty much physically and mentally tortured me at school (and out of school as he lived across the street from me) with his friends.
He tried to bully me again, but I was a very different person at that point and I nearly beat him to death with a ratchet.
I got 4 years in prison for that and it ruined my life…..I suffer from CPTSD because of that guy and his friends.
What I did to him didn’t make me feel any better.
I’m now hitting 40 and haven’t been able to work for the past 8 years due to PTSD symptoms, anxiety disorder and severe depression.
I also had a heroin addiction as a direct result of what these people did to me all those years ago.
@@Acheron666 i hope you feel better soon❤ it's a shame they got away with it just like that and you had to be punished, even though it wasn't right thing to do either, but i understand. they really can mess up someone's life and mind.. especially when your young and have to go through something so vicious.
Hi friends, I played Mary at the :48 second mark. This video was fun and emotional to shoot and Kelly and the crew were so nice. Sending love ~Jennifer
That’s awesome!
You were magnificent in this video, Jennifer. Such an emotional role! I remember this when it was released. Goodness how time flies!
Woow. You did a great Job.
Thanks for that info. You did great and so beautiful!
the Daily Connoisseur you’re awesome!
This goes out to the all the victims in Texas, and their families. Rest In Peace… 🙏🏽
And to basketball legend Kobe Bryant
The comment thread tells you everything that's wrong with America today
Listening to this in 2024 and the words still resonate with me, I was bullied a lot in school, which made me have zero confidence which I struggle with to this day! Thankfully I don’t see my bullies anymore as we moved to a different part of the country! Love this song so much!
And yet the same thing happened to me (bullied in school) but yet the difference between us is: It only made me stronger.
Now I don't take any 🤬 from anybody.
3 Bullies over a 6 year period. And they made me the way I am today.
Although I'll say this. One of the 3 of them did GROW UP and admitted to me how horrible the way he treated me. And he did actually apologize to me sincerely. So at least one of them grew up. The other 2 though they are still A-HOLES. Heck as far as one of the other 2 are concerned he didn't even do anything wrong.
Everytime you ask "why she doesn't sings songs like this anymore", refer to the part of the song that says "Good don't get attention".
Good point!
You right, I love Kelly Rowland first albums. Its sad artists have to make this teeny bopper over sexed lyrics to get on the charts. Beyoncé first couple of albums was amazing after is when she started stripping away the clothes and singing raunchy lyrics.
Great point! Manner singers don't make it cuz they refuse to sexualise everything
Exactly!

"Now we're never gonna see him slam, flying higher than Kobe can."
Two men whose lives were stolen.
I was 15 last I heard this, now I'm 26...I was in so much pain in high school but I wasn't even allowed to feel it...I wanted to cry watching this but my mom told me not to be sensitive.I found this today, I'm still in pain but free to feel it, I was shaking and crying the whole song...I don't know if it's just the song or some part of me healed
I wish I could hug you . I feel the same way
dont make the pain control you to a point where u still feel it now. high school is over , be strong , u survived the pain , shows that youre a strong person.

The music, the woman singing, the message - It was all phenomenal. I kinda wish it wasn't about a shooter but teen depression instead, a much more common problem. Plenty of high school outcasts who relate to this aren't gonna shoot anyone but their suic1de rate is soaring : (.

Me tearing up at 6:25am to this song. ❤️❤️
To those who went through bullying and bad influence and survived the time this song came out: you are LEGENDS and survivors. To those who are going through the same: you WILL survive just like we did. To those who passed: may you all rest and if there's a next life may it be full of joy 🌟💖🌈💐
When bullying was being ignored and all of the singers were trying to make it a serious issue lowkey. Smdh took damn near 20 yrs for parents and people to actually make a change.
i feel for this new generation, they'll never know healing music like this.
yep
that's why we listen to old music... I mean some of us. I'm 15 and I rather listen to this that some shit with no meaning
I never got this, I mean I love old music, I mean geez I like OLD oldies, but that's music for you, it changes.
I feel for my generation because we are so closed minded, we just couldn't wait for the next generation to even grow up before we started hating them. Usually it takes decades for a generation to become this cynical.
I mean who looks at a song about spoiled youth and tragedies of teens and decides that means it's the perfect time to bash teens and what they like? Forget that nonsense. Two things can be good at the same time.
+Pap Swap SO WELL WRITTEN.
Besides Mandy, there is lots of healing music in our day and age if you just look beyond radio or mainstream. (even there, I wouldn't be such a snob to reject all of it. E.g. Tove Lo's "high" is surprisingly hearbreaking, and Sia's "Breathe Me" is shaking, and Coldplay's "Fix you"... I could go on and on)
There is good music with deep meanings this days, just look on the right places
i wish people could see how bullying can destroy someone in an instant
Bullying is such a horrible thing to do to someone.
charmaine marawanyika
Pretty sure they see but then don't care anyway
Everyone should Watch “bully” and if they cant see after that they don’t have a heart.
I used to fight bullies In school. I had built up anger from seeing my dad beat on my mom and my family used to bully me then I got bullied in elementary and middle school once I got to high school I started fighting people that was messing with other people. I got suspended and got my ass whooped when I got home but oh well 🤷🏾🤷🏾
Keep in mind, this song is actually about a school shooting. It’s about how bullying can not only destroy one person in an instant, but many innocent people (who may not even be associated with the shooter).
This song brings me back to the memory of my best friend, first friend I made in high school. It was the end of grade 12 and we were at the end of finals. I walked into school to find one of those dollarstore construction paper cardboard paper posted at the front doors with her name on it. She took her life and I still to this day don't know why. Everyone remember that those who chose to go will most likely go in silence. We must be a voice for those who had none. Rip Ashley Maria Duffenais. That was one of the hardest and most life changing times for me. I won't ever forget it. I was so bloody heart broken.
Jess, you paying tribute is the most important thing. we never truly know what makes people end it all. My cousin was 16 when she did. it changed our lives . i thought i was her most trusted male cousin but even i didn't know.
I'm so sorry and deeply feel you..my best friend ,like a brother, died 2 almost 3 years ago..He had autism., but wonderful human being ..Never understand, but got to say this song,a tribute for the never forgotten ones.😢😢❤
This song has always stuck with me. Ever since I first heard it around the time it came out. The message is so deep and powerful that it gives me goosebumps... We need to be kind to one another❤
Yeah true❤

I think that we never see Mary. The girl in the video is Mary's best friend. When the shooting started, Mary was in the restroom. Mary's best friend knew she had gone in there and that's why she ran down the hall panic stricken. The rest of the video shows Mary's best friend haunted by the experience for a long time. The passage of time is conveyed by the arrival of the baby.
Can i help you understand better.. Mary is the girl that was dating the kid who killed himself.. So Mary was pregnant with his child

Sorry to hear that
Looking back at my Jr High years I realize I was a bully. I once made fun of a classmate in front of the entire class and everyone continued to make fun of him after my stupid remarks. I wish I would have stayed quiet that day. The guy started being bullied by others because of me. It was so bad that he stopped coming to school one day, he had changed schools and we never saw him again. I remember his first name but I can’t remember his last name and I hope that I can find him some day and apologize for the pain my words caused. I thought I was being funny, and I did it at his expense. It is one of my biggest regrets. I am very sorry Santiago!
Self reflection is the best thing brother, we all make mistakes, it’s just what we learn and how we learn from those mistakes👊🏽👊🏽
💔💔💔 Aaaauwww bathong.. That was heartfelt. I trust he has forgiven you
I wouldn't be surprised if he's forgiven you. I should know; a girl I bullied at school managed all by herself to forgive me for it.
We all did it to an extent. I realise that now. One girl had a really deep voice and we made fun, for me it was more interest in why but I didn't get that it was boundaries and none of my fucking business.
So I was bullied and I handed it out. the one kid we did make miserabale I apologised to a couple of years ago. Frankly had I been him I would have told me to fuck off
Aw! 🤗
Sadly even more relevant in 2018 than it was in 2002. Will America ever learn?

The song was sad enough to begin with now the line "Now we're never gonna see him slam/Fly as high as Kobe can" resonates more deeply. 😢
I remember the first time I heard and saw the video of this song, i was only about 6 or 7 but i sensed it was a really sad song. Today it came up in my head randomly and I searched the lyrics I could recall. The message still rings true to this day: kindness will go a long way. No one is perfect but being intentionally mean/nasty to people serves no purpose. One comment, one "joke" at a person's expense could be the very last straw that breaks them.

Scooby
@@brandonbowers2932 lmfao ! Where did u get... she did not, check your facts
Its very relatable. It hits me deep when I listen to it
gosh this hits different now, compared back in 2002.
Kelly had me crying to this song when I was little 😭
That Kobe flying high line takes on a whole second meaning now 😭
I was bullied relentlessly in high school and this related to me so much. I genuinely thought about killing myself in high school but it thankfully never got that far. Please think about the weird outcasts at your school.
same
I made a real effort to do so as an outcast myself. I was 9 when Colombine happened. I knew then as a 3rd grader maybe if they had a good friend and no bullies they'd might not have done it. If me as a 9 year old kid saw it back in 1999, what is the admin of 2019 excuse? We have so much more to use to reach out if we try!
Me too the cool girls would do all sorts I always said if I went back for a reunion I'll knock them out they were always well dressed and had easy lives school was my escape apart them though am older now with kids of my own never want them to feel like that ...
Same
Same I have a friend group but everyone hates us our “friendship” is toxic we constantly put each other down the biggest problem is we all have mental illnesses or problems
I have OCD actual OCD not those people who just get annoyed when someone doesn’t finish their sentence and I have depression
I’m numbering the people in my group to keep track here
1.has depression
2.has depression and anxiety and autism
3.has autism
4.has depression and anxiety
5.has anxiety
6.hasn’t been tested but shows all signs of autism and is on the brink of suicide
7.has autism like really bad autism
This song cuts deep. We all know that one person who needed just one more day to set things right.
Now we'll never know.
What's sad is that this song is still relevant...
What happened to meaningful story telling in mainstream music??? What a gem of a song.
I love this song so much. The message was so strong and Kelly's voice is so amazing. Her talent was so under appreciated. I love her more than Beyonce.
Me too 🎶🎶🎶🎶✨️✨️✨️
This song has way more depth and meaning than anything Beyoncé’s dozens of writers produced for her
@@stephenwylie1041 I agree.
@stephenwylie1041 That's because it was written and produced FOR Kelly by several different writers & producers. Hypocrite much? Lol
in terms of singing talent, Kelly is nothing special. she was in Destiny Child because of her looks.
the other two had other talents and Beyoncé sang better.
This hits different these days! 😪
This song reminds me of my step brother Liam ...RIP mate, always missed ❤
makes me cry every time. still listening to this in 2015
Savannah Marie Same
Savannah Marie Me too ...
Savannah Marie me too....i will always love this song....xoxo
Me too still listening..
still listening and crying to this in 2016 lol
this song is more relevant than ever in todays climate with the increase in school shootings
This is such a timely song, given all these darn school shootings.
This song came out when I was a late teen. It always made me cry. Such an awesome, timeless song.
