I found a rusty Adrian Helmet in our woods when we were clearing a path. Came across your video when I was trying to figure out what I found. Thank you!
The crest is not used to deflect sabers, which were pretty much unused by that time (cavalry had pretty much disappeared and would aim at the neck anyway) - at best it would allow better deflection from shrapnel coming from above. Since many injuries were caused by collapsing trenches and tunnels, it's designed as an integrated crumple zone - getting hit with a heavy piece of timber on the top of the head was a real risk, and this part mitigated it a LOT. It's part of the reason it was kept even in the firemen helmet up to the 1980's, and its F1 replacement includes an integrated crest for that very reason.
Nice Adrians I have 2. My first is a French M26 size A with 1920s paint anf post ww2 paint. It has an original badge and liner but a repro chinstrap. My 2nd is an Italian M15/16 Ww1 helmet it still has its original liner chinstrap and paint.
I have an Adrian helmet with no rivets anywhere on the outside except for the crest. The bails are small. I have no idea where it came from. I paid 20 bucks for it. Can you help me identify it?
Great video, big fan of your channel! Quick question, have you ever come across a blue horizon color WW1 Russian Adrian? (I know those were normally painted green). Thank you!
I recently got a Adrian helmet with 6 holes around the helmet and with the comb being welded on was wondering if you could tell me more because I can’t find anything on the internet
World War Guy Ah ,ok, np im just very interested in medic/jeep "driver" stuff because i have to choose some personalities without guns and swasikas! (Reenactment in germany is hard ... D:/)
Mine has no badge, the liner is gone and it's been obviously repainted. Cost me $15.00. It looks like the first one you showed. I have no idea of its origin or age.
The French (and Belgian, among others) Engineer badge isn't Napoleonic era armor, rather it's based on Roman armor (if the Roman's wore solid curaiss), including a Roman helmet.

I AM it sounds like it’s a ww1 Italian Adrian. If it is that, that’s a really good find.

You find belgian helmets in Kansas ? Wow, bravo because they are not easy to find in Belgium :-)
One was off line and the three in the video are from Belgium when I went.
Could you do a video about Medic "stuff" ?
At the moment, no, because I only have about two items, it would not be very descriptive.

Nice vid
Thank you
My man, you should seriously consider doing Free French stuff. Seriously under-interpreted aspect of the war.
Nice belgian helmets :-)
Thank you.

Thank you for the correction.
No that's a common misconception, it is indeed a napoleonic cuirass, not roman. The helmet is a cuirassier helmet from the 1800s.
1st ^^
