Last week, Tenzin Paldon, a Tibetan woman representing Tibet at an international beauty pageant in Cambodia faced an abrupt end when the Chinese government exerted pressure on the organizers. The incident has raised concerns about transnational political pressure from China infringing on the freedom of expression and representation of Tibetans at global events.
