Hi everyone. Just wanted to share a happy ending with you. Maisie ended up finding a foster family through Ace of Hearts (who changed her name to Fleur). I met Fleur at an adoption event in Hollywood and fell in love. My bf and I adopted her and we are now almost at our 1 year anniversary of adopting Fleur. She is sweeter than ever, loves to cuddle, and thinks her dad (my boyfriend) is the coolest guy in the world. I walk her every morning, and she goes to work with her dad every day, and comes home to her favorite toys and a soft bed each night. We love her dearly. Thank you Hope for Paws for finding her and bringing her into our lives! Please continue your amazing work saving the lives of these sweet animals. #alldogsarebeautiful :)
Yay! This is awesome. She looks like such a beautiful soul bless her. I'll love to have a pit bull but sadly they are banned in this country which sucks. It's a shame some cruel and selfish people have given these gentle creatures such a bad name.

My experience with cats is they're opportunistic and will death stare you if they happen to be in the bathroom with you. But one of my dogs is my shadow. Get up to go to the kitchen? Winston is there. Get up to walk 5 feet thataway? Winston's got your back! Go up to the master bath to poop in peace? Winston's there to stare and wiggle his butt with happiness.
my cat follows me everwhere but its only like 90% because it wants to and likes me...the other 10% is because he doesnt trust me and wants to keep tabs on me..
Illini Jen Please don't make this into another argument about Cats vs Dogs (Sorry If your not, not trying to attack you or anything) :( Everyone has different experiences with different animals, my cat follows me everywhere and shows me so much affection, she'll carry on like crazy if she can't get into the bathroom with me and shes always looking at me with such love in her eyes. All animals are different, sometimes you'll meet the animal stereotype quite often but that doesn't make them all the same. Forget about just getting a dog, get both if you have the room, time and love :) All animals need love and if you treat them with such then they'll do the same. Can't we all agree that animals are wonderful creatures who make our lives complete? :D Also kittens and puppies are cute and all but there's nothing like giving a home to an animal who's been neglected and needs to be shown true love like this beautiful dog.
Hi everyone, thanks for continuing to cheer Fleur on and supporting Hope for Paws! Just another update! We celebrated Fleur's 10th birthday last month (the adoption agency changed her name from Maisie to Fleur so that was her name when we met her). She is doing great, flourishing and happy and healthy with plenty of fun walks and play time every day. Since the pandemic, my husband and I began working from home so we get to spend even more time with Fleur these days! Fleur looks forward to a long walk every morning and daily afternoon play time with lots of snacks. I also give her doggy spa time daily, including paw balm on her pads and a mini foot massage each time. She is so loved. We send you our best wishes and hope you and your fur babies and families are also doing well!
although i m from Greece i try to donate every time i can to Hope for Paws cause i convinced that this man is a real guardian angel for these lovely animals
What struck me the most in this video was how quickly Maisie was gravitating to Eldad over the woman. Not that the woman doesn't love dogs but this just goes to show the "touch" Eldad has with them. I love each and every one of these videos. You are an animal superhero, Eldad! Thank you!!!!

This is an extremely touching video. We rescued a male pit. My wife never had a dog before and he is now so attached to her and my young son. He is such a blessing to us. I travel and he sleeps with her every night and is just a big baby. The lady we got him from did the same thing you did. The picture of him were horrific, but she nursed him back. Thank you!

The sad thing is, there are so many of them. ANY dog can kill or cause harm, but it's these sweet dogs that are hated by so many people. Would I be afraid if I happened upon a pit bull wandering around on its own? Maybe. But the ONLY dogs to ever fill me with fear were two German shepherds raised to be mean. They got loose in my neighborhood when I was little. My siblings and I were playing with a bunch of neighbor kids when they escaped from their yard - enclosed with a six or eight foot fence. We were hiding under a picnic table and trying to climb a tree to get away from them - and one still bit one of my brothers on his back and side. Never been attacked by a pit bull though...

Her countenance changed so much from the beginning to the end. In the beginning she looked MEAN. And the leash made her uneasy; she's been hurt before by an owner. I'm just amazed at how quickly you guys were able to rehabilitate her on the spot.

Dogs are color blind. If you use a beige colored leach they won't be so afraid because they will not see it coming. You are doing God's work! God Bless You.
Unfortunately I couldn't find Maisie anywhere on their site. Maybe that means she was adopted. I looked at every single page. Another problem for me is that the particular rescue that has her, says it's Mandatory that out of state adopters fly to there to meet the dog in person :/ Everytime I try to look into adopting a dog from these rescues, I'm unable to find the dog on the site listed. I'm hoping that's good news though, and that they've just already been adopted by the time these videos are uploaded!
Depending on when the rescue took place she could still be in the waiting period before being put up for adoption. As to meeting her first that just seems like a no brainer, they want to make sure everyone gets along before releasing her. They won't take any chances in not finding just the right person and having her returned.
J Cee I can understand the concern, but for me, it doesn't matter b/c when you adopt a dog you're committed. .forever...no matter what. Meaning that I go into it knowing that things may not be perfect, but I'm willing to take whatever steps necessary to make it perfect. If it requires training for her, I'd do it. If it means more education for me or training for me, I'd do it. You don't give up, and don't "give them back" or find them a new home just b/c things aren't ideal from day one. However, I know not everyone is the same way, so I guess that's why they do that.
Why does it have to be this girl. Your local animal shelter or pound will have many. Go for a visit and see for yourself. Your new best friend is waiting for you.
Ellen O I'm glad that you have that attitude but sad to say not all people do. I volunteered as a foster mom for a dog rescue where I live for 10 years and sometimes, even when everyone had already met there were a few returns. It's heartbreaking for the dog to see him turfed yet again, they lose confidence and turn into themselves then it takes a person with a lot of patience, understanding and love to help that dog come to life again. It's sad to watch especially if the dog is an older one who should be worrying about nothing more than how fluffy he can make his bed today. These rescue videos are great and they always tug at the heart but if you don't live close by and want to help maybe the $5 donation to www.hopeforpaws.org/ and then looking in your own area for a dog who needs you is the way to go.
Two weeks ago, my younger brother saw a pitbull in the middle of the street and immediately stopped to read it's tags and find its owner it stayed around him but wouldn't leave the darn street. He tried sincerely and called 911 but they said they couldn't help. He called me at 3am after trying to usher it out of the road, stopping cars by turning on his hazards and running into traffic, keeping himself between the dog and and vehicles for almost an hour. I got there asap but it was too late. Some mother fvcking bastard didn't even slow down, missed my brother by inches and hit the poor dog. After the dog was hit it darted into the neighborhood and we couldn't find it. We search every side street, apartment complex, closed businesses' lots and trash yards for several hours. It devastated him and saddened me greatly. I live in a western suburb of Detroit and would like to know who I can call at a late hour in case this happens again. Since this event I've read countless methods on how to lure a confused puppy if no help is available and have watched several videos for pointers. Some can be contradictory but if you can please post a video on what to do please do so. I'm sorry for the sad tale and I'm especially sorry for failing to save that dog. Pit Bull isn't a breed, it is a breed type under which many breeds fall. It would be the same as placing dogs used for hunting/retrieving under the term Sporting type dogs.

Unfortunately I couldn't find Maisie anywhere on their site. Maybe that means she was adopted. I looked at every single page. Another problem for me is that the particular rescue that has her, says it's Mandatory that out of state adopters fly to there to meet the dog in person :/ Everytime I try to look into adopting a dog from these rescues, I'm unable to find the dog on the site listed. I'm hoping that's good news though, and that they've just already been adopted by the time these videos are uploaded!
Depending on when the rescue took place she could still be in the waiting period before being put up for adoption. As to meeting her first that just seems like a no brainer, they want to make sure everyone gets along before releasing her. They won't take any chances in not finding just the right person and having her returned.
J Cee I can understand the concern, but for me, it doesn't matter b/c when you adopt a dog you're committed. .forever...no matter what. Meaning that I go into it knowing that things may not be perfect, but I'm willing to take whatever steps necessary to make it perfect. If it requires training for her, I'd do it. If it means more education for me or training for me, I'd do it. You don't give up, and don't "give them back" or find them a new home just b/c things aren't ideal from day one. However, I know not everyone is the same way, so I guess that's why they do that.

Why does it have to be this girl. Your local animal shelter or pound will have many. Go for a visit and see for yourself. Your new best friend is waiting for you.

I'm glad that you have that attitude but sad to say not all people do. I volunteered as a foster mom for a dog rescue where I live for 10 years and sometimes, even when everyone had already met there were a few returns. It's heartbreaking for the dog to see him turfed yet again, they lose confidence and turn into themselves then it takes a person with a lot of patience, understanding and love to help that dog come to life again. It's sad to watch especially if the dog is an older one who should be worrying about nothing more than how fluffy he can make his bed today.
These rescue videos are great and they always tug at the heart but if you don't live close by and want to help maybe the $5 donation to www.hopeforpaws.org/ and then looking in your own area for a dog who needs you is the way to go.
I sincerely hope that these videos featuring pitties will change peoples minds. It’s NOT the breed, it’s the people.

Two weeks ago, my younger brother saw a pitbull in the middle of the street and immediately stopped to read it's tags and find its owner it stayed around him but wouldn't leave the darn street. He tried sincerely and called 911 but they said they couldn't help. He called me at 3am after trying to usher it out of the road, stopping cars by turning on his hazards and running into traffic, keeping himself between the dog and and vehicles for almost an hour. I got there asap but it was too late. Some mother fvcking bastard didn't even slow down, missed my brother by inches and hit the poor dog. After the dog was hit it darted into the neighborhood and we couldn't find it. We search every side street, apartment complex, closed businesses' lots and trash yards for several hours. It devastated him and saddened me greatly. I live in a western suburb of Detroit and would like to know who I can call at a late hour in case this happens again.
Since this event I've read countless methods on how to lure a confused puppy if no help is available and have watched several videos for pointers. Some can be contradictory but if you can please post a video on what to do please do so.

I believe that's an american Staffordshire terrier
American stafford terriers are part of the pitbull family so thats why they probably misunderstood the breed.
+ Seb +My boring imagination She appears too big to be a pure bred Am Staff. I think she possibly is an AmStaff/Cane Corso (aka Italian Mastiff) hybrid. Pit Bull isn't a breed, it is a breed type under which many breeds fall. It would be the same as placing dogs used for hunting/retrieving under the term Sporting type dogs.
