these are the ones that hold only 1.5kg, there are better versions for both of these. smallrig 4102, up to 3.5kg, or ulanzi UURig R060 for much more mounting options on the clamp. I wouldn’t trust mounting my camera on any of the ones that only hold 1.5kg. And if you need an extension arm then the ifootage LT4-3.5 holds 6kg but im still looking for cheaper options
Hi there, this was a super useful video! Quick question, I am looking at getting the SmallRig to use for a DIY copy stand for film scaning. Do you think the SmallRig would be able to hold up a DSLR with a macro lens? Thanks in advance!
I have one similar to the small rig with the metal crank I find that if you're using it with a GoPro on a bicycle that the metal crank Jiggles around and you can hear it in your video it is very distracting so I just purchased a ulanzi we'll see how it works out
If you want a higher reach, get the r094, if you want the camera closer to the handle, get the r099. Both are pretty equal in quality, it just depends on the length you personally want to mount the camera.
I don't have a motorcycle, so I don't know what the full force would be like. You'll have to test this with your specific setup. The r094 feels sturdy to me, but again, your specific situation may not be sturdy enough.
The load capacity for each is around 3 lbs, so that can fit anything between a GoPro to 7" camera monitor. This is not good for mirrorless cameras or anything heavier than 3 lbs. Even a device that is exactly 3 lbs might be too heavy. Also not great for mounting on bikes or moving vehicles.
Maybe for short trips without bumps and using a very light camera like a GoPro. Otherwise, I would not trust this on long trips with a bumpy road and harsh weather.

Smallrig also has the same claw mount that ulanzi has but in a deep blue.

Not really. Maybe a small camera, like a Sony ZV-E10 with 16-50mm kit lens, but not a midsize or large camera.

All rig is crap. I have one and the screw gets cross threaded if you clamp it tight enough to hold anything.
The Ulanzi clamps are absolutely better - they feel way more secure and don't slip.
Yeah, if the price is similar, I'd choose Ulanzi.
