How satisfying it is to serve our purpose on earth by serving God. And what a joy it is to know, as Jeremiah did, that when we experience rejection and confusion, we can take our concerns honestly to God.

The people of Israel in Jeremiah's time rejected the all powerful, all knowing God. God loved so much and wanted to bless them. But they lived as though He didn't exist. They continued to pursue the direction that was the complete opposite of the way of the Lord. So God gave them over to their desires. And sad thing is that no one can truly fulfill the desires of the heart apart from God. God just wants to make our heart functional so that we can worship Him. But He doesn't force anyone. The people of Israel and Judah completely rejected God. And the truth is the only other alternative to God is Satan. We cannot just assume we can put up a white flag and the enemy will stop trying to destroy us. This is what Israel in the days of Jeremiah wanted to assume. The enemy will not stop until he completely destroys everything God has created. True peace is only found in God. It's so sad what happens when we turn away from God. If there is one thing we must learn from this lesson it is to repent and turn to God for deliverance from sin. We must believe in His promise to deliver us from sin no matter what! He is always ready to help us. He is always there for us! He is 100% trustworthy! Praise the Lord! No matter how difficult things get there is always a way of escape and it's only through the Lord Jesus who is God.
