    Hi what is the connection when you poured the concrete to the footing first. Then after 28 day you poured pedestal column, Is it pinned connection?
    If so then when i poured the footing and pedestal monotically. I created a fixed foundation?

    Thank you, so when would you ever need a pinned connection? I'd just use fixed on all columns to capture all reaction forces and moments. Could you explain?

    Why can't we provide bolt on minor axis side like major axis ? Why instead go for bracing ?

    • @TonmoyMaity
      @TonmoyMaity  6 месяцев назад

      at bottom you have to use ball and socket type base

    How can I provide pinned support in both the directions????...in your example it is pinned in one direction and fixed in other....also how do i model in software if it is pinned in one and fixed in other direction

    • @TonmoyMaity
      @TonmoyMaity  3 года назад

      If you want pinned in both directions, put the bolts within flanges (in case of I section). But in that case you have to provide bracing in both directions.
      If you want to model in software , release the moment in the direction about which you want pinned connection.

      @@TonmoyMaityThanks for your response. what about connection between column and base plate in case of pinned connection. Only the web should be welded to base plate or flanges and web both will be welded to base plate???
