A lot of selvedge denim is Japanese denim. But it will say it somewhere that it was made from Japanese selvedge denim. Levi’s for example has a separate tag that says it’s Japanese selvedge denim.
If you run into Belstaff jeans for men its a good pick up. Str is a little low. 41 listed in pre owned 18 sold, but anywhere from 40-200. Its a hipster biker vibe jean usually with a double knee, and/or waxed. The 2 pairs ive run across sold within 48 hrs for 75+
I completely agree. If you find Gap Japanese selvedge jeans you are looking at 80-100% STR and $50-90 typically. If you find gap jeans with button fly, there is a high probability they are selvedge.
On the material tag for diesel jeans, it provides the manufacture date in European format. The various washes are limited editions and they will give you the lot number total and what your jeans is within that lot. Another tip on diesels which are duped, if it doesn’t have the Indian head size tag, it is more then likely fake. I love selling diesels and g star raw jeans. I actually buy them from fleek wholesale to resale.
Great info. I’ll definitely commit all of those details to memory. Ironically I just sourced my first pair of G Star Raw jeans and will be covering them in a video for this coming Thursday. Great tip on the fake Diesel jeans too. Thank you so much!
@@MGM8779 there is a style code typically on the material tag along with a style name for gstar raw. I have found the arc 3d jeans and button fly jeans sell the best at least for me. The zipper jeans still sell but typically for $30-35 and lower STR. Button fly GSR I can generally get $40-50. GSR jeans are what made me a denim head. I can’t wait to watch your video this week.
I sell a lot of jeans. The sell through rate is down due to summer. It is making it a little more difficult to check comps on some items. But that's why it is down. Thank you for making these videos!
I just sell part time, but I do almost exclusively jeans plus shorts in the summer. Not sure if I heard every brand you mentioned, it was great list. One of the best I ever sold was Filson. Others I didn't hear on your list were Tommy Jeans with the big flag and Polo with the flag on the back, and Guess Jeans with the triangle. One of the other really good ones is Makobi. Thanks for sharing you knowledge!!! I will have to watch some of you other videos.
Those are all great suggestions for jeans that you mentioned. I will definitely keep an eye out for them. Thank you for watching and supporting our channel.
Mott & Bow is a new brand and public rec for me both are good $35 and up pre-owned. Cult of individuality is a good selvedge denim brand that sells fo $45- $200. Ive recently found these brands here in Texas. Lots of Ariat.
Thank you for this! I wonder if the sell through rates for jeans get worse in the summer, and then go back up during fall and winter? Maybe that’s why a lot of the sell through rates seemed to go down, now that the weather is heating up and people are more likely to buy shorts.
Hey guys! I watched this video this morning and found a pair of men’s The Perfect Jean NYC while thrifting today for $4! Thanks for the heads-up! Very informative, as always. Is it possible to include a typed out summary of brands at the end of the video kind of like you did with your Ralph Lauren video? I screenshot that summary and refer back to it often. I know, I could just type it out myself, so if it’s too much work it’s no problem at all. 🤣 I look forward to these types of videos as I value your experience and the facts you share.
I’m so happy to hear you found one of the brands I talked about in this video. That makes it all so worth it for us. I hope they sell fast and for great profit! Unfortunately we didn’t have time to include a list of the brands in this video.
Not sure if you have ever mentioned this or not, but a very big BOLO is Grease Point jeans. You will be shocked as to what their used jeans are getting. It is my true Holy Grail to find.
I’ve never heard of Grease Point jeans until your comment but I just went and looked it up and… WOW!!! They’re really really good! I will be on the lookout. Thanks for sharing.
Good to know. Ironically, we just recently sourced our first pair of Seven Dojo women’s jeans and they’re currently listed. Are the new ones worth the same as the old or less?
Do you think time of year has anything to do with the sell through of pants? Going into summer I can see it dropping and then pick back up in the fall.
Good morning, I just wanted to add a brand to your list of high profit jeans. You may have mentioned this in your first video on jeans and I missed it. I came upon this by accident. Was looking for a denim jacket and this brand came up. Looking at the label, they sell denim jackets and jeans for a huge amount of money. The brand is called IRON HEART. 200 to $300 is common. Thought I would pass this along as I have learned about so many brands from you. Let me know if this is something you already knew about please. Hoping to find a pair, probably never will. Love watching you You're so clear and precise, you do a great job on showing the tags along with great information. Thanks, Linda
I have never heard of that brand. You just taught us something new. I will definitely store it away and be on the lookout for it. Thank you so much for sharing that great tip and thank you for your kind words and support. That means a lot!
Is the lower sell through rate due to it being summer? Its too hot here in AZ to be wearing jeans, so less people buying, then sellers have to reduce the price to sell . The reason selvedge jeans cost more is because they are made from edge of the bolt of denim where the manufacturer reinforsed the edges of the denim to stop it fraying. This is prime real estate because you can only get so many cuts where the selvedge is incorporated. This is how it was explained to me, I haven't come across any yet. Later, Michaela.
So I found a pair of Diesel jeans at goodwill last week. They looked really cool and in excellent condition. When I was looking at them at home, I noticed the care tag was cut out. Everything else is authentic (I double checked that 😂). But anyhow, not having the care tag, will that lower the value of the jeans? Thanks and love your videos.
I have sourced my first pair of Diesel jeans just recently myself so I don’t have an extensive history of reselling the brand but I’m of the opinion that if they’re authentic, you won’t lose value with it missing the care tag. If they’re in a good condition, I would list them for the fair market value. Thank you for your kind words. That means a lot!
OMG! I feel like a party crasher. Add Imogene + Willie to your men’s denim list. Men’s has a better STR than women’s. I sold a Selvedge pair for $100 3 days ago.
Peter Millar southern comfort, polo short sleeve. Are they still a pick up you think I just passed on two of them STR not too great. My GW had them for six bucks so I passed on them. Good move or not. Thanks again.
@@mjvexpressllcWe are selective with Peter Millar Summer Comfort polos. If they’re the same size you can try lotting them up and sell together… some resellers have said that helps them sell faster. Other than that, we pass unless it’s an “all over print” or if it has a popular golf course or college logo on it.
I’m using earbuds and the voice is only audible in my right ear bud- if I only listen on the left ear bud there is no voice. So maybe something while recording or editing the video is making the voice only go through one side of the audio output… if that makes sense.

Don't forget that summer isn't peak time to sell jeans. Its not surprising to see a dip in demand this time of year.

Some more BOLO brands!
Freenote (83%, $50-$120+, Only 73 listed)

Rogue Territory (62%, $70+)
Kiton Jeans (61%, $100-250+)
Amiri (40%, $100-$500+, Designer brand)
