I don't really know a whole lot about the BLM organization specifically, but I do know there are plenty of organizations out there that the public perception of them is way different than how they're actually ran. Many many years ago I was sentenced to 105 hours of community service at a local Goodwill store. I was blown away when I found out that they are just a purely for profit thrift store chain. Growing up, everyone in my family and anyone else I ever heard talk about Goodwill made them out to be this great charity. "Donate whatever you want to them and they'll sell some of it to keep people employed and keep the business running, but everything else all the clothes, shoes, furniture, etc. they then donate to needy people in the community or other countries." I found out this is absolutely not the case and, at least the Goodwill's in my city, did little to no community outreach or made donations internationally. The store that I was serving at was actually making over $2million in sales a year, and none of that was going back into the community. I was told by other workers at the store that they sift through all the donations that come in and they piece out what they think they can resell at the store, the more expensive items that they send off to their online auction house, and that everything else not desirable just goes into the trash. I couldn't believe it. The online auction site alone regularly sells items for $10k+, all from donations. I'm not trying to bash Goodwill or anything. None of their advertisements that I've seen or heard make mention of charitable work or that portions of proceeds go back into the community. I'm highlighting the extreme difference between what the public perception of the organization is and what it's actually like inside of it. I'm a capitalist and Goodwill can make all the money they possibly can, but many peoples perception of what the business is, and the community benefit from their donations to Goodwill are vastly different.
Like the Wounded Warrior Project. They paid themselves first and held some lavish soirees. Eventually getting around to doing some good for wounded vets.

I don't really know a whole lot about the BLM organization specifically, but I do know there are plenty of organizations out there that the public perception of them is way different than how they're actually ran.
Many many years ago I was sentenced to 105 hours of community service at a local Goodwill store. I was blown away when I found out that they are just a purely for profit thrift store chain. Growing up, everyone in my family and anyone else I ever heard talk about Goodwill made them out to be this great charity. "Donate whatever you want to them and they'll sell some of it to keep people employed and keep the business running, but everything else all the clothes, shoes, furniture, etc. they then donate to needy people in the community or other countries."
I found out this is absolutely not the case and, at least the Goodwill's in my city, did little to no community outreach or made donations internationally. The store that I was serving at was actually making over $2million in sales a year, and none of that was going back into the community. I was told by other workers at the store that they sift through all the donations that come in and they piece out what they think they can resell at the store, the more expensive items that they send off to their online auction house, and that everything else not desirable just goes into the trash. I couldn't believe it. The online auction site alone regularly sells items for $10k+, all from donations.
I'm not trying to bash Goodwill or anything. None of their advertisements that I've seen or heard make mention of charitable work or that portions of proceeds go back into the community. I'm highlighting the extreme difference between what the public perception of the organization is and what it's actually like inside of it. I'm a capitalist and Goodwill can make all the money they possibly can, but many peoples perception of what the business is, and the community benefit from their donations to Goodwill are vastly different.
You'd be surprised how many non profits are paying their CEO,COO, executives etcetc...100k plus per year.

Non profit means they aren't charging a premium, there is still operating costs. As a non profit you can draw a paycheck as the CEO etc and give yourself huge bonuses etc etc but your company cannot be generating a "profit" note the quotations. As neither a liberal or conservative but as a white male I agree black lives matter but some non profit organization means nothing because we don't want there to even be a need for the statement let alone any form of organization that needs to declare their lives matter. It should be self evident that black lives matter, regardless of what racist says what black men and women built America alongside the white men and women. Without the black or white people we would not be in this great country working on being better.
Simple solution: Just transfer all would-be profits into pay rises and bonuses for the leaders of the organisation. Problem solved.
