- Fields of Green is the next single from my new album. I've started to write lyrics and record my own voice from time to time and Fields of Green is the first piece I've worked on that I felt needed words rather than instruments to say what I wanted to say. The photo I paired with the music is of the farm I grew up on in rural Nebraska in the 1990s. Our home is just behind the trees on the left side of the frame.
Much of the album flows from returning to the beautiful years I had on that land before life got complicated. The recordings of birds that come in halfway through were recorded standing in that very driveway overlooking the Logan Valley just after a thunderstorm last June. It was heaven. I never knew what was calling me back out to Nebraska a handful of years ago when I started writing this collection of songs, but I'm glad I listened...
There's also an instrumental version of Fields of Green available on all streaming services today as well as an ambient interpretation of Fields of Green called Meadowlark.
I'll have new music releasing each month this year. I hope you enjoy Fields of Green for the time being...

I wish my son was still alive, he passed tragically 2 years ago and when I listen to Tony I think of him. He would have adored this music, so I think of him and will play some tracks when I visit his resting place. I feel connected to him with this stunning music. Thank you so much xx

I have been listening to you for 5 years now and I've must say you write the most overwhelming songs, in a good way. Sometimes I'm not even able to finish them, and If do so, it's always out of breath. This feels so spacious, airy and all-embracing, like this song hugs you and cradles you on waves. I love both the music and the lyrics 💚
Every form of music I listen to leaves me feeling like something's missing. I found Eyes Wide Open when I was 16 and I realized that it was that exact type of music I love most. This is the music I've listened to going through Bible College and even now being in ministry. This music I think gives me a sense of what it will be like to finally be in the presence of God, free from all tears, all pain, all suffering, and to see all the work fulfilled. It will be solemn, but beautiful. Thank you, Tony, you've genuinely been a huge part of my life.

I miss the Fields of Green, Tony. In Illinois, they thought I was so weird because of my elation whenever our car would rise out of the glacial river valleys and ascend to the place where the land touches the sky... I had to explain; in North Carolina, you have to climb high atop a mountain to touch the sky, yet the horizon is still so far away. But here, the horizon is always just before you, and infinity is always a footstep just ahead. In these places, infinity is right there with you; you don't have to climb mountains to get a glimpse of what the clouds touch.
This music reconnect me with emotionally positive moments from my pasts. Such a masterpiece ! I really appreciate you my brother ! ❤️😊

THANK YOU!!!!! I spent so many hours recording and then re recording it...and then mixing it and making it sound too thin and to muted...then I just gave up and un-did all of my mixing work and left the recordings as close to the originals as possible.
