How does this compare to using an oil primer such as Gamblin Oil Primer? Pros and cons of each? Still need to use GAC100? Thanks!

I am wondering if it might be advisable to also seal and prime the back and edges? Do we need to leave the back open so that moisture can escape? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Thanks so much for quick answer! If I am not sealing the edges, then I probably don't want to paint them with oil paint as part of the finished work? Or does that matter?

polly furr You can’t still paint with oil paint even if the edges aren’t sealed.

You mean that it is okay to paint the edges with oils as part of my painting, even if the edges are not sealed or primed with gesso prior to that?

polly furr Sorry, misunderstood you. I thought you meant painting oil on the sealed panel. I wouldn’t recommend painting the edges at all
