  • This 20-minute tutorial covers the basics of using The Photographer's Ephemeris in your web browser. To follow along, make sure you have created a free account first, and sign in.
    You'll cover some basics around the screen layout and user interface, and then explore what data is shown related to the sun. Next you will learn how to search for a new location, see how the light falls on the land at different times of year and how to identify optimal times to shoot a landscape photography location.

    💥I just used the app version of this to tonight.
    I put the cross pattern on a lighthouse out in the water and dropped a pin on it. Then I dragged the timeline at the bottom left and right until it was on the moonrise time and I watched the line move around.
    I stood in the spot but I was about 200 yards to the right and had to run left along the shoreline and missed that perfect moment when the moon was at a specific height in the sky. I don’t understand why it was so far off.

      At the time on the location it was so far off but 5 hours later now as I’m home it seems to be spot on. It’s showing exactly where I ran to. That’s not doing me any good now that im back in my kitchen 😤😤
