    Awesome collection on just the loose carts! Loved some of the shout outs you gave to some hidden gems in there like Shatterhand that I just got myself a few weeks ago that is so much fun. Looking forward to your boxed NES games now!

    i haven't gotten real into collecting variants yet myself..if i have a 3-screw version and a 5-screw version of the same game, generally i'll just hang onto the 5-screw version unless there is some major difference in rarity/price between the two...same goes for the whole circle seal vs. oval seal thing...generally i'll just keep the older of the two

    • @Grimsie42
      @Grimsie42  10 лет назад

      I think that's what I'll do also, but most of the variants that I have aren't really valuable so it's OK to hang on to them for now :)

    Bucky O Hare is awesome. Gotta get around to that. You could probably play through it pretty quickly. The end of the game is a bit tricky but overall it isn't super difficult

    Wow great collection Grimsie!! The greatest part about collecting is the hunt. The worst part is never having enough time to play the games you find.

    • @Grimsie42

  • @TheGameBench
    @TheGameBench 10 лет назад

    Yeah, it's funny. I've had to show people that Battletoads/Double Dragon came on the NES. I've been told so many times it only came out on the Genesis and the SNES. It's one of my favorite NES games. I'm just glad I got it from Funcoland long before the prices skyrocketed.

    • @Grimsie42
      @Grimsie42  10 лет назад +1

      I miss Funcoland :( Also I think there were a few more that came out on NES, and also SNES...

      ***** Sadly we only had 1 Funcoland in my area, and it went out of business pretty fast. We did have a Babbages in my area for years, and years until Gamestop absorbed it all :)

    My friend’s hobby is to go through his friends houses and clean out their houses. Basically his payment is what he can find in the house. He found a copy of Ducktales 2. He sold it to me for a dollar. I even offered him $50. He declined and sold it to me for a dollar. One time he found an entire Atari console with a ton of games. He traded me the console, the controls, and like 20 games that came with it, for a paintball gun I owned.
    He doesn’t do it as often anymore, but knowing people is always a good start.

    Good collection. I'm sure you are much further along now than you were then 2 1/2 years ago. I was about where you were at that point, actually. I've completed my licensed set just recently. All 677 cartridges. I also have 87/90 of the unlicensed games. I consider my NES cart collection 'complete' because all of us have our own idea of what 'complete' is. Would be nice to see an update vid from you.

      @VinnieBlackLodge 10 лет назад

      ahh i was thinking he ment Metal Storm as its worth 50 and this is nes related vid. but yeah the Snes metal warriors is 140-180. if you really hunted hard you might get it as low as 100-120 i think i paid 112 for mine over xmas. atm its 180 on the price charts bouncing back and fourth from around 155.

    • @VinnieBlackLodge
      @VinnieBlackLodge 10 лет назад

      well you do bring up a good point. i have 1-2 local stores in all of stl that i actually do find deals at. one guy doesnt even use internet he goes buy what his in and out sales are over the years. i got a cib linus space head for dirt cheap once and a copy of die hard for 3$ ! traded that one to a fellow youtuber to pass on the savings. he would put a rare game out a few times a week in the normal bin to stimulate the collectors frequent returns and it works. i also got a copy of demon crest for 15 dollars when it was already hitting 40-60 a few years back i remember.

    Very nice collection (so far). Alot of rare games and variants.
    You are certainly doing yourself a disservice if you have not played Days of Thunder. My advice is watch the movie first. The game is more of a stock car simulator and it follows the movie in many regards.
    Also Wall Street Kid is one of my favs.

    awesome and thanks for the nod but quick question if the games you have boxed are not next to the loose ones and you wanna play say like mega man 2 in the box arent you afraid you might damage the box getting the game out?

      Because when dealing with 30 year old games (some valued in the $100's+)

      Grimsie42 Yes. It's definitely a gem that's on par with Metroid, Castlevania and other side scrolling action adventure games. Can't believe I'm 27:(

    Bucky O Hare is awesome. Gotta get around to that. You could probably play through it pretty quickly. The end of the game is a bit tricky but overall it isn't super difficult

      +mingkey Just simple 7 shelf CD shelves from Walmart. NES carts are similar in size to CD's :)
