I couldn't stand him when he was in power, but 30 years later I realise how little I knew and how brilliant he was and still is.

The man is a towering legend in Australian politics. I knew he was instrumental in providing Super to all Australians, floating the dollar and opening up the economy to the world. I had no idea another of his achievements was preserving this headland. He is completely correct - left in the hands of the NSW state government, there would have just been high rise apartment buildings from one end to the other.

Paul achieved much he was a cultured pearl of Australian politics if he had his way he would have turned Pine Gap into a football stadium and a Casino, the man had vision and character.

I detested Paul Keating when I younger. He was way too abrasive in his use of language (so I thought). These days, I enjoy listening to him. He seems to be very thoughtful. I'd vote for him.

He paints a big picture, takes time to understand. Just like he said about super, along with Japan and Netherlands Australia us a net exporter of capital thanks to super,so we don't have to go hat in hand begging for capital. He is golden
