that was my seat leon cupra R , thanks for the video - was so much to take on board on the day so its nice to go back over and see what was actually there !
Great video again as always! I love your enthusiasm for cars that get overlooked completely. Quote of the day "I think there are more surviving mexicos than they ever built"... yep you've captured my feelings entirely on the subject!
Excellent vlog Hubnutters,, watched this with my 20 yr old daughter who established a liking for red classics especially anything Triumph, MG & American muscle. Wales is full of red cars (naturally) so she was kept fully entertained and she also found your laconic delivery, tone, passion, understatement & knowledge most relaxing, as do I. Thank you both 👍👍
What a great way to spend a day! Row after row of interesting cars, and a wonderful display of stationary engines. Could spend hours just wandering back and forth. Thank you for your endless knowledge of all the cars.
Thank you Ian and Carly for the tour. It amazes me how many facts and anecdotes you reel off. The commentary from you both adds so much depth. 40:20 Seat Leon ♥️ The one that got away! The car I really wanted in the early 2000's.
A few 4 door Lotus Cortinas were apparently made for the East Anglia Constabulary. Whether that is one I doubt. Just loved that Nissan 310 and the Vauxhall Firenze 'Droop'
Thanks for taking us to this amazing car show. At present we do all enjoy our freedom to meet people and have nice petrol based conversations, don't we...? 😍🚘😍
First time seeing a wild 240 for a while! Great show walk around guys, saw a few people we know. As always... Ian's car knowledge is more than impressive!
Mr and mrs hubnut awesome videos, as always i was glad to meet you both at this brilliant show in pembrokeshire 🤣 thankyou for your video we were the volkswagen family at the show 👋👍😀 it was a brilliant show and lovely sunny day 🤣 it was our first time at this show also. we will be coming back next year for sure ,hope to catch up soon , thanks from us all for the video you put on your channel 👍😀
A very enjoyable hour. It was interesting for me to see the Ambassador as my father had a company one new in 1982! CAH 310Y in a maroon colour (Damask red?) it’s first long journey being from Norfolk to Llangollen in North Wales. Nice shirt...
13:47 Pop-up headlamps will be Gen 5. Four sculpted headlamps will be Gen 6. Usually silver with rust and a knackered engine will be Gen 7. Would have liked to swap some of the MKII Escorts for some Hillman Avengers.
Fun fact, Roy brown, the man who designed the Edsel, such was his failure, was banished from Detroit and sent to Dagenham, and there designed the Mk1 Cortina. He was allowed back after that.
Fantastic Video and so many lovely classics modern, classic and Retro, too many cars to choose from to pick a car of the show for me. Thanks for sharing Ian and Carly.
Saab 90 was poverty-model, a successor for 99. So it's basically 99 facelifted (or should i say butt lifted 😄) with 900 rear end, only 2-door sedan was available. All of them were made in Finland.🇫🇮 Thank you for very nice video, what a show. 👍
Well for 2 consecutive Tuesdays I've got sunburnt driving my 981 Boxster S in North Wales & as I can usually see the Clwyds from my back window I think the Welsh weather is mistakenly much maligned.
@@MrOvershoot I was in Pembroke in Feb 2013, visiting my Aunt ( I live in Sydney, Australia). The sky was clear, it was a beautiful late winter day. Driving back to London, the gritters were out on the M4!
Absolutely brilliant video Ian 👍 what a beautiful car show I had tears in my eyes when I saw the vx490 I used to have one back in the day my cousin gave it to me
Brilliant video Ian & Carly, I can't imagine how hard it is to get that shot at a busy car show. As usual some people show an alarming lack of spatial awareness that there is anyone else in the world other than them 😕
Fantastic video! There are so many classic British car brands which never made their way over to the continent, so I am constantly amazed about the amount of different 60s/70s cars which are super common for you people, but which we have never heard of here in Germany.
What a great show it's good to see a selection of modern classics in the line up with the classics. I might be considering visiting one of the Statfold Barn Railway classic car events at the moment the Road, Rail and Ale event seems tempting as they are celebrating 100 years of Scammel so there will be various commercial vehicles made by them along with classic cars, other commercial vehicles, steam engines and other vehicles, plus the railway will be running their trains and tram.
MG Magnette trivia: you could buy a ZB with the big back window in single colour paint, but they still called it a Varitone. The little MG Midget next to the Turner belongs to a mate of mine; it has a ~200 bhp K series engine!
Always a treat to watch these videos. Much as I admire and marvel at the likes of a Camaro or a Mercedes SL, I do love the "bread and butter" cars like the A35s and the Maestros and Cortinas, etc.
Ian! The breath and depth of your knowledge never ceases to amaze me! Just a quick piece of trivia for you: you mentioned after seeing the Jaguar (sorry, can't remember which one!) Inspector Morse drove one in the TV series, but in the books he drove a Lancia!
Wow what an interesting video of classic vintage, vehicles to later classic cars. Great footage done by Miss Hubnut as always. Here's to seeing the next classic vehicle event that you go to.
Great meeting, so much variety! I had a mk3 Golf cabriolet, it also had the tinted rear lamps. They moved the numberplate to the rear bumper and added the mk4 steering wheel. The dashboard was largely mk3 but with some nicer materials.
00:30 A friend had an MG ZL, which he owned for many years. A very comfortable car which I travelled in on a number of occasions. He had replaced the exhaust with a home-made stainless steel one with a square section tailpipe, because the original needed parts replacing about every 18 months. The homebrew one lasted for well over a decade, and was still fine when he gave the car away, some 20 years ago. When that car pulled away, the revs could be allowed to drop almost to zero without stalling, because of the long stroke engine. The low revs gave the clutch a very easy time, and made it much more reliable.
36:40 " I dont even know what this van is" says Ian. I could tell straight away it was a Ford Thames by the metal engine cover. My father bought one and converted it into a camper. I rode 100's of miles on that engine cover as a kid (no seat belts), very warm in summer. Cover was held down by 2 rubber hooks and metal retainers, gashed my leg on one of the metal retainers, still got the scar to prove it.
Thank you both for a really enjoyable show review. Looked like a great selection of vehicles, nice to see a mix of old, newer, commercial, vintage, mint, daily etc. Will have to put that event on my calendar for next year. 👍
I’m sure HubNut would hate my cars. I’ve always enjoyed watching HubNut, always entertaining and interesting, I don’t have the time or patience dealing with the oddities in car taste he has…
Loved seeing this fabulous turnout of classics. Very many unusual and interesting vehicles. The Jewett Jupiter was my favourite. The bonnet was extraordinary and the engine must be a good listen. It would be brilliant if you could get to drive one.
My grandad had a Renault 18 GTX estate from new - had really nice wheels! Was an absolute awesome car at the time, very fond memories. My dad had 25’s which were also very underrated cars, supposedly unreliable but he never had any issues with either.
Great upload Ian and Miss Hubnut, an hour well spent . Looking forward to to the wiper review of the Humber at 43.56. What geometrical shape of doom will it be.

Top video; many thanks. I hope you get to look at the Fiat Bianchina van more closely sometime. You reminded me how popular A35 vans were in Cornwall too. I remember there being quite a lot of E and F plates as they were made for over eight years after the car production ended. I've an idea they were quite cheap as well; maybe latterly even cheaper than a Mini van. There's a Stimson Scorcher round here too.

A very nice tour of such interesting cars, even the more humble ones! Also amazing to me, even as a Yank, how enormous the U.S. "iron" is, compared w/ most anything else there, except maybe the Scannia and Volvo trucks! The 'Vette looks like a C7 (7th generation), and looks very similar to Cleetus McFarland's own steed. Enjoyed the rapport between you and Ms. HubNut, as always...I think you ought to get a test of that Stimson Scorcher; looks like a hoot!
