I just listened to this and was blessed by your insights into this subject. Many of these truths I had already embraced and they helped me get through the worst time in my life. Romans 8:28 was especially helpful.
I was walking 🚶♀️ with my over filled, heavy backpack 🎒 yesterday (I do not own a car), plastic grocery bags in both hands. As I stepped out of the parking lot, turning to start up the hill, I felt tortured by the overload. My first thought was to ask the Lord for help, as I took a few steps, I said to my LORD, “Jesus, I could sure use a ride about now; what do you think? I kid you not, not more than three steps later a beautiful white van pulled up with a women’s who’s step son lives above me in the apartment complex, as I was walking home. How amazing is His care 🙂
It is so true that terrible things happen to everyone all the time. Prosperity gospel churches ply the same lies that the Pharisees of Jesus' day did. If you are wealthy and healthy, you are blessed by God for being good. If you are poor or sick, it is God's judgment on you for things you have done. It makes no sense when you see millionaires who are obviously crooks, living amazing lives. People need to be pitied, respected and helped.
Ty there’s some things ppl do that we’ll never understand. After the pain & suffering end… with hindsight laying everything bare there’s some things you won’t be able to understand. Examples like why would a husband kill his wife & his children. Oh, he had “his” reason but it’s not one that we’ll understand or relate to. Bc.. some things are so horrific, evil … you won’t have words for. And no explanation or reason from the wicked one who inflicted it upon you will you “understand” them. Or it. We need to accept the cold reality… that evil is found in ppl. You don’t terrorize or oppress someone to get whatever it is you want from them. You don’t kill, steal & destroy.. or violate someone’s identity with lies. I realize… you can’t get that thru to ppl who’ve given themselves over to evil as a means to get what they want. Or keep. They rationalize it in their minds. And some won’t give it a second thought. I can tell you what you can be sure will be there when the suffering has ceased. It won’t be understanding, but you’ll know without a doubt there’s no way you could’ve made it thru it without God. You’ll be able to trace His presence more clearly & acutely as a fingerprint. During our immense suffering, we fail to see that He’s very much involved still. Intricately woven into our pain & suffering not only our blessings. For the most part, you’ll understand it after the pain & suffering has ceased. Good ppl make mistakes. You’ll grow & see that the pettiness of a coworker had more to do with them than it did you. In that, we find understanding. But we don’t gain understanding from evil acts. There needs to be a line between these. A clearly drawn one or else, you’ll not know the difference anymore. Nor will you be sensitive to it. You’ll be lost. And some… will be blind to their own destruction. If it’s understanding you need to identify what’s happening to you & around you. If it’s clarity you need. If it’s the truth you seek. It’s all been written in those Holy scriptures. That’s the reality of the situation if you will, we’re in. I believe you’re right. Relational integrity is the reason, the purpose of this life. what are we doing here? We’re here to choose. There’s only 2 real directions… & only one Way to eternal life & Life here too. We’re here to choose. And for those that choose evil, you’ll find that choosing the gift of God brings suffering & pain from the risky reality based on the free will from those who chose evil. For many choose evil.. & Many already have. We were given this great commission to bring ppl to Christ. Yet, it’s only by the Holy Spirit will they hear. For this, do not lose heart or be discouraged. As Paul said, suffering & pain are but for a short time & nothing this world has to offer can be reckoned with the things of God’s Kingdom. We know all the words to say to encourage ourselves. Then the test comes… do you believe in Him. Do you really. Can you be faithful in the midst of the wicked prospering & afflicting you. Here’s where many fall away. The road of Salvation is narrow & few find it. You can be sure it’s never crowded there. Relational integrity is the only real success you can acquire. Everything else can be stripped away in a moment… in the midst of strong winds & many waters. It’s not true success when it can be ripped from you. True success that most often the death bed reveals is only found in one place, relational integrity. No man lies there thinking about his house, cars, business , careers. Many only find the truth when it’s too late. Here’s what i’m grateful for. That those who didn’t, those that choose evil has an end.. the world won’t always suffer violence. What do you do in the meantime. While evil runs a muck violating everyone it comes into contact with. Pray. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. For yours is the Kingdom. The power & the glory. Be vigilant. Be not ignorant of satan’s devices. Pray without ceasing. All i have left to say Ty Gibson, is that i’m glad you didn’t suffer violence in vain. I love hearing the Spirit of God coming from you. It’s a reminder of what else there is in contrast to what we’ve been seeing, what we’ve endured. The enemy was unsuccessful in silencing you. I really believe that Sometimes after suffering violence there’s also a silence. More often than not. The enemy of our souls has an agenda & on that agenda is the silencing of voices. There’s another reason if you’re looking for the answer of why do we suffer violence. With silence, the Great commission can’t be carried out. The knowledge of Salvation will cease. It’s the final thing they did to our Savior, Jesus Christ. Crucified Him to silence that the Kingdom of God is here. Evil & wickedness will increase. It’s the enemy’s plan. With the suffering of violence against you, there’s a silencing too. Why is that. Why does it do that to the strongest of us even. It’s unnatural. It goes against how we were created to be, to live. By His Holy Spirit some have overcame & as a result we’re reminded, thru men & women like you, there’s a vast contrast to what we see, hear & endure. We can traverse & overcome by navigating with hope, by remembering the cost & thru the Holy Spirit within us. Sometimes, I forget the cost & at times i forget that all is not lost.
You probably won't read this but I want to thank you....as this has come at a pertinent time. The truth is you can't rush someones pain to get them to the other side...it will take as long as it needs to. Our heart hurts to see it but we have to through love allow it and with God's guidance offer support...in a form that the person can accept not our version and if we can't make room for the person with that approach to step in. As much as we want to be we may not always have what every single person needs...that's why we have a church body...sooo many people God can call on.
