I'm happy you guys worked things out. As an aside, I (also brown) got a tongue piercing when I was 19, my mom heard about it from my brother (was talking/vlogging for a snapchat and didn't think it was that noticeable) but I can't forget the conversation we had that night. Sobbing, ripping crying, from me- from my core, at my mom on the phone screaming, telling me how could I do this, crying, what does this mean for me, am I blowing people? Do I not want a job? With all that tuition and I do this? Just ripping into me as I say I'msorryI'msorryI'msorrypleasestopIgetitPleasestop. I don't wish that kind of pain on anyone. Now I know (in my own family) my love from them is very conditional. Dependent on what I do with my body and how that affects them and what they think (and what other people think). Now I'm 26 and can brush this off as her being crazy overreactive and dealing with her own issues at the time...but at 19? Goddamn. I didn't deserve that. I still don't. And I'm working through all the cultural and religious guilt/shame placed upon me even now. All this is to say: thank you for posting and reminding me that healthy communication and boundaries are key. I hope you're (and other brown girls like us) are free to do as we wish in our homes, and make our own choices with our bodies (with maturity and self-respect) without judgement, some day soon. Life is too short for your parents to worry over a piece of metal in your nose/ear/etc. sounds childish really. You do you!
Dude idk if I should say this or not but you literally look SO PRETTY WITH YOUR NOSE PIERCING (if that's you in your pfp) idk why your mom said that other than just for being toxic. I am sorry you had to go through that but seriously you look damn gorgeous girl
@@Angel_wife-f5b yes that’s me in my pfp, tysm! I really appreciate the kind words. And that’s just how asian parents be, it’s a lot of projecting. What’s funny is that she had a huge issue with my septum piercing yet when I got my tattoo on my collarbone she said I could “tell her these things” and wasn’t mad lol. Then I find out she always wanted a tattoo 🙄. She was mad at a $15 piercing that can close up if i allowed it to rather than a $800 tattoo thats permanent . The logic is hilarious!
They say having a piercing will make your life suck when shes the one taking you out of college LOL
i love body mods, and I think they’re soooo beautiful, but my dad calls them ugly. so excited for my dad to find me a horrifically ugly being lmao
You actually look GORGEOUS with those piercings
OMG THE "say you love me" 😂😂 and the "we actually had an argument" I RELATE
*THE FACT SHE LOOKS GORGEOUS WITH A SEPTUM PIERCING!*
“It’s the one in the middle of the nose if I remember correctly.”
"he ky ahe sara" 😭😭❤️ she's so fucking cute
You look really good in piercings!
"he Kay ahe Sara " idk why it feels good to hear little bit marathi scolding in middle 😂
I SWEAR SEPTUM PIERCINGS ARE SO CUTE LIKE WHAT HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE THAT
I love British Indians. Their sense of humour really matches British humour.
Much love 💕
Lmao you can tell mom is the kinda mom to ignore the I love yous and just cook for the people she loves lol
Can I just say I love how your accent changes when you talk to your mum 🤣🥹
