I used to be a blackjack dealer and casinos are evil. People that gamble destroy their lives. I have so many stories of people who lives have been destroyed by gambling.
@@bonusman Stock market suicides are much better documented than gambling suicides. Those people are more prominent and less likely to go unnoticed. In fact, at one point Nevadans would have $5 bills planted on a dead person to fool people into thinking they didn't kill themselves after going broke gambling.
The worst ones are the bosses who breathe down your neck when you are winning. They do not appreciate those who can win, even when they know the casino can afford your winnings. They are bloodthirsty for those throwing their money and lives away. The are like vampires, happy to suck the community dry.
lol i was at grand casino hinckley the other week and my buddy dosent know how to play at all so i was telling him the basic strategy moves we were up and the pit boss would be right over my shoulder the minute we were down he would bat a eye and walk away instantly lmaoo
I totally agree with all these points. I am 60 now. Back in my younger years, 21 to 33, I used to go to Vegas several times a year. I played mostly BJ (21) using the Martingale system, which has nothing to do with counting cards. I was told at the golden nugget down town LV that I could not play 21 there. A few others downtown followed suit. One on the Vegas Strip (El Rancho) removed my chips from the play spot and told me to leave, "take your action somewhere else!" Countless others would bring in several pit bosses and stare me down while I was playing. If you start winning, they do not want you there
@@hakimbouzina7722 Back then there was a much bigger gap between the Min bet and Max bet at most casinoes. Yes, I would reach the max bet on a lot of the tables. If I lost, I would bet 2 players spot if I could. If not, I would go to another table with a higher limit and continue on till I won or ran out of money. This type of gambling is not for a small bank roll. And yes, you can hit such a bad streak that you do lose.
I ruined many years of my life because of casino gambling. If... I had all the money I ever permanently lost at a casino my "wealth" would be unimaginable. You are absolutely right in your description of the losers casinos depend on and prey on in order to thrive. Thus, thriving on the destruction of someone else's well being is evil and that is what they are betting on. Today on June 15th, I'm trading in my fantasy of becoming a gambling winner and reclaiming my responsibility to make myself wealthy and happy. I will even make a youtube channel about becoming successful in life because of personal choices to let go of the lies evil wants you to adopt like gambling to fulfill your life. I hope everyone struggling gets the life they seek.
I’ve worked for Uber before and I picked up a client at a casino. He was looking like he’s life was over. I asked if he was ok he looked at me and said he lost 20k. In my head I was like yikes. At $400 lost I would have quit.
Actually card counting has helped casinos. It has taught the casinos that blackjack can be beaten and it has shown them how to make countermeasures against not only card counters but also against all blackjack players. Cards are changed at single deck tables frequently. The pit boss will come to a table and wait for a positive count and take that deck from the dealer. When they fill the rack with chips they do the same thing. This has the effect of playing blackjack with a short deck in the long run because all the negative counts get dealt and a percentage of all the positive counts get shuffled up. The casinos swindle the public by offering 6-5 blackjack games and other unfavorable rules that the public aren’t aware of.
You have the right idea. Card counting has helped casinos, but it’s not because it taught them the game is beatable, it’s because it taught thousands of gamblers the game is beatable and drummed up business from people who will never take the time to actually learn the game. Casinos learning counter measures is irrelevant since if there was no card counting, there’d be no need for counter measures.
I'm sure this is true. People dabble in Blackjack and think themselves experts when they're about as ignorant as the average player. They think they have it figured out; then they head to the casino to lose more money. That's why it's utterly crucial to master the game before playing with your bankroll.
Interesting side note, blackjack was actually +ev with basic strategy alone before Ed Thorp came out with Beat the Dealer in 1962. Baldwin, McDermott, Cantey and Maisel published “The Optimum Strategy in Blackjack in 1954 and I believe it was calculated to have like a -0.08% house edge. During this time, very few people knew about basic strategy and Beat the Dealer brought it to light. When the casinos read Beat the Dealer, Vegas changed the rules to make it unbeatable. Vegas lost so much business that they changed the rules to today’s standard house edge (0.1-0.5%) within a couple weeks
@@terrymorrill4311 Well, I wouldn’t say counter measures are irrelevant if pit bosses are watching the count themselves and are only dealing the deck until it becomes favorable to the player and then they shuffle. That means, in sum, That the player is always playing the worst part of the deck. Making the house’s advantage even larger
I used to live in a community where the local casino subsidized the meager public transportation, because they also got to run a bus dedicated to bringing seniors into the place. The whole industry is an insidious scam.
No truer words have ever been spoken, I’m in my late 50s, I have been going to casinos, local, Indian and Nevada for over 30 years, and I have seen these theories come to fruition, I have seen people asleep at slot machines with there hands on the play button, I for example the last time I went to Vegas, I won over one thousand dollars on a slot machine, went to the cashier, my ticket was almost 13 hundred dollars and they said they had to look at the video to see if this was a legitimate win, took them 10 minutes to pay me, but they did, makes me question the last thing was said in this video, when you think your better than them, they try to find a way not to pay it off
I worked at the local [tribal-owned] casino here (20 miles north of Portland, Ore.) for about 4 months...all I was doing was working for a contracted foodservice provider (in the employee dining facility), and it was the most stressful job I've ever had. With that being said...they have the best BJ table rules I've seen, including NV properties, and their gaming supervisors have even been known to openly talk to players about strategy and card counting. (they offer S17/DAS/surrender 6-deck shoe w/ cut of 0.75-1 deck; although $500 max bets due to state law)
Yes I agree that casinos are evil, I like what Colin is doing and I'm very interested in card counting and blackjack, but if you bring down the house you literally bring down your source of income, right?
Especially Caesars Entertainment! Those guys are the worst. You get busted at one of their casinos, and they flag you at all their casino cages, plus their software does a better job identifying APs compared to other casino companies. They also have a bad history of stealing money from APs, making bogus arrests for cheating/trespassing, and the few card counters who do fight back, some of them successfully win big money in lawsuits.
The way he talks about how casinos engineer the sights, sounds, and smells reminds me of what used to be my personal favorite form of entertainment: Blockbuster Video. They used to have the popcorn machine and snack bar right near the door, so the first thing you were hit with when you walked through the door was that delicious buttery sweet smell of freshly popped popcorn. Then there was the layout. The way Blockbuster had the shelving laid out was diagonally, which encouraged exploration, and made the place feel "open" instead of your rigid aisles in a grocery store. Furthermore, it wasn't uncommon to run into friends or family while browsing at Blockbuster. Not going to lie. I actually miss Blockbuster Video. It was a far more enjoyable experience that streaming.
I think that's just good hospitality. They made renting the movie into an experience, and it was less depressing than aimlessly lifelessly scanning through 100s of boring movies and shows on Netflix. Also, I never heard anyone who declared bankruptcy or killing themselves because of blockbuster.
I know Las Vegas gives free drinks but very few of the casinos in states like Iowa, New Mexico, etc. give free drinks. It's very depressing that so many seniors spend the holidays at casinos. So right about casinos sucking money out of the community. The casino in downtown Milwaukee has to be the most depressing place on the planet. It's about 2 miles from the biggest ghetto in the state and you can see people losing what little money they have.
been thinking about hitting the Potawami for a while. they're all pretty depressing, but the most clear low income crowd I've seen was Horseshoe Indiana. River's Des Plains seems to attract a crowd with more money, very generally speaking
Native Chicagoan here. This is why I dislike going to places like the Horseshoe in NW Indiana vs. a casino on the strip. Vegas has its problems, of course, but most of the people you see there are vacationers who will get on with their lives the next week. On the other hand, the Horseshoe was one of the most depressing places I've ever seen because you can tell a lot of the people there are regulars who go there whenever they get expendable income. The energy level is totally different and all around feels kind of miserable if you're not into gambling.
Ok I do agree with you about this. I live 200 yds from a very significant casino that has destroyed so many people who would never have had any serious involvement with gambling. And the entire area around them are just other scummy businesses trying to exploit their traffic. Low-life strip clubs and places for men to meet prostitutes, Asian "massage" (I tried to get a massage at the one down the road when I actually needed a massage and when I explained, the lady looked at me blankly, made a gesture with her hand up and down, and said, "We don't do massage, ok?". They provide extremely expensive food and rooms unless you are blowing serious amounts of money and as a result there are no decent restaurants nearby because the sick people are all at the casino. The entire world inside the casino is about sucking as much money as possible from people just discovering the excitement of it all before they can stop and think about what they're doing. And the ones who are stuck there get less and less back. I remember not that long ago they would be giving so much away all the time, there were lines snaking through there for all the booze and home appliances and gift cards, but when they rebuilt the place they got a new management company that has gutted those programs. I actually almost used to think I was breaking even with all that stuff. People would sell it on ebay. They used to give constant comps so we'd get excellent food and lots of rooms for very little. All that is over now. It's just full-out sucking money from the problem gamblers who can't seem to stop themselves. I've noticed that the people who go to casinos, overall, include SO many scummy, scammy people. You have to make sure not to talk to anyone or make friends with anyone there. So many of the people are just lowlifes, even the rich ones. Basically it's a cesspool. Prostitution is everywhere there and drunk and drugged people stagger around night and day.
Just working at a gas station that sold lottery tickets I could tell you that half of the sales were from people that would be in there multiple times a week, wasting their money, and no Matter how much I gently tried to push them away from buying them they just continued to have that problem
I am a counselor and have dealt with many people problems over 35 years. I have found that the best way to help people is for them to create personal responsibility leading to self control. To say that a casino, alcohol, food or any outside stimulate creates a problem in a person in not accurate and creates a victim mindset. The truth is, these desires are already in people and they have never developed a personal system of self control to deal with the temptation. There's even a scripture in the bible that says "we are tempted when we're carried away by our own desires". I do not like seeing people suffer from any addiction but to remove every choice actually cripples people. Physical movement and activity keeps our muscles healthy just like making self controlled choices builds a resistance to overindulging. That being said, I would love for people to use your systems and make bank in casinos. But even that winning will require that they are controlled because the brain chemicals that accompany winning will hook them.
It does create a problem....whose more likely to have a gambling problem? John doe who lives next to Caesars Palace? Or Jane doe who lives no where near a casino? Sure, self control is important, but casinos exist to legally siphon money from the middle class and poor people. If it was just "to game" the odds wouldn't be what they are.
I think you're missing the point. It doesn't make sense to compare a casino to alcohol or food. It makes more sense to compare a casino to a bar or restaurant. The huge difference is that food is entirely essential to survival and alcohol serves an actual purpose in society. Casinos are fun but arent anything but a drain on society. They cheat good people out of money. If there were even odds and some sort of cognitive check then I'd have zero problem with it, but then it wouldnt make any profit so it would need to be government run. The problem my friend is that capitalism brings out the worst qualities in people. Capitalism is pure evil.
I agree that removing choice is bad but for people who are already addicted which MEANS their self control is down the gutter, would you then put them in close proximity of the source of their addiction? It’s like when someone tries to stop smoking but then put a pack of their favourite cigarette on the dinner table each night. They’ll cave in eventually. Yes if everyone in this world is mentally healthy then casinos can work as an entertainment place but you cant deny that they do prey on the weak minded who are prone to addiction
Self control and personal responsibility are of course important, but come on, you know that people can be manipulated and deceived into taking actions they otherwise wouldn't have. Casinos try and stack every single possible factor to encourage and exacerbate gambling addictions. It's like someone getting a papercut and someone else packing sewage into it. Sure, the second guy didn't cause the injury, but he sure as hell made it worse, and if the injured person gets sick or dies from the resulting infection, he's not absolved of responsibility just because he didn't make the cut.
The 43 million woman was genuinely a mistake tho. Slots usually have a max win of like 10,000x bet, so if she bet 1 dollar a spin, $10,000 max. So there is no way the win got to that high.
I spent so much time in that casino. It was my favorite place to play until they closed down the poker room. I always wonder what percentage of the people in that building are up long term? It’s strange to see hundreds of people donating their money. Pretty sad.
@@mrburns805 During Covid all the area Indian Casinos let go especially Barona let go of there long term good employees. They were good people. These Indian casinos are replacing those employees with young people. They used Covid to clean house and hire cheaper wage employees. All while the tribal members receive thousands of dollars per month each. This is why I don’t put a penny in these places anymore. You can lose millions in those places and they won’t give a hoot it’s when you start winning then they have a problem with you and yes I do remember the Poker Room.
Thank you for your video....thats the reasons why I self-excluded myself from all the casinos around my county...ITS A REALLY DISCUSSING AND DIRTY BUSINESS FULL OF HYPOCRISY....THEY TREAT YOU AS ONE OF THEIR BEST FRIEND AND WHEN YOU LOSE YOUR LOST DOLLAR THEY JUST CALL A SECURITY GUARD AND THROW YOU OUT....STAY AWAY!!...THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE MONEY IS THROUGH HONEST WORK AND GOOD INVESTMENTS.
I’ve learned soo much from your teachings Collin! I love watching all the new content you share with the world and it’s definitely made me a more responsible player and in turn, I share that knowledge with all my people because casinos are truly evil. Keep up the great work and wishing you and your family a very Happy and Healthy 2021!
I have been noticing small credit card swiping machines at the tables at casinos here in Las Vegas so you don't even have to walk to the casino's ATM machines to get money and leave the table.
I live in Southern Utah and often drive south to Mesquite and Las Vegas. It can be fun to go down for a weekend or to see a show, but I am always quite happy to come back home to my casino-free community.
This video is SOOO TRUE! Every word said is logically correct and i wish this video reaches people during their vulnerable times. What you do at casinos is so much different than problem gambling. Appreciate all that you do
5:30 Can confirm that most people who win on my tables keep pushing it and end up losing it all. Whenever someone wins a lot of money and colors up some of it I tell them I don't want to see those chips again. Most people laugh it off then 30 minutes later they usually are giving me back the chips. If you gamble casually set limits and only bring what you're willing to lose. When I gamble I budget it as a loss and plan accordingly.
I had a friend that was the luckiest gambler ever. I mean I never saw a person consistently hit 15 and get a six or put $10 on the number eight in roulette and hit it. But it would always in the same. No matter how much he won, he was always going to give all of it back he just could never walk away. It was almost like he wanted to lose it all quickly so we could all get back to drinking it was almost like the winning got in the way of the losing as crazy as that sounds. So being his friend what I would do is I would go around with him at the beginning of his gambling and I would ask him to loan me chips pretending like I was gonna go play and I would just try to stash as much money away as I could for him. One night he started out with $200 and he was up to about $1800. Of course he lost it all but I had stashed away $300. I didn’t give it back to him until we were on our way home and he laughed and said thank you because if I had given it to him at the casino he would’ve gone right down and gambled it. Gambling is right up there with the worst of addictions. I mean some people can be drug addicts and alcoholics and still function but a addict gambler not only ruined his life but he ruins his family‘s life because his family doesn’t have rent money or food money and he’s stealing their money etc. it’s a horrible disease and just awful. I will say this for anybody who is having trouble gambling. I once wondered how I could go for a whole day without drinking a beer. It’s now been about eight years since I’ve had a drink and you can quit you just have to ask for help you have to go to the meetings and ask for help and they will help you. You have got to start for yourself and your family it’s so much better

Hey Colin! Been watching your videos and practicing card counting for a while. Took my first trip to a real casino for the first time tonight. Super small bankroll of $200 - was honestly just planning to practice basic strategy and take it all in a real environment - but by wonging into a ~True count 4 table I more than doubled my money in only 20min! Dealers swapped out after that so I walked after that but it was awesome! Obviously I was also experiencing some good variance, but knowing that counting can and does work was awesome to see for myself. Thanks for the content!
To the drunk thing, in my earlier 20s, I was politely kicked out of a casino for being too drunk (we got drunk at the bar then went to a blackjack table). The pit boss was very nice about it. She said we were cutoff at the bar, and that means we are cut off from gambling for the night. She said that because we were too drunk the casino could be liable and that we just need to "go back to your rooms, go get some sleep, and come back in the morning".
Around here they dont wait to siphon your money, they blink it out of the slot machine and when you win, it almost never adds the right total on. It seems like youre winning a lot, but the machine is actually deducting. Sometimes for hours, no machine makes a single noise because no one is winning. Then all of a sudden someone sits down and hits the jackpot. Everyone should know that who wins and how much are controlled by employees at the main server(computer) The ones over friendly with the big smiles and good lucks are not your friend. Malfunctions here are an all day occurance. You can say casinos are evil, but know who works there and then you can see the truth. All the machines here are class 2, no class 3 random number generators. Sometimes the manfacturer controlls the machine too. I didnt know that for years. That came as quite a surprise. The point is, we're at the mercy of those with no character.
Funny..and great comment. I'm at the point I believe any jackpot won is a casino shill or high level employee management or relative..the ppl u speak of can u elaborate on it?
@@jaynise842003 I'd surely like to but I really don't want them to sue me for pointing out specific ones. I don't think any of them can be honest because they rely on the honor of people. I have spoken to the inspector general about it though.
@@sheliashuck1633 Trust me I know what you mean. For sure it's an inner circle. These are the ones that are actually making a profit from gambling while others pay into it. Colin you are a class act. Your delivery in the videos comes across professional but also down to earth. Keep them coming, and down with the casinos 💪🏼💵
I just purchased "The Law For Gamblers" by Robert Nersesian. It has shows a lot of cases in which advantages players won hundreds of thousands of dollars...
The $43 million “win” was not a win. The machine did not offer a jackpot of that amount, or anything close to it. She didn’t “hit” anything…that number just popped up on the screen. Just like sometimes a person gets a $43 million electricity bill for one month. It’s a computer glitch and it doesn’t mean they owe that money to the electric company just like the casino didn’t owe that money to the woman with her fake win.
She paid for a spin, the machine said she won that. Its an implied contract. The casino is responsible to have the machines working fine. Imqine if you wont 50k on the roulette betting on the 0 and then the casino said 'oopsie, the wheel was unbalanced so it doesnt count!' If the machine is not working properly is their problem not yours. You paid and you won.
Sometimes glitches do happen. I was playing roulette on a machine once and no matter what, the machine would give me money. If I bet red and it hit black, it would still pay me! I knew that had to be a glitch.
Great points. Although causation doesn't lead to correlation. I think it's more likely that people who are more likely to commit suicide are more likely to become problem gamblers. A lot of ppl who don't love their lives want to get rich quick in the hopes it will make their lives better
I don’t get why dealers aren’t paid better. Seems like paying their dealers real shitty and forcing em to live off tips encourages dealer player collusion
The martingale or any other betting system will not even dent a house advantage. Nor will they increase their advantage either. Increasing a bet with the count in blackjack is different because now the increased bets are being made at a time when the player has a mathematical advantage over the house
Vick Vickerson hole carding and shuffle tracking/sequencing for blackjack, then there are slots ap, dice control for craps if you want to waste your time
Strange Th the reason I say it might be a waste of time practice wise is that it’s not simulating actual player perspective. And with the rules saying you can’t play where you work, you burn the opportunity for practicing actual play at this casino, which i assume is closest to you. In any case, get the 5$ blackjack Apprenticeship app and get practicing, it’ll get you halfway there and if you find it addicting, even more so. Edit: if you find it to be awful, just stick to the day job until you see the light
It seems that way but he is assuming everyone has $100,000 bank roll no job so they can play blackjack seven days a week and losses don’t matter and plenty of time to travel a day a way to the next casino after you get backed off from an entire state. In many ways this channel is just as scamming as the casinos themselves sorry I like the content too but it’s the truth. An easier messages avoid casinos completely 100% altogether use your creativity and smarts for other businesses or industry you can be the greatest card counter in the world but who cares if no one will let you play
My childhood was scared by an out of control compulsive gambler. They would drive hours away, to give away their hard earned ,and too often, borrowed money. All the while, unable cover the basic life needs. The places hold no glamour in my eyes, I’ve seen too much.
Thank you! Just shared with my Nassau County legislator asking that she please say “no” to Sands Corp. who seek to foist a casino on us on Long Island.
Additionally, casinos display their evilness when you work for them. I have worked for three different companies over the last 25 years, and still do, as I have no other marketable skills. (Started at age 25). I have remained a dealer despite numerous opportunities to "move up" because I know the BS involved at that non-union level. Too long to even try to fully explain here, but suffice it to say that all of these operators regularly treat their staff like poo in so many ways.
The sad part is how much the house syphons from the majority of its patrons. There’s a reason the poker rooms are last priority in the house because it’s a capped income
The thing that makes this even worse is all these online gambling businesses like Draft Kings. Don’t even have to get out of bed to become addicted and in the case of DK, I have the view that the games are fixed. Almost impossible to beat the house.
The best thing happened to me when I was 21. I worked at a place and all the employees rented a bus and on Friday we went up to Vegas about 30 of us. Of course we had just cashed our checks and at that time I think my check was about a whopping $150… For you kids out there minimum wage not too long ago used to be $3.35. Anyway I got there after a seven hour bus ride and we were loaded already and they continue through the night to the point the casino PERSONNEL was telling my friends the money was falling out of my pockets and I was just begging to be robbed. My friend kept taking my money and put it in his pocket and at the time I thought he was stealing from me but the next morning when I had lost everything he pulled out 40 bucks that he had stashed for me. The thing is I had worked all week for that money 40 hours of time and then one night and with one bad hangover almost all of it was gone. And that is when I decided that I was no longer going to gamble with money I could not easily afford to lose. It’s been about 40 years now and once in a while I May do a group pool for the Super Bowl or something, but I’ve never just blown money like that again because it’s obscene. One time I went there with $500 and this time I was sober and I had practice counting. I wasn’t that good at it but my goal was to double my money and then stop. And so, as luck would have it, I hit the fastest lucky streak ever I mean I was doubling down and splitting hitting blackjack and within about 20 or 25 hands I had double my money. The question was what am I gonna do for the next two days. And so I spent about $60 of my winning on nickel slots which at the time I just wanted to play as the dollar slots you still get to pull the arm or at least you used to I can’t believe there’s no more arms it’s just a stupid button
Let this be a reminder that Gambling shall be illegal forever everywhere. Let the people, united, use their might and protest against Vegas. They have dammed the Colorado River badly. As a result, Yuma, Arizona gets very little water now. Las Vegas has sewn the seeds of its own burning, for it has used Greed as a weapon against Humanity.
No point in banning gambling... there will still be the same issued that e ist because of casinos, only this time around the mafia own the casinos, and said casinos won't have any regulations
I've won a few times on black jack,a couple times I've won a thousand and couldn't get any higher before the cards turned bad. But I've lost at least 15 x ,usually by going back after I won thinking I could do it again easily, because you are competitive and think you are good. Each time I've lost I've thought the casino was evil. Bad depression and guilt hits you while you are walking out the door knowing you just got your ass kicked. When the cards were bad, they were just bad every single hand the dealer would get 20 or 21 ,I thought to myself this gots to be rigged, yet I'd play again at some point thinking I will win again and it wont be that bad. I've seen more then a few times where the cards are ok or good and they bring out all new decks of cards, take a intermission break and then when it starts back up the cards are just terrible. Dealer hits 20 or 21 every single time. That's why I think they rig it some times. This was in beltera casino in Indiana. Also hollywood, and the Cincinnati casino they have I've never seen anyone win there.
My first experience with casinos was when I was 16, stopping by for a smoke before going to school bc a friend worked there And this old man came in every single morning at 7:30, in an old suit, play the slots. There were a few other regulars, but this one stuck with me
This was a very insightful video, yet I have to add that gambling is meant soley as a form of entertainment, not a get-rich-quick scheme. Sadly, there are those who see it as the latter, pissing away their rent money and life savings on the slots. If you can barely afford your basic living expenses, you can't afford to gamble. Simple as that.
Thanks for the video. I was playing 🐃 GOLD max bet. $4 won a bonus 36 free games x4. People ran over to my slot. After spin number 2 I was up to $450 than the slot turn off. Rebooted not one more win after that.. All 32. Last bonus spins hit nothing. So I quit gambling. Oh they told me I cant video record any of my slot play.
I'm literally at the Ceasars rn in Louisiana and it's so disgusting tried it and lost 5 bucks im literally never gambling again this shit sucks. This place is such a brain rot over stimulation experience that I feel physically sick seeing people literally tweeking while losing thousands at a digital slot machine
Yeah casinos care about one thing and that is profit. Here in England it is the same. My brother was a croupier for about 15 years and he has told me plenty of stories. One time there was a guy in there who was really really drunk and he had won about 30k and the pit boss and others where doing everything they could to keep him there, they gave him free drinks and even increased the limit allowed for a roullette red/black bet. they let him put 7k (I think it was 7k) on red or black and guess what? He actually won. Not sure how much he left with. That was just a story my brother told me because he was the one dealing the roullette when he won that bet. Another time my brother was in the casino playing himself and had won around 8k, he knew everyone who worked there as he had worked with them before and at one point when a new croupier took over where he was playing, the croupier literally told him "Adam you know they sent me here to try and take this money off you?" my brother lost it all before end of the night. But he always had a gambling issue. I do know though that most croupiers (my brother included) want the punters to win.
Hey, I've just started learning blackjack basic strategy but I'm a little confused with the chart. If I have a hard 16 against a 9 should I hit or surrender?
The charted basic strategies depend on the rules of a particular game. So therefore there are a few minor alterations or different options. The hand you describe you will indeed surrender if surrender is allowed. You'll hit if not allowed
@@alexyoung5426 I'm not familiar with B.A's charts, but I pulled some up on Google images. Yes his general basic strategy chart would be based on multiple deck games, which really are about the only game with any decent rules anyway. Single deck(with beatable rules) has mostly gone by the wayside anymore. Most charts out there will state the rules associated with them. And Colin likely has more along with reference tools. The rule differences make a few minimal minor changes to the charts. So pay attention to whether the chart is based on whether the dealer hits or stands on soft 17(H17 or S17) or allowed Doubling is allowed after splitting(DAS) and whether surrender is allowed. I saw a video of a guy getting backed off. They didn't kick him out, but they told him he can't play blackjack or spanish 21. Is there a way to beat the spanish 21 game? Apparently, the casino seems to think so.
I've had a question is like answered with an good believable one . Card counting in Atlantic city is legal and my understanding is that casinos can't even back one off for counting...so why don't card counters just play there?
while I am a basic card counter ,i also play video poker and fequent my local casino 3 times a week... I do not play any game that is more than a 1% house advantage.. the reason that casinos offer 6-5 BJ is because people play it. be a gaming player ,and not a gambler...take advantage of sports books/advantage games..
I go to casinos for entertainment. I never spend more than like $20 gambling during a visit cause I know the house has an edge. If I end up on top that’s a plus and if I lose, at least I got a small thrill. But yea casinos could definitely use some moral regulation
It is so weird that the stigma of casinos are "evil". No joke went to a casino for the first time and I felt uneasy and it felt like a portal to instant lies, problems and doom. It felt like a trap. I felt like a mouse going for the cheese.. I kept lookin around it felt like I was being watched or someone was about to shoot it up, just a very uneasy feeling of danger I can not explain once you pass security.. You know when you notice something wrong but other people don't seem to notice or pay attention? That feeling. I never wanted my back exposed while I am drunk. I didn't feel right. The people look desperate for fame and fortune. Many look unhealthy and sickly either mentally or physically. The animations were sexualized, bright and stimulating. Hilariously, all seated in those types of games were mid 40-50-year old men. Like if they win big Cleopatra is going to come through the screen and motorboat the winner with her massively animated melons and forget all about their failed marriages and broken hearts.. Are people too stupid to see this is a tryhard scam? Never will I return. Got my girl and got the hell out. I will take my chances on investing in stocks, ETF's, Index Funds Real Estate etc.
Can you make a video about double down? I find myself wanting to avoid it due to preventing me from hitting again if the hand is below 17. I tell myself I'd rather have more opportunities to win than risk lose chasing doubles. Can you provide any odds comparing a player who doesn't double vs one that does?
He has a spreadsheet called basic strategy, essentially for whatever card combination there is one action you need to do shown on the table. Simply memorise it and as he says under betting seems safe now but you’re playing for the long run
Jeez the senior citizens point got me that’s so messed up. Not even a 2nd free ride to the casino for those who are smart and paid all their dues before hand and simply want to enjoy guilt free change at the end of the month.
Hey Colin, I would just like to hop up on my soapbox for a minute and counter a few of your arguments. Our views are certainly biased on the topics of casinos (I’m a gaming management student at UNLV, and you’re the guy, well, trying to rip us off). Anyway, 1) First, the lens that you are looking through to view casinos is a rather cynical one. Las Vegas, the most visited city on the planet, would not exist without gaming. The resorts here offer experiences to guests that can be found nowhere else. Casinos are in the entertainment industry, just like professional sports, television and movies, or book publishers for that matter. And, of course, there is a sinister side to all of these, if you choose to think that way, and they are all identical: they want your money. What does each business in these categories offer to their customers? Entertainment. In a casino-resort, a guest is saying that the experience that will be received is more valuable than the money that he or she is spending, or that it is worth the risk to gamble some of their money. 2) It may very well be true that 40%, 60%, or more of the bottom line comes from problem gamblers - BUT - this isn’t coming from the low-income folks that you are insinuating. You’re an intelligent guy and you’ve no doubt heard of Pareto’s Law, aka the 80-20 rule. Briefly, anywhere from 80-90% of a casinos revenue comes from its top 10-20%, or their premium players (yes, it’s that high, and it’s consistent across the board, even at Jerry's Nugget). Surely some, maybe even all of these players are “problem gamblers,” but they can afford to pay for the experience of staying at these resorts. Further, NGC Regulation 5.170 requires all casinos to implement a problem gambling program for its employees to detect such players. 3) Nowadays, casinos in Nevada are making only about 40% of their total revenue from their gaming departments. Again, these properties are in the entertainment business. They offer just about every amenity imaginable to provide guests with a quality visit. The objective of the casinos on The Strip is to provide an escape and make each guest feel like the most important person in the world while they are in town. Will this cost money? Like everything else in life, absolutely.
I used to be a blackjack dealer and casinos are evil. People that gamble destroy their lives. I have so many stories of people who lives have been destroyed by gambling.

Those people are more prominent and less likely to go unnoticed.
In fact, at one point Nevadans would have $5 bills planted on a dead person to fool people into thinking they didn't kill themselves after going broke gambling.
How was it like to have a card counter at your table, instead of someone who's destroying their finances?
The worst ones are the bosses who breathe down your neck when you are winning. They do not appreciate those who can win, even when they know the casino can afford your winnings. They are bloodthirsty for those throwing their money and lives away. The are like vampires, happy to suck the community dry.
The only reason they can afford one person winning is because they booted the past 20.

My dad used to part owner of a small casino. He would never gamble for anything .
If you start winning, they do not want you there
And you didn’t end up reaching the table maximums?
@@hakimbouzina7722 Back then there was a much bigger gap between the Min bet and Max bet at most casinoes. Yes, I would reach the max bet on a lot of the tables. If I lost, I would bet 2 players spot if I could. If not, I would go to another table with a higher limit and continue on till I won or ran out of money. This type of gambling is not for a small bank roll. And yes, you can hit such a bad streak that you do lose.
This is why i don’t feel bad when casinos in Vegas get robbed.
I robbed the diamond casino too many times
I ruined many years of my life because of casino gambling. If... I had all the money I ever permanently lost at a casino my "wealth" would be unimaginable.
You are absolutely right in your description of the losers casinos depend on and prey on in order to thrive. Thus, thriving on the destruction of someone else's well being is evil and that is what they are betting on.

My dad kept telling me blackjack is a house game but I have always come out winning, they're the only tables I visit. Turned 30 into 300 on Xmas eve.

5:56 100% True. I go to San Manuel casino once a week, all the staff tell you good luck. And when you're losing, it's "let's get that money back!".
I worked in a casino and there is a very seedy underbelly in casinos...additionally, when you're broke and drunk they want you out!!!
Any decent councilor has to know that environment matters. Would you recommend a client with a gambling problem move next to a Casino?
Barona Casino loves you when your losing. When you run out of money you become a stranger to them and they give you the boot.

The martingale or any other betting system will not even dent a house advantage. Nor will they increase their advantage either. Increasing a bet with the count in blackjack is different because now the increased bets are being made at a time when the player has a mathematical advantage over the house
I’m a dealer trying to learn to count cards on the side so I’m getting good practice in a actual casino, or does it matter. Any tips ?
You might be wasting your time in most cases but if your learning more about other ap plays it’s def a plus.
@@Analstrosen what are other AP plays?
Just keep the running count of every shoe if you want practice. Also, offer more by the book advice if your not 100% on basic strat yet.
Colin is the real deal. This guy was born for this.
Good content, i learned a lot, THANKS!
So sad that people get rejected by casinos that are syphoning money and we cant stay because well take 1k in a session on avg
The sad part is how much the house syphons from the majority of its patrons. There’s a reason the poker rooms are last priority in the house because it’s a capped income
Why does it fells like they scam you when you play online or i mean they do
Love the videos, thank you for posting❤❤
the steak diner on 43 mil jackpot, that machine had max jackpot pay out of 12,000 , it was legit malfunction .
Thanks for pointing that out. Probably a poor example, but there are plenty of better examples of casinos refusing to pay winners.
The thing that makes this even worse is all these online gambling businesses like Draft Kings. Don’t even have to get out of bed to become addicted and in the case of DK, I have the view that the games are fixed. Almost impossible to beat the house.
since when is this not common knowledge? My mom told me about this when I was like 16
The best thing happened to me when I was 21.
19 dislikes are from casinos.
My first experience with casinos was when I was 16, stopping by for a smoke before going to school bc a friend worked there
And this old man came in every single morning at 7:30, in an old suit, play the slots.
There were a few other regulars, but this one stuck with me
Thanks for the video, I’ve learned so much from your channel 🌴
Is any of this really news to the average person? Feel free to comment if this was truly enlightening.
The point is he provided specific examples and did research.
i’m 19, i had some idea Casinos are grimy, but not to the extent of damaging communities etc.. pretty crazy shit
“Casinos drive seniors on the third of the month right after getting their social security benefits”
That’s fucking insidious.
That one dislike must be a casino owner 😂
There is 5 now 12 hours after you made your comment. Do you mean all those are casino owners?
@@UnknownUser12316 Must be 😂
@@mrvaultguy1118 they probably can also be casino dealers or people working for them
I've never felt the appeal of gambling. It's practically a tax on the vulnerable. Casinos are monstrous institutions.
well said Colin. Love the quote from Josh Axelrad
Atlantic City is the best example of this.
Soaring eagle in Michigan has a mighty fine we’ll off area around it. Fire keepers too but not as much as soaring eagle
Hey, to be fair.
That lady who hit the jackpot did so on a machine that never claimed a jackpot like that was even possible, so it was 100% a glitch.
Great video bro
There is one person who i watch on RUclips who said in one of their videos that casinos are criminal run (I can’t remember exactly how they worded it)
Yes that’s right. Well the public was much smarter then than they are now.
@@stevenhelgason8190 ok thanks, so does black apprentices basic strategy chart only work on games that use multiple decks?
DAS alters splitting strategies. S17 will tighten the probablilites on plays such as A8 vs. 6, A7 vs 2 or 11 vs. A. Surrender strategy changes slightly too based on this.
If you think this is complicated, just wait till you learn about the index play alterations on certain plays based on the counts....that is if you want to take this any farther...
@@stevenhelgason8190 ok thanks you really helped me out
Well? What happened? Did she take a picture of the screen? Did she take them to court??
I saw a video of a guy getting backed off. They didn't kick him out, but they told him he can't play blackjack or spanish 21. Is there a way to beat the spanish 21 game? Apparently, the casino seems to think so.
Win at Costa Rica 47!
I have seen people getting backed off and even banned for "winning too much" on slot machines.
I've had a question is like answered with an good believable one
. Card counting in Atlantic city is legal and my understanding is that casinos can't even back one off for counting...so why don't card counters just play there?
There is probably very few casinos, or they are digging this law deep into the ground
Right after watching this an ad comes on and says, get a free cruise with your casino card... Lmfao
I don't care about problem gamblers getting screwed. They literally choose to throw away money they can't afford to lose
Sir please tell me how to play andar bahar in online strategy 🙏🙏
while I am a basic card counter ,i also play video poker and fequent my local casino 3 times a week... I do not play any game that is more than a 1% house advantage.. the reason that casinos offer 6-5 BJ is because people play it. be a gaming player ,and not a gambler...take advantage of sports books/advantage games..
my town remodeled the casino like 5 or 6years ago. i have yet to step foot in it. lol i think i went into the old one like three times maybe.
Dude you cracked me up with comment 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hey Colin,
I would just like to hop up on my soapbox for a minute and counter a few of your arguments. Our views are certainly biased on the topics of casinos (I’m a gaming management student at UNLV, and you’re the guy, well, trying to rip us off). Anyway,
1) First, the lens that you are looking through to view casinos is a rather cynical one.
So someone using nothing more than their mind is ripping you off huh? You're a prick you'll fit right in.
Many valid points. However there are many who would prefer to spend their last living breath gambling in a casino
