Hi guys, just finished watching all your vlogs on the boat build, and me and my good lady wife have enjoyed every single minute and are looking forward to the next one, the boat is looking great and congrats on a great channel 👏😊👍
Hi both loved the video last night. It is lovely watching you both put so much effort into making it your home. Can’t wait for next episode. Have great week.
You certainly are doing a lot of work. Love the TV surround, and the oiled tongue and groove. So fortunate to have the skills and the vision of what you want your home to be. The color palette sounds fantastic. Window frames are really nice and compliment the wood. Thanks for sharing so much of what you two are doing. It is fascinating.
Thank you for another wonderful comment, we are doing our best, thats all that we can do. It's really coming together now, still a long journey ahead though. So glad you are enjoying the series.
For a few minutes there we thought you were going to saw the fibreglass without a mask! It is all coming together very nicely and your colour scheme sounds very nice. You’re doing a great job 👍
Hi Helen, fiberglass is awful, no way I'd cut that without. One thousand jobs to do, but you have to keep cracking on. Ordering two or more weeks away so parts keep landing. Thanks so much for comment.
I like the window surrounds finishes it off even though they are expensive it looks right little tip use masking tape around the windows around so when you put the silicon round you can leave it a little while then peel a basket tape off it will leave you a crisp edge that’s our window fitters do it I am a retired carpenter by trade
Thanks Michael, yes, I often use masking tape, but I have tried to do it as the pro's do, with a little success. I find the more I mess with silicon the worse it gets, so trying to seal in one hit. Not my favourite job by any means.
Hi Mart, Great idea with the fiberglass window surrounds, like you say wood and water don’t mix, shame you didn’t have a table saw with a laminate blade, would have made easy work of the trimming. TV looks good, all those little things make it look like home ! Keep up the good work, glad your work picking up, it all helps pay for the good stuff in life. Cheers, Nigel
Thanks Nigel, no doubt a table saw would have been a good investment. Space for it would have been a pain though. What we really need a full woodworking shop! Now that would be nice.
@Narrowboat Moonshine They do set the interior off good a bit of trimming here and there i work at wesley and the amount of people wanting them is amazing ive got a couple of them in the windows in my bar project and painted them too in ronseal mahogany varnish they look the business great job with your boat mate
Hi Peter, yes most likely, and it did come with some. Just wanted something a bit more secure. Especially as the wood is oiled. Sat watching the rugby now!
We love watching your vlogs especially as we're working on our sailaway lined boat and we've been learning lots and getting great tips from you both. Can you let me know where you got your window linings from and do you submit your own measurements? Thanks
Hi Dave. That’s great, nice to hear from you. We went for a 240v LED screens are super efficient and we get smart as well. 12v seem so limiting. With the amount of batteries we have we can accommodate that quite easily.
Hi Marty and the tv area came up well. The window frames look good and are you going to paint the frames? Looking forward to seeing more work on the boat. We love the look this far.
Hi Keith, The frames are a light oak, side walls a hessian colour, light and dark contrasts are what we are trying to achieve. Lots more to do. We will keep pushing, its amazing how much work there actually is.
Hi Andy, We have used clear CT1 which is structural adhesive for bonding frames to panels, then coloured CT1 to seal to window frames. I bond solar panels down with that stuff so should so the job.
Hi, I really enjoy your videos, could you let me know where you sourced your window frame liners please, as I am just about to replace my windows and these would finish them off nicely
Hi having stood watching the lads make them window surrounds for your boat the amount of time they take the price you mentioned sounds a lot less then I would of charged for that amount of work glad I have seen them fitted so I can say I have seen the job from beginning to end was thinking the 25mm you cut off could you use them strips to cover the joins above and below the windows as that would be the perfect match
Hi Big. I never complained about the price, good costs. I’m ok with That. I’m getting light oak ripped down for all joints and trim above gunwales. They are quality, love the liners, great choice.
Hi Tony. It’s an, at least a years project. Especially raising funds and balancing work. If there is a plan? It’s making if it good for winter. But hopefully we will be in Spain for a chunk of that in the van. Hopefully we can get out a bit during summer.
Yeah at end February. And we had three weeks off in December. I know boats, but even I am shocked at the amount of work to do. But it is slowly becoming our home.
Couple three things How do you tighten the fittings into the radiator/ towel rack without marring the finish? I love the window surrounds, so much cleaner and professional than trying to use wood, plus no rot. Not sure if I commented before but the overhead looks great, especially against the lighter sides Last comment: watching Paramore and Thirty Seconds to Mars on the Telly? What are you guys, Teenagers? Lol, wait, how do I know who those bands are anyway... Just kidding, music rocks!
Hi Bryan, we draw the line at Baby Metal!!?? The rad fittings need a tool (big Allen key) that fits inside to tighten the fittings. That was a stool day for me too. The window surrounds (liners) but well happy with them despite their large price tag. They are hand made though. Thanks for the positive comments again, we always look forward to them. Keep on rocking dude!

Hi Karen. They are from Wesley Marine Windows. www.wesleywindows.co.uk/
They have set sizes available.
Thanks for your lovely comment.
@@narrowboatmoonshine thanks 😀
Really enjoying watching the progress you've made, and the detail of the build. One point of interest, the tv you have installed is it 12 volt?.

Great video, we have the same window liners, how did you glue them in? the front edge is hollow so we used expanding foam.......was a nightmare!!!

Hi Mart, just starting watching your videos. Lovely work you’re doing. Where did you purchase your window liners please?
Thanks Kerry.
