I am also trying to replace the refrigerant liquid, whether the small reservoir has been filled to the max level (the liquid as it warms up, the level rises).
I hope you have find your answer since almost two months pass through from your interest. I really Don t know why are you have such an issue. I want to believe that there is some air through the cooling system and not an engine problem.
I have a smaller problem i replaced the coolant via your tutorial, and all its fine, about coolant, but my problem its when i ride i get 3 or 4 levels of temp gauge, but if i get out the key from contact, and put the key back the lvl of heat its at max, how its that possible with the engine stop to be more hot, if last check was 3 or 4 bars heat, possible temp senzor not working well or its normal if i stop the engine when i put the key back on the temp to be more than 3 bars!
Do you find what is going on? It can be your thermostat or instrument panel or electronic harness. Do you realize any higher fuel consumption? Do you feel your engine run too hot or cold? Always try to find from cheaper and easiest possible issues what it could be wrong. I wish you the best for you and your bike
Maybe it’s because when you turn your engine off, the water pump doesn’t work, so coolant doesn’t pass through the radiator, even if the fan is running
On my bike, if I stop let say at 90 deg C, during 2 or 3 minutes coolant temperature rises to let say 98 100 degrees, then go down
It’s because if you ride let’s say a good 40 minutes in the summer, then you stop without letting your engine to idle, and shut the engine. After 2-3 minutes, motorcycle engine will still be hot because your cooling system does not work without running engine.
That’s why it is good but not always necessary to let the engine idle after riding. (Unless if you like to ride it properly, give it some throttle)
