If you are experiencing the white rings for engines here's some info
The white rings are caused by not having Shader Settings set to Max. Usually the case when people play on laptops which automatically play the game from the wrong GPU and this disables graphics settings. Engines under normal view are a wavy gradient emitted from the engines.
To fix:
Check the ingame video settings so see what GPU is listed there. If it's the proper GPU then just go to advanced settings and turn up the Shader Settings slider.
If it shows the wrong GPU you need to look up how to force your laptop to use the dedicated GPU and follow whatever guide you find.

Empire at War was a game of my childhood and i'm so thankful that people remembers this masterpiece to this day and still plays it or even making mods. Can't wait for 5.0, it's the best remake of any old game i've ever played. You guys did a great job.

A cheap 12100 will run this game nice, this game only uses one core only. Any current mid range GPU will run this game fine at 1080p such as a amd RX6600 or RTX 3060, no need to sell your house 😁
I'm running remake on a uni budget laptop rn, it's less the specs required on your end and hopefully the mod getting a bit more stable
EAW:RE is literally my most favourite EAW mod
I love how it is still being updated regularly, how it balances everything (pirates may need balancing.. they literally steamroll everything if not contained in the very early game) regarding how you build your fleets, where you do it
EaW with the remake mod is in my too ten favorite games.

Same! I know this kind of thing exists in TR, but I think space battles not only look better in Remake but are more fun. Remake has been needing this for a long time.
@@archer2905 Agreed, space battles in Remake feels like I'm fighting actual ships unlike Thrawns revenge where capital ships feel like they're giant water balloons that get taken out within well being poked.
Remake ships feel weighty and what not, like actual warships.
@@bluenightfury4365 Exactly, combat is TR all to often comes down to who can field more ISD’s. Ships don’t last long enough in combat to warrant the effort of careful fleet composition and formation.

Also maybe it’s worth pointing out to the graphics team I noticed the trail on the CR90 in your video was never trailing correctly when turning. Stood out like a sore thumb. Honestly everything seems great though, can’t wait..
P.S. can we get that new arc-170 style bomber for neutral on galactic conquest like the normal arc-170 unit? That thing is so cool looking..
I hate to compare mods bc each creator has their own vision but I hope that 5.0 will include detailed unit info for all ships. Specifically like fighters currently list all their weapons, I hope this will also be the case with larger craft in this next update

I just hope we get more land battle locations, I always stumble across the same pool of maps on the ground. it gets tedious to rerun the same maps over and over. Looks exciting though from a space point of view, just taking planets is meh.

I honestly feel they should stop with every "major" update being a whole 1.0 upgrade versus the previous one, it looks goofy LOL
Not really. Most of the major updates last a year or two and they’re always looking to improve or find a system that’s considered more enjoyable.
Plus most major releases address one specific area of the game. Previous added ground and new gc elements with minor changes to space. This one changes space combat and so on
Hence why it’s called a major update not a minor lol

How did you get that experimental fleet builder? I never knew the remake mod had that
I used to love this mod. Now, they aren't a remake of the base game anymore, but rather a remake of the AotR mod for three reasons: required maintenance costs, losing income for losing fighters, and limiting defenses to specific planets. This severely punishes any defensive action or botched assault because it used to be "I can at least do some damage to that fleet/army to slow them down while I build up for a counterattack" and "System X, Y, and Z are great chokepoint because the defenses allowed makes it difficult for the enemy to push through if they attack." Now it's "I can't bother to put up a defense because if I do, whether I win or lose, I have to stall in building my forces or defenses. Auto-Resolve." or "Planets X, Y, and Z do make for good chokepoints, but the game won't allow me to build a sturdy set of defensive structures on planets X and Z to allow me to use them as such. If the enemy attacks planet X, they can push 12 systems in before they even reach any planet that I could even attempt to turn into a stronghold, and when they do there's like 5 other planets nearby that the enemy can just go around to isolate that stronghold planet. I can't put my forces at system X because if I do and they attack, I'll start losing them before I am ready to launch an assault, and I'd have no way to replace them because fighting at all costs me like 12,000 credits because they had fighters that were destroyed." I do not like AotR because they lost the pick up and play nature of Empire at War while making their mod because maintenance costs mechanic makes it impossible for that type of player, and this mod seems to be following that path.

I do enjoy way more ship variety, but at least from what I've heard in the past, there were desires to remove shield hard points from capital ships from even ISDs to make them more durable and brawly. While I do agree to a small degree that they need more survivability, I would argue just giving them an additional shield hardpoint as depicted in their ship model having two ball shield generators. I'm worried that this change will literally invalidate anything smaller than capital ships or at least make frigates quite bad.
I'm excited nonetheless for 5.0 mainly because I haven't done a single land battle since my first gc (I just auto resolved cheap land regiments now).
Oh trust me it wont, frigates are CRUCIAL in this new version. They fighter screen so hard and are way harder to hit. They do a ton for fleets overall now
I really hope that they could have a alliance or vasalization mechanic added it will work great in the mod and I hate to destroy factions like the republic royalists and especially the venetors.
You can build their ships on multiple planets tho lol

So call me crazy and hopeful but me and my friend love this game and are hoping for a coop campaign mode. Is this something that could ever be done or is simply not possible with the engine?
It depends on the mod truly.
Remake would have to sacrifice a LOT to even make it possible. I believe some mods have that choice but their game mechanics are massively simplified
Graphics are fine as it is right now if they add like you say more purpose to small ships like frigates and corvettes that will be great also if can be done modders should also add missions for sake of roleplay and purpose for expansion in the campaign

Probably not. I’ll be doing long form videos but with a simpler premise. I just don’t have the time these days and I have a habit of starting the campaigns and not finishing them

For remake? That will most likely not happen. Multiplayer usually means removing almost ALL the cool stuff hence why many mods dont aim to improve that area unfortunately. MP is far too hard to fix when it comes to things like crashing
the only thing i dont like is that it seems corvettes no longer maintain formation with a fleet. like come on bro
Corvettes are small fats moving ships that rely on maneuverability. They’d don’t sit that still in most Star Wars games it makes sense and it makes them a harder target
@@JayTheGam3r yeah but it actually looked nice, plus you commonly see them depicted as staying in formation in movies or novels etc.
it would be really nice if we had a button like hunt for enemies on them, which would make them break formation and hunt down fighters, but otherwise staying in a fleet

What about Galactic Conquest? Is there any improve? Because the IA in 4.0 versions was so dump and the main factions were too weak and wanst really a threat making the campaign king of boring.

Yeah ome MAJOR team change happened recently that slowed the update down significantly, it is actively being worked on though
i have to guesse that multiplayer GC is still on the bench ...
Not on the bench just in development like any other mod. GC has always been playable but everything’s being overhauled

Problem is most modern units and the system to incorporate those units these days are too complicated to bring over to Mp GC without further issues. Or something like that but it is very difficult

@@scorpion7532 Yeah. The alternative is we cut 90% of the cool stuff to keep the game stable but then it ends up being sorta barebones. Most mods that have multiplayer sacrifice some other possible features for stabilities sake and we really don’t wanna do that
