    What a wonderful adventure and thanks for sharing with us your searches. This is a gem of a city too often forgotten by their coastal beach areas. Keep up the good work.

    We are a black digital nomad couple and I promise we mean this as a compliment…..It’s cool to see a nerdy black couple on RUclips. There’s a narrative that intelligent black people always marry interracially but we are proof that’s false and it’s always nice to see other couples that are also proof. We also love CDMX and have lived there for 6 month stints a few times now.

    Congratulations on the move! I love seeing us move abroad!! My husband and I are considering either Mexico City or San Miguel De Allende. We also have a toddler, so trying to find the best place to relocate for him is key. I love that there’s so many things to do with children in Mexico City. Can you share your reasons that you decided on Mexico City? Also, how are the kids adjusting?

    • @o.family.adventures
      @o.family.adventures  9 месяцев назад

      Yay! Planning a move abroad is so exciting 😍 We chose Mexico City because it’s walkable, there’s an abundance of things to do, it’s a big international city so it has diversity, there are a lot of bilingual schools, the Black expat/immigrant community is strong.. we also just love it. It’s so beautiful & there’s so much to see, do & explore.

    • @CrystalDale-zx3qj
      @CrystalDale-zx3qj 9 месяцев назад

      It’s both exciting and terrifying lol. Mexico City looks amazing but I hadn’t seen many black epxats with children there. Nice! I didn’t know there always a strong community!! That’s a game changer! We may have to split our trip to visit both places! TYSM!

    Also as a heads up, make sure buildings are built to endure earthquakes, the areas you are looking at are vulnerable to earthquakes. North of the city doesn't get it as much as can be more economic, not as nice maybe but still safe ( don't go to el Rosario) and I do recommend newly built apartments. Don't worry so much about space, it's good to have space but keep in mind CDMX is a city you might want to EXPLORE, so you might sacrifice space but gain a whole world of exteriors.good luck.

    Try Mixcoac near El parque hundido or around it. I'll recommend to get a lower floor & a place that is newer just in case as Mexico city there is earthquakes. I lived there 12 years and no problem, but doesnt hurt to be on safer side. The Northern side is even safer in terms of earthquakes.

    I super Love Mexico City, But it´s a Big difference to visit for a week and walk around parks and coffee shops ?
    Than to join the rat race with daily trips to school, living in the heart of one of the Biggest Cities in the world,
    traffic jams downtown Mexico City , in peak hours can go for 2,3 hours, I think, It must be a very well and conscious decision.
    My best wishes! and enjoy lots of Tacos !

    • @gocookies77
      @gocookies77 10 месяцев назад +1

      Definitely! Once you get into the daily life routine, that's where the true Cdmx experience begins. I would recommend trying to find a home near where you live, I was lucky to find a home near my work, only 4k pesos a month and a 20 minute walk from work. Made life so easier, I love the metro but I am not envious of those who use it during peak times. If you don't need to use the metro during peak times DONT, it can be super stresful. Hope yall have a good time, CDMX 4 EVA

  • @ctochtli2964
    @ctochtli2964 9 месяцев назад +1

    Yes, that "European touch" is due to a obsession of one of our presidents back in the XVII century who wants really hard to recreate the French design.
    Today there is a law that oblige every new building or remodelation to match a "colonialism" design in some zones in the CDMX (I'm no fan of that but is what it is).

    • @joelewishenry7886

      Porque tu comentario tiene una dosis de ignorancia. No toda la migración es mala. Esta pareja va a poner su dinero en el país y x ende ayudar a la economía local y de recaudación del país. Esta es la nueva realidad del mundo,no nada más en México. Lo q se debe d regular es a la gente local y hacer a los dueños d las propiedades sean más conscientes en no correr a la gente local x querer ganar más dinero. El gobierno de la CDMX ya está trabajando en una ley para regular incrementos de rentas y desplazamientos - lo demás es efecto de la inflación como en todo el mundo.
      Es una total contradicción quejarnos como mexicanos cuando tenemos unos 36 millones d inmigrantes en EU.
      Bienvenida la migración de acuerdo a nuestras leyes.
      Somos un país que históricamente turístico y cálido y que la da la bienvenida al que nos visita , eso no cambiará, aunque siempre habrá gente un poco amargada como tú - qué se le puede hacer…

Mexico is the 11 biggest economies in the world and growing it has great world renowned cuisine, and culture and great nice people I mean I could go on and on. Most websites/magazines/surveys have it as one of the best places to retire, cost of living I mean i could go on and on too inifinity. Africa is not even close sorry no hate just reality
