Yes because Kolkata is hub of international business so dollar comes from other countries to Kolkata ... reducing the price inflation of the city apart from rest of India ...where prices are increasing every six month but in Kolkata prices are almost same from 1 tea cost to apartment rents ...it's like a frozen time machine ....so the city is becoming rich day by day as lots of bengalis live in America London Europe and all over world bringing money from other countries to our beautiful state and city ...Durga Puja is the biggest international festival in whole world after Christmas and ID ....that's the identity we have earned in world by our modern traditional mix culture

if you are a student and dont have this much money to spend, best option is living in a pg or hostel. well life wont be easy there but its relatively cheaper. i went to a college in kolkata, away from my hometown , and lived in the college hostel and it cost me around 4000 rs per month, including the monthly charge of the hostel, tuition fees and other stuff. the food was given by the hostel so it was included in the hostel fees. life was hard and hostels are dirty but its relatively cheaper. our monthly food charge in hostel was only 2200 rs although we had to pay 10k rs at the beginning of the year, which makes it around 833 rs per month plus the food charge of 2200 in the hostel. if u choose a pg, u can still find ones with monthly charge of 4k to 5k rs per month in north kolkata.

Kolkata is the best city according to me people r very helpful, cheap rent rates, transportation cost is very cheap u leave in the city like kolkata with your 5 member of family (couple, child n your parents)it will cost around 40k-45k
    As per middle class need
THE ONLY DISADVANTAGE OF THIS CITY IS LESS OPPORTUNITY IN TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT VERY LESS COMPANIES FOR EDUCATED YOUTH

Thank you for all the great info you are providing. I'm planning to move to Kolkata as soon as visas are given again to Canadians. What neighborhood should I explore in North Kolkata to rent my first apartment/flat/PG etc? I'm looking for a safe but lively neighborhood, with parks and street food. BTW many of your links in the description are not working|

How cheap is kolkatta rent yaar?
A place similar to yours in Mumbai would be 3x the rent at least. As a person who is still living with parents on their money and staying alone/ becoming independent is still a very scary step for me as I don't even earn anything.
Also your monthly grocery bill would probably be my weekly grocery expenses which is just a newsflash to me

Having spent my formative years and even my teens in Kolkata, I surely do know how it is so very cheap out there for basic necessities and survival, especially when you compare it with other metro and even some of the 2 tier cities...btw can you tell us more about the course subscription that you spoke of? That gives you access to numerous expensive courses at a nominal rate? Would really appreciate it, thank you :)

This is for you-: why most of the people are prefer to speak in English everywhere...I'm very much wondered to see that people are not even interested to communicate with the nation language which is called "Hindi"... having good amount of knowledge in English is good but beside of all that we can also speak in hindi as well..I hope that you could speak hindi and I'm expecting tht you're next video will be in hindi language or as both little bit mix up...so I once again believe that you will agree with me...
