LIQUID TENSION EXPERIMENT REACTION
#liquidtensionexperiment #thepassageoftime #reactionvideo
Keep in mind, Tony Levin is 74 years old, and rocking it the hell out of the park!
Guy is a genius.
I need to learn those slides but I need a Chapman Stick to do them proper lol
Tony has worked with a lot of other bands. I saw him handling the bass at a Anderson Bruford Wakeman & Howe show.
i got to see king crimson live in november 2017. so good!
Yes the guy phenomenal!
Doing this kind of music at his age... Jesus! 👌
Ohh liquid tension experiment. Must listen songs:
Paradigm shift
Universal mind
Acid rain
When the water breaks
Don't forget Biaxident and Hourglass. Biaxident could fun for him because of the way it ends, and Hourglass because it's something very different but from the same orign.
@@JettoDz another dimension aswell
I'd add Biaxident
yes I approve this message, those are the best songs.
It's like a neverending story, but Kindred Spirits is there too with the aforementioned.
So glad to hear petrucci and portnoy playing together again. The core of DT.
Honestly makes me so happy. Mangini is a technician and phenomenal in his own right, but Portnoy is an animal apart and brings the best out of Petrucci and Rudess.
@@Smac2321 I find Mangini's playing so sterile and boring. Part of that is how they have been mixing his parts since he joined the band but it's also down to his playing style. Portnoy has a sort of swagger about him. Mangini is just a drum machine that plays perfectly. Boring to listen to imo.
@@RingoFreakingStarr I couldn't agree more. What's more, they had the shot to hire Marco Minneman or Thomas Lang and went with Mangini. He really does play like a professor giving instruction...
Didn't Mike play on John's solo album?
@@Bs73471 yeah, I keep.forgetting about that, lol.
Jordan Rudess is probably the most amazing keyboard player that I've ever heard. Typically keyboard parts in most rock bands tend to sound ambient or kind of layered as background sugar. Rudess plays his board like a guitar player - ripping it up!!!
Ever heard of The Doors?
@@larjkok1184 Yes. They were average musicians. Nothing spectacular, in my opinion.
ray manzarek is one of the best keyboard player ever
Checkout the band called Adagio, especially the album Underworld. There are some songs(like Chosen) that have the most insane keyboard shredding I ever heard
check out the video titled "Rick Wakemans awesone piano solo"
I found this reaction searching passage of time videos and woooow beautiful!! I heard this song before, actually is in my daily list of song but wooow I really enjoy every reaction from you like I did the first time that I heard this song OMG, as a amateur musician I really enjoy when pro musician get the same vibe as me… every part of the phrases, every part of you know what are they doing is so satisfied!!! Thanks you doing what you’re doing!! Greetings from South America, you have now a new fan, god bless you
You know what's even crazier? They wrote the entire album in just a few weeks, mostly by jamming together and then just quickly recording what they liked. The musicianship is just top notch!
It is always a joy to watch people explain why this music is as awesome as it is. thank you!
Your "shaving mishap" story doesn't fool me, Geebz. You're doing a Maynard cosplay! :D
When I saw this I couldn't believe my eyes, I had to double check it. After 22 years these guys are releasing another album!!! This is HUGE
Yes i think John, Jordan and Mike wanted to work together again and Mike can‘t rejoin Dream Theater so LTE was the only way. 😅
Also sounds a lot more like old Dream Theater stuff than LTE imo.
@@YlL-ji2sl The middle section sounds like DT (Petrucci even put a nod to In The Presence of Enemies), the beginning and the end I feel are much more LTE.
petruccis playing so clean its killing covid
Haha great comment. Wish it was true
As a musician, I just wanted to tell you how awesome over all things to see this music absolutely hit all your (for lack of another term) musical g-spots. It is INCREDIBLE to see you react that way. I love your videos. And hey, you're still handsome with the buzzed head. I've been in circumstance a couple of times myself! Please keep doing your videos. You are my favorite on all of youtube. Ill buy ya cups of coffee here in the near future. Keep on man. You help a disabled musician get through the days and rekindled my ambition the compose again! Thank you very much!!!
I like to call them the all star team because every position is filled someone is one of if the best at their instrument. This band is really amazing to listen to.
Amen
Whats awesome is that we've been waiting for a 3rd LTE album for years and this is the first track released off the new album, so a lot of us who are already LTE fans get to hear this one for the first time with you.
On a side note, if you want to react to more LTE, just go ahead and react to some of their live videos. The performances and sound quality is on par with the studio versions and its fun to watch them actually play.
It would be easy to suggest that any of the musicians carried the song because each of them actually carried the song at different points in the song.
That being said, Mike Portnoy is truly the driver of LTE. His drumming is incomparable, and his timing is mind blowing.
You should definitely check their "Acid Rain" it's amazing
I know LTE from their first works (1998, 1999) and this new song is AMAZING!!! the first melodic section when keyboards come in gave me goosebumps since first listening. Mike Portnoy (drummer) is a rock machine, and in parallel to this work he also worked with Transatlantic, another super group with Roine Stolt (The Flower Kings), Pete Trevawas (Marillion) and Neal Morse (ex Spock's Beard). Anyway these musician, in my opinion, are the best in the musical scene at the moment... Tony Levin between them, absolutely not the last one among bass players
You’re reactions are so great one of the best if not the best music reaction on RUclips you deserve more recognition!
Another great guy is 'Critical Reactions'. Otherwise most reactors suck ass. Especially the ones boasting as "drum teachers" with zero contribution to the song and rhythm ideas.
Another favorite of mine is finowa. He basically dissects Tool songs first listen and tends to hate them, but always funny and with a lot of musical knowledge.
You’re face expresions are priceless, thats the LTE effect, cant wait for the rest of the album!
100% agree with your comment on the keyboard solo, I couldn’t believe my ears, and it was my absolute favorite part of the song! I think all the musicians are at their best in this particular project (LTE), and this album is likely going to be my album of the year, maybe even the decade. Also, amazing channel, this is my first video of yours and I just subscribed
I was just about to recommend this one to you - and saw your reaction!
Jordan Rudess (keyboards) and John Petrucci (guitar) are currently in Dream Theater. Mike Portnoy is formerly of Dream Theater, and now plays in several bands (Neal Morse Band, the Winery Dogs, Transatlantic, and Sons of Apollo are a few of the more well-known). Tony Levin has never been in Dream Theater, but has been in King Crimson since 1981, has been Peter Gabriel's go-to bassist since 1977, has his own band called Stick Men, and roughly 500 session credits.
The music video image is frozen for me, so I can't tell if you are seeing Tony Levin's fingers through the song - but it is amazing watching him play those blazing riffs *fingerstyle* ... and with dead-on precision and consistency! And then, just to make it even crazier, right around the 3:30 mark, he switches from the MusicMan 5-string to his Chapman Stick & goes nuts for a couple of minutes before switching *back* to the 5-string at 5:49!
BTW - I've kept my hair short for decades - I'm former Navy, so got in the habit way back - but about 2 months into COVID lockdowns, hated the shaggies, so shaved it all off, and liked it. Welcome to the fresh aire club! :-P
Your reaction to their solos reminds me of when I first heard Dream Theater! 😂 I'm excited for you, because there are so many amazing tracks from both DT and LTE that you've yet to hear, and you'll be making that face many more times when you do!
I'd personally like to recommend the song Iconoclast by Symphony X, it's the title track and intro to their 2011 record and it's a killer track! Progressive neoclassical metal, some of their stuff is a bit hit or miss in my opinion but that track is a real gem!
The keyboardist (Jordan Rudess from Dream Theater) actually went to Juilliard so he really knows his music. This is the first single off their first album since 2009 so it's been a long time coming for fans.
Their old stuff is fantastic as well. When The Water Breaks live is fantastic
Liquid Tension Experiment are really great. The musicianship is undeniable. I agree with some of the commenters that the new track sounds rather predictable and unadventurous - especially if you have heard their stuff or Dream Theater stuff before. It's still a very solid song, of course, and it serves as a nice welcoming fanfare for the 3rd coming of the band. But I hope they take more compositional risks with some of the other tracks on the album.
On the InsideOut website (their label), they said that this was the first track they did. They offered less description for this one, but as for the other tracks, it seems like we are getting everything from jazz to speed metal to jam material and everything!!! Cannot wait!
It scores 10/10 in prog metal nostalgia and thats worth everything to me :)
This is great soloing. But still my favourite JP solo (and probably a good song to do a video on) is the one from voices from the Awake album... It's magic. And the song is great. As is that album, probably my favourite dream theatre.
As someone who is absolutely ecstatic because of LTE's long awaited return this video really hit the spot. It's so great to see someone discover this music and immediately share the enthusiasm long time fans feel for it. Cheers!
The joy I saw in your face during the keyboard solo was exactly the same way I felt when I hear it
Holy crap! I have all the Liquid T albums and this is shocking news they're releasing a new one!
I am so excited to have discovered these videos!! I don't know anyone else that listens to and appreciates this kind of music, so it is amazing to see these bands getting the props they deserve in the videos and comments.
Last year I discovered Wilderun, especially their latest album Veil of Imagination. I would be ecstatic for you to check it out, the level of commitment and passion that was clearly put into the album is stunning. "O Resolution!" was my top song on Spotify last year, it is an amazing ride.
Anyway, back to binging and catching up! :D
I LOVE hearing John, Rudess, and Portnoy playing together. brings me back to the Original Dream Theater days. I know Mangini is amazing and fits well with the band doesn't mean I'm not allowed to miss Portnoy.
Rudess is DT's 3rd keyboardist. The band was around for almost 15 years before he joined.
Agree. MP brought that special sauce /spark. MM is amazing but MP was one of the original 3 core members (Portnoy / Petrucci / Myung). So happy they reunited for this AND for Petruccis newest solo CD.
Hey Geebz - (not that) Gary Wright here again. Funny story - I'm in the eastern US and I work from home, so when I got down to my office about 7:30 this morning, this video was staring at me from my Facebook feed. Listened to it immediately (speakers and a sub-woofer, not headphones at 7:30 AM) and reacted pretty much the same way you did. I made a mental note to go back and listen again this evening, and it turns out that second listening was this one with you.
Like most, I'm aware of all these musicians. Started listening to King Crimson when I was in high school in '74 (although Tony didn't come along till '81). First heard Dream Theater around 2000, probably.
Actually this is just available for pre-order right now, it won't be out till 3/26. But there are the other two albums (CD's, whatever) out as well as a live effort.
Back at the beginning of the pandemic, Jordan was streaming live on Facebook from his house every day at 4:30 PM Eastern time. (He's since moved this over to Patreon.) All that time I was making it a point to wrap up my work in time to be able to sit back and enjoy Jordan just improv and ramble on his grand piano for like 45 to 90 minutes every day. He is an amazing talent.
You're ontop of it with this one! You had a reaction video posted before I even heard it myself! And LTE is my all time favorite band!
Also, please, please, please make merch with "Musical Decomposer" or something similar to it! That would be soooo awesome and you could do so much original stuff with it. Also, if you don't have a patreon. Change that!
If you wanna see/hear those guys at their best, I suggest Acid Rain and When The Water Breaks... mindblowing
The back stody of "Water Breaks" is amazing and funny as well
Do some Ayreon! The guy composes high sci-fi epic concept albums and each character is voiced by amazing vocal guests, some of which I believe you've heard on your journey so far.
Can't wait for the Ayreon reaction, it's gonna blow his mind!!!
From Ayeron I would definitely pick the Human Equation. What an album!
Ooo... Do "The Decision Tree"
I'd love to hear his reaction to anything off of The Human Equation or The Source.
The Day That The World Breaks Down from The Source is definitely a good place to begin an Ayreon journey.
Tony Levin's chapman stick playing is so friggin' fantastic! Adds so many tasty nuggets throughout the track (apparently he played a standard electric bass and chapman stick on this one). . .
I'd love a break down of Close to the Edge by Yes. It's long but it's one of those songs I could listen to a thousand times and never get bored of. All the different moving pieces and motifs coming together to create a beautiful piece of music. The a part in the middle where everything calms down before cathedral-esque organ comes in and it always sends shivers down my spine at how hauntingly beautiful it is.
With a background as a composer, one little candidate that you probably would have never come across yourself that should give you quite a bit to bite into is "DIMMU BORGIR - Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse (LIVE - FORCES OF THE NORTHERN NIGHT)"
Was so happy when this finally got a release, had the old fuzzy TV recording for years. Awesome show! 🤟🏻
Great song but Kings of the Carnival Creation almost brings me to tears...
The entire Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia album is masterful.
dimmu is awesome! death cult armageddon is prob my favorite dimmu borgir album. eradication instincts defined gets turned up to 50 when it comes on.
You know when I saw your new (lack of a) haircut and read the title I thought "It's a good thing he has no hair so he doesn't loses it by checking out Liquid Tension Experiment"
LOL! :)
underrated comment ^
top
the year when i found LTE is indeed the year i really started losing my hair.. i mean what did i think was gonna happen with levin and rudess together in one band
same hair as Tony and Jordan ;-)
There's so much to unpack in this one short song. They've managed to hit old LTE references and old Dream Theater references in this one track, multiple times.
This was amazing. I can't wait for the album and HOPEFULLY a tour.
Absolutely awesome channel! I love watching you go through the experience! LTE is just out of this world. Portnoy and Petrucci - this is what DT have been missing for over 10 years now!
You have to check out more of them. Acid Rain is their most popular piece (and it deserves it), but I would recommend the live (in LA 2008) performance to really see them go wild with it. When the Water Breaks and Universal Mind are also great. Hope you do more!
I was at that show!!
I'm loving your videos, man. It's really great to see someone so clearly experiencing joy in music. It would be super cool to see you react to:
- Haken (1985, The Cockroach King, Messiah Complex)
- Caligula's Horse - Graves
Cheers!
You absolutely need to listen to "Daughter of the Mountain" by Caligula's Horse. Amazing track, really well balanced and pretty.
Yes, he should listen to it.
Caligula's horse was a band I kept a tab on for so long and finally started to listen to them towards the beginning of the pandemic and I have to say they are exactly up my alley. Strong Haken and leprous vibes with them. Anything off rise radiant would be killer
@@albreezy26 Ya, I fuck with Haken and Leprous too. I started on Bloom, hence the suggestion, but just yesterday I listened to The Ascent, and that was a slammer. Caligula's Horse is so consistently great.
So good.
@@brodieknight772 he has reacted to them once on the channel already and you're into prog, so you're probably aware of them, but you must listen to thank you scientist if you haven't yet. They're an S tier band for me
Great to hear this song for the first time ever and doing it together with You! The opening part wasn't that impressive, but what followed floored me totally.
Hey Geebz!
"When the water breaks" from Liquid Tension Experiment is also a master piece! Check it out if you can!
Keep up the great job!
John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy formed Majesty ( to become Dream Theater later) back in the 80's during their days at Berklee College of Music in Boston. They have phenomenal chemistry from so many years of playing together. Jordan Rudess joined DT after the first LTE album in 1997. His skills from professional training at Juliard in NYC are untouchable. Tony Levin brings in years of experience playing Bass Guitar and is just the icing on the cake. These guys have unbelievable chemistry together and have recorded 2 and now 3 of the best Prog Rock/Prog Metal albums in history. Thanks for the reaction and review!
Acid Rain and Paradigm Shift are must do songs from this group
i had an old golf game for pc and you could set sounds for achievements. i set the intro to paradigm shift for hitting a hole-in-one. unfortunately i never got one myself, but my college roommate did, and it scared the shit out of him!
Thanks for checking out LTE's new release. "When the Water Breaks" is one of my favorite LTE compositions. Link for live rendition: ruclips.net/video/aSU0xBGfkfg/видео.html
Arcade Fire - Everything now.
There’s a lot going on from a production aspect, a lot to breakdown. It’s so good!
That was some else, damn that's impressive. So complex. I suggest looking at: Unexpect - The Quantum Symphony, Diablo Swing Orchestra - Vodoo Mon Amour, Between the Buried and Me - Extremophile Elite, and Beyond Creation - Omnipresent Perception. It would awesome if at some point you managed to do some of them, particularly Unexpect and Diablo Swing Orchestra. They are small band that are not often reacted to or analysed and I think you'd be a great person to react to those. Unexpect were an independent band and were from my home town, so they have a particular place in my heart, and DSO are just so much fun. Keep at it, you have great takes on music and I really appreciate your take on music.
I still haven't recovered from Unexpect breaking up.
Best part of DT concerts (in the past): LTE songs just casually dropped into the setlist here or there.
I found your channel roughly a month or so ago and I absolutely love it. I also love how you are breaking the mould with these reactions coming from the perspective of a composer. Loving the videos bro!
Looking good dude, dont worry! haha. Cheer's for the videos, breath of fresh air.
Classic Petrucci melody lines!
If you're into keyboard solos so much then check out Jordan's performance in "Kindred Spirits" by LTE. Maybe is less complex but in my opinion it is his most emotional solo of all. My personal best as well. It gives me goose bumps every time I hear it. The song itself is one of my LTEs favorites too.
God, its unbelievable...i`ve seen this video more than a hundred times now but i still find new things that i hear for the first time. Thanks Geeebz!!
Been waiting so long for this and Definitely not disappointed, but I’ll just say that I hope the rest of the album has more of the experimental LTE side. After all, that’s a big part of LTE!
Dream theater, instrumedley, i would love you get your opinion on that!
The one from Live at Budokan 😊🤘🏻
@@sebulban the best one 👌
Love your videos. I appreciate the knowledge you possess and the way you impart it.
These are the great old men and remember me getting older! Tony born '46, Jordan born '56 and the two youngsters Mike and John both born '67 - man, time is running!
Amen. Crazy how time flies.
Without you I wouldn't have noticed the greatness of the keyboards. Thank you.
Amazing, as expected. Jordan Rudess has a solo record out called, Wired for Madness, it's incredible. A lot of guest musicians on it, including: Marco Minnmann, John Petrucci, Joe Bonamassa to name a few.
It is only "the best keyboard solo you have ever heard" because you haven't extensively listened to a lot of Dream Theater yet. 😊
late 90s DT stufs are the best
I prefer LTE over dream theatre in my opinon :\
@@__________8146 what about classic DT?
One word: "Home"
@@LuckilyHeDied one of their best
You should 100% consider listening to Home Invasion/Regret 9 by steven wilson! Absolute killer track, ployrhythms, killer solo by guthrie govan, i think marco minemann on drums it's just so awesome!!!
Holy crap this reaction is way better than mine lol! Instant subscribe
Saved listening to this for this reaction video. Great to experience new music in this way. First part made me think of some late seventies / early eighties prog. Can't really pinpoint which band or bands though. Love the 'meandering' around the core riffs building up towards the middle, more melodic, part. Awesome skills across the whole range. Also loved the last part with the amplifying riffs leading to the blasting finale.
I would love to hear what unique lyricists/vocalists(vocal instrumentalists!) could add to such a track (in those rare passages where they could actually add something lol), like Maynard YK, Mikael A or Anneke vG. Tbh such 100% instrumental tracks at this intensity rate aren't really my cup of tea, despite their epicness, which in this case is a totally justified qualification indeed. I prefer them a bit slower/lighter, with some accompanying vocal instrumentation to complete the musical painting / work of art.
Hmm ... turning a guitar into a coffee table may actually be a good idea.
*gazes at guitar catching dust in the corner of the room and the piano that incidentally serves as a coffee table while still in use*
Man, this was great, first of all sorry about your haircut incident but that was truly hilarious, when you say "Oh shit i'm committed now" I lost it lol! Then I really liked a thing you said about the musicians being accomplished seniors and yet delivering a very compelling, fresh 2021 sounding composition. I had the same thought exactly when i first listened to this track, one tends to think at some point musicians reach a point where they said all they needed to say, but hose guys, wow. Super hyped about the album, can't wait :)
+1 for Acid Rain, Paradigm Shift and Universal Mind next
This is the best I've heard JP, JR, and MP sound on a record since Metropolis pt. 2
today was the first time i saw your videos and it instantly made me smile! I love to see how you can enjoy good music, i kinda react the same! but then again, what's not to like about this song from LTE! Everytime i listen to it, it brings tears of joy to my eyes!
oh man, this reminds me...you absolutely need check out the band FROST* from the UK. Check out Heartstrings and/or Black Light Machine. I think you'd appreciate Jem's keyboard-centric compositional style. Look up The Rockfield Files live videos, would LOVE to see your reaction to either of em (just go in knowing there is a 2-3 minute intro at the beginning of them)
Please react to some Jacob Collier stuff, maybe "all night long" he's a cracy musician and music theory wise one of the best out there
He is incredible! Moon River, You and I, and In The Bleak Midwinter are my personal favorites!
He is one of the most tallented musicians ever his compositions are amazinz to say the least and he has an extremely extensive knowledge of music and music theory he taught a class at Berkley college of Music. I first hear of him a few years ago from Steve Vai he said Jacob is one of the most talented people he has ever seen perform live.
@@omegaman420 He has one of the best voices, can play basically any instrument, and his knowledge of theory is incredible. He is also one of the best songwriters I have ever heard.
Geebz, is that you?!?! lol. Looking good dude! excited to see what Meshuggah and Nightwish is going to be next...
Just found out your RUclips channel. Really enjoy the reviews you put out. Very inspiring. Keep up the good work!!!
FINALLY LTE! I am in love with this band. Was suggesting Acid Rain lol. U still need to do Acid Rain, any version :) I am so hyped about this album, it will be epic.
Since you mentioned your uncle, I did a quick google search and was surprised to see that (among many other cool things) he was in Caldera. That's awesome. Can't say I am an expert or anything, but I really like those Caldera records.
Thank you man 🙏💙💙 When The Water breaks (live) next 😄
Wow! I actually thought i'd skip that album, 'cause it would just be nerdy trills all over the place, but this changed my mind! I'll totally check it out, thank you!
When the Water Breaks will always be my favorite track from LTE
Plini - Electric sunrise.. If you haven't done it already 🌞
One of his previous was "Cascade" off the same album.
Hey I don't comment much on your channel, maybe once in a while, but I do watch a good amount every now and again, and I appreciate what you do.
I've been wanting someone to listen to something from the new Corelia album that came out last year. This was an album that was supposed to come out in 2015, and even got funded by the community in an indiegogo campaign but it never came out at the time. Apparently someone in the band was dealing with mental health issues, and was practically holding the album hostage in a way. They didn't give us any info for years and left us wondering with many of us frustrated and rightly so. They didn't take the correct approach unfortunately, we don't know the details.
However in May of last year they released what they had: an unmastered 90 minute record. Even with it being rough around the edges, we still have some real gold in there. The community once again stepped up and someone got AI to remaster the album in its entirety for maybe a couple hundred dollars over all. This band is really something special to me, and it's incredibly saddening that I really don't think there is anything more from them. I at least wanted to share a song or so from them so people knew how great they were/ are.
I would recommend the songs: New Wilderness, Bastion, Stellar, or a longer song called Blight of Imagination. Be sure to look for the LANDR Community Remaster version. Appreciate it.
If you want another supergoup-style prog performance check out Stockholm from O.S.I. The core of the project is Jim Matheos (guitarist and songwriter for OG prog metal pioneers Fates Warning) and Kevin Moore (original Dream Theater keys). The song features Mikael Akerfeldt from Opeth on vocals and Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree on drums.
Thanks again. Another track waiting for the decomposition: "How the Jellyfish Jumped up the Mountain" by Shpongle
I have also suggested "Divine Moments of Truth" just because it's in odd times and it's polyrhythmic at times. Any Shpongle would be interesting to hear his take.
It’s like Emerson, Lake, Lake and Palmer, evolved for modern day. Phenoms, all.
Karn Evil 9 and Tarkus are their best songs.
Keith Emerson is probably Rudess’ greatest influence, and I 100% agree!
@@MetalheadNation I love Jordan’s version of “Tarkus.”
@@MattKrogmeier So do I! It’s almost 15 years old and is still amazingly fresh and inspiring!
I love playing LTE on drums, fun workout. Always start with Paradigm shift
Wow, this track is awesome! I need to check this one out again on my own and spend some more time with this band.
I've seen it suggested a few times, so I'll add my voice to the choir: You definitely need to check out Extremophile Elite by Between the Buried and Me. They're about as prog as prog gets, and that song shows it off really well.
You just opened up a colorful blitzkrieg of third eye purple level talent
If you’re going to do LTE then I’d like to suggest something by Spastic Ink or the latest Watchtower EP. Aquanet or Mathematica Calculis
“Tuna in the Brine” by Silverchair. One of the most beautifully arranged songs of all time.
It's right up there with "Emotion Sickness" and "Black Tangled Heart" for me!
Great channel, I am enjoying it!! Might I suggest tracks from Front Line Assembly:
Prophecy,
Gun,
This Faith, or
Psychosomatic.
2:10 The mad key scientist that is Rudess comes in and he's already weak at the knees. Rudess can match Petrucci to a tee. This has to be the most talented super group ever assembled. Try Acid Rain by Liquid Tension. The live version is amazing!
Loved it. Need to buy you a coffee someday:)
And i think... You're the best reactor so far! Haha 🤘
Lots of good synth solos to choose from. I’m partial to some of the sections in Octavarium.
I HATE reaction videos, but I love your channel. Keep up the great work!
Some things you might be interested in reacting to (or even listening to):
Unprocessed - Real feat. Polyphia's Tim Henson & Clay Gober
KNOWER -Overtime (Live Band sesh)
Jacob Mann Big Band - Hold Music
Jacob Man Big Band - Kogi
Louis Cole - F it up.
Vulfpeck - It Gets Funkier IV
More in line with the funk/jazz/fusion/big band sort of stuff which is a departure from what your reacting too but the musicianship is amazing.
I highly recommend checking out “In The Shadow Of Our Pale Companion” by Agalloch.
One of the most emotionally moving songs I’ve ever heard.
Oh I love that song, best song of Agalloch for me.
The entire album The Mantle is great. Also worth a listen: Wolves in the Throne Room - I Will Lay Down My Bones Among the Rocks and Stones
The new look does work, you certainly own it!
This is one of my most anticipated albums of the year, cannot wait!! Gummy Bear tunes!! 🤙
going full bald like Maynard. xD Oh ok, I thought it got blocked, but it was just removed and reuploaded I guess.. I listened to the new song, it's ok, but you need to check out their old stuff man.. For example Paradigm Shift, Acid Rain, Biaxident and When the Water Breaks- which is their best song.
Yes! It’s ok, but didn’t made me feel like the old ones that brought something new ... this is same same 🤷🏼♀️
@@oranloyfer yeah I feel the same way about it.. But we'll see when the rest of the album comes out..
I can't help but I automatically compare it to recent DT stuff and in terms of composition this song is so much better than anything they released in the last 5 years. Maybe not on the old LTE level but it makes me interested in the rest of the album. If you keep in mind that this was the first song they wrote I'm sure that it was in kind of a comfort zone for all if you can name it so on this level. I think the real stuff is still to come :)
On first listen I like the older work better. This song does gets better towards the end.
@@MycontentisgoldJerryGold no doubt but I thought after 20 years it will bring something new just by a little bit
@Key of Geebz I feel like you would enjoy "Consider the source" they have a unique collection of sounds that trigger a strong emotional ride.
