I wanted to let you know that I'll be visiting you soon, and I plan to bring some friends and associates along. Our purpose for this visit is to see and evaluate the trees you intend to sell off. We are eager to explore the selection and discuss potential acquisitions.
Bjorn I’m of Japanese heritage but 4th generation in the USA. You are more in tune with the Japanese aesthetic and culture than I am. I have always admired your work and your great teaching videos. You are going to the heart of Japanese aesthetic and culture in the jewel that Kyoto is. You will bring new blood to Japanese bonsai with a fresh modern western perspective. That can only make bonsai art even better. Much success to you and your family.
following u Since the beginning. I am deeply heartbroken that I won't be able to apprentice in tennessee. I don't know if I'll ever be able to make it too, Japan so expensive... I really wish you luck on this next journey. I wish I could buy that property in Tennessee..
Wow, it's a big and bold decision and I wish you and your family all the best! I'm excited to see what's coming in the future and glad to hear we get to continue to learn from you thru Bonsai-U! 👍Cant wait to visit Eisei-en Kyoto!
Family first. I was mad in the beginning, since I didn't get a chance to do the intensive classes with you here. But to do a month or two in Japan, I'm looking forward to sign up for that waitlist :) I do hope you are still open for visits? I'd like to visit before the end of the year, before all the trees are gone.
Being closer to family to help raise your child is the number 1 reason to move anywhere. I get that completely. I'm actually excited for you and your family.
Congrats Bjorn! I've been following you since 2018 when your videos were shot as a vlog - the algorithm chose the "$200k Bonsai" video as an introduction to your channel lol. Tom (Kouka-en) has spoken many great things about you (he lives in the same city as me - Vancouver, BC); so both of us are wishing you the best!! Excited to see the material you'll be working with next year!!
Thank you for sharing and best wishes for your new adventure! Two questions if I may ask: How are you going to be able to sell all your trees before moving in such a short time? What happened to the big “Tornado”Juniper Bonsai, do you still have it or you managed to move it for your buyer?
Good for you!!!! All the best and great success in your next great adventure Wishing you and your family an environment that will promote health, love, joy, happiness; nourishment for the soul, great growth and proper pruning at the right time. Many thanks for all you leave as your legacy.
Your presence here in the southeast will be sorely missed. Thanks for introducing many like me to the hobby and making so much information and inspiration so accessible! One less reason to come back to Nashville, one more reason to visit Kyoto!
Whoa! Having grown up in the southeastern U.S. I know you will definitely be missed. Thank you for bringing a bit o' worldly cultuh to TN. We'll just have to add it to the mix of what's already here and keep on keepin' on! Best of good fortune to you and family! Onward!
I was hoping to come visit you in Nashville but I understand why you are moving. Actually, I am envious. Well, I've always wanted to visit Kyoto. Maybe I will visit you there someday. My former English professor at college loved Kyoto and I saw many photos of the Zen gardens there and heard stories about it thanks to him. I've had flight layovers in Osaka and Tokyo when traveling to and from China and a couple times was tempted to take the bullet train to Kyoto but was concerned I wouldn't make it back in time for my early morning departure flight the next day.
I have followed you as you built Eisei-en, you are one of the reasons I took interest into bonsai, I love your work. I hope you keep uploading quality videos. Best of luck to you and your family.
WoW! i have watched your videos from the very beginning and I have enjoyed the journey that you have shared with us. You have been a great inspiration to me even though I specialise in mame and shohin deciduous bonsai. I have even met you in Bury, England a few years ago and for me and my friend it was an amazing experience. Wishing you and your family all the very best and I'm looking forward to a new adventure..................
Very best of luck and much happiness for you and your family. I will be taking some Bonsai U classes and if able would love to come to Japan and participate in one of your intensive courses.
Having been intrigued by Bonsai since the age of 5, I decided it’s time to explore the art. Now at triple 20, I decided to research and learn the art of Bonsai. You guys have been a recent part of my learning process and I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve seen. Wishing you great love and success with your new adventure. I will continue to follow you. ✨🌟💚🌟✨
Hi Bjorn. What a great news. I wish you all the very best for this new chapter of your life. I can testify, back in 2017, how great has been a multi weeks bonsai study by your side in a Japanese nursery. Enjoy and continue to share all this valuable expertise and experience with us. Take care. Jerome
I am so happy for you. I don't care where you live. Teaching bonsai online can be done anywhere, and I look forward to seeing more of Japan through your camera lens. My wife and I have Japan, Kyoto specifically, as a bucket list vacation and your nursery will be our first stop when we get there. I have learned so much from you over the last year of studying bonsai and I'm thankful for your platform. Take care, and I'll see you in Japan! (eventually)
What?! Well very sad to see you go Bjorn but as always I have nothing but best wishes for you and your beautiful family. Your little girls is lucky to have you and Nanxi as parents. You take care and my house is your house always and we will always keep you in our hearts and minds. Tu Amigo Siempre
hi, I've been following you since your first videos when you were an apprentice, and then in Eisei En. also I can't wait to see the construction of the new nursery and of course the new bonsaïsthat you are going to work on. I wish you and your family good luck on your return to Japan. Philippe from France.
Congratulations Bjorn and family, i know you have spoken before that you didn't really want to leave Japan but circumstances didn't really allow for remaining, so it's fantastic news this opportunity has come back to you again. Hopefully you'll keep those beautiful pots that your Oyakata gave you when you sell everything else though!
Oh man Björn this is news I didn't expect, but I admire your courage to take this step and I see in your eyes that it is a big dream of yours to go to Japan. I wish you and your family all the best and I am happy to be able to clothe you on this path. ❤
All I can say it has-been amazing to watch you grow your Bonsai business. I have watched you many years and have enjoyed every minute. My wife told me when I started that it was just fade for me but that was almost thirty years ago and I still enjoy this art . I hope and pray for you and your family. I will be watching for you in Japan. Best wishes and thank you for that you have done, it has been amazing to watch all that you have done.
I am your fan I live in Thailand We wish you every success in your chosen path. I have followed you for a long time and will continue to follow you. Thank you for the knowledge you always provide. wish you luck😃
Got to do what is best for your family, I cant wait to see what you do in Japan. I will however miss seeing the progress of some of the amazing trees you've developed over the years in the USA, seeing them pop up in videos from time to time is like seeing an old friend.
Congratulations to you, Bjorn, and to your wife for a very courageous, heartfelt decision that prioritizes first your daughter’s nurture. Living your dreams as an artist and as parents is a great blessing. We will follow and support your artistry in bonsai practice as best we can in this transition, with great thanks and appreciation for your guidance in these last five years. Stay strong in your joys!
First, wishing you and family a smooth and enjoyable move back to Kyoto. Looking forward to your continuing your videos, your expertise & knowledge, and getting other perspectives from your Bonsai experts in Japan. Now, to look into the remote possibly procuring one or two of your incredible collection and bringing to the Pacific NW. Thank you for your wonderful instructional Bonsai videos.
What an amazing way for the intensive students to visit and learn about Japanese bonsai. Its so incredible to see the journey of both your business and family. Proud of you Bjorn.
Björn, You are making a good decision. Japan is an amazing country. It’s hard to not criticize the USA when comparing. You are making a wise and in my opinion the correct choice. I wish you all the very best in during your transition. I am excited to visit you in Japan when the time comes. Thank you for all your contributions to the US community. Mats H
I envy you a lot for this and it's impossible to not see your smile the entire time you talk about this decision - so that leaves no doubt in my mind, that you are doing the right thing! I wish you all the best and hopefully will be able to visit Eisei-en Kyoto maybe in 2025 :)
Thanks for all the stuff you have brought to us via RUclips. Wish you all the best in Japan fro you and your family in the first place. But then also all the best for new nursery and bonsai trees which I'm looking forward to see. Cheers!
Good luck Bjorn, to you and your family. Hope it all works out well for you. I've been watching your videos all the way back when you were doing your apprenticeship, kind of full circle back to Japan and now you are Bonsai master. Will look forward to watching the videos. Am subscribed to Eisei-En so I'll see your new venture and how it grows. Good luck!
Best of luck to you and your family on your new journey! I wish i got the opportunity to meet and learn from you in person but now it’ll just have to be from Bonsai-U. Happy for you and praying for much success.
Awesome! Good for you...I would never consider the grueling internship in a Japanese studio, but the opportunity to come study with you in Kyoto would be great... Let us know when we can look forward to it.
You need to do with whats best for you and your family Bjorn. Of course you will be missed in North America. Live your dreams. Thanks for the zooms during covid and your personal contact over the last few years👍👍👍😎
Congratulations and best wishes in this next step! I am glad I got to visit your nursery twice and was able to meet and visit with you. Please keep up the videos!
I'm really happy to hear that you and your family are moving to Japan, the previous seasons of your channel were amazing, I personally enjoyed the series "Bonsai art from Japan" and all the folks on the nursery were really great people to learn with. I'll be waiting for the new adventures of Eisei-en, in Kyoto. I really love to see some collaborations with other RUclipsrs in Japan, there are a lot with amazing quality too. All the best for this new episode of your family jorney!
I will continue to follow your fantastic work through digital platforms.
Take care! :)
That came out of the blue for me! Sounds like the right thing to do though. First of all, I can’t believe the courage you have, leaving everything you built for the last 5 years behind.
That being said, you’re family comes first.
Since I am European it’s funny to me how you had to tread lightly around the subject of the US education system. As far as the public school system goes, most major economies have a far better overall education (not hating, you all know what it is). Makes complete sense to me to move for that reason.
I also think bringing in the Japanese professionals for Bonsai-U is a genius move.
All the best, I’m excited for what’s coming! ✌🏻
Goodluck! Can't wait to see Japan!
Change is good. Hopefully you organize tours for Westerners in Japan
Life is a journey, just be safe. Where you go, I will follow. Always enjoy your content.
Wish you all the best!!
I wish you the best of luck. From my point of view, it's the best call. A niche like bonsai is only going to get smaller outside Asia. Good luck. Can't wait to see videos from Japan.
sounds like an amazing adventure and I'm excited about the upcoming bonsai-u videos!
Nooooo!! Haha Man, I REALLY wanted to make it up to your garden! I'm in Louisiana, I grow bonsai from seeding as well as yamadori, and I have really looked up to you, thank you! And I totally agree with you raising your Daughter in a country with FAMILY VALUES!! Good luck!
Bonsai Community wishes you all the best

Great decision, sell all your trees, start new! Try to get out of the bubble of your admirers, get as much critical feedback as possible. Do not only focus on teaching others, focus more on teaching yourself. Delve deeper into caligraphy and ink painting. Spend as much time as possible in japanese gardens, monasteries and nature. I admire all what you have achieved, but feel that your journey is at its beginning. Glad to see it is going in the right direction.
Looking forward to you and your channel's future in Japan Bjorn! Best wishes to your family, i know you can pull this off 🎉
CONGRATULATIONS Bjorn - I'm very happy for you and your family - I hope to go and visit you in Kyoto in the future :)

Thanks Bjorn for the inspiration and all that you gave here in the US. Best of luck on your new journey!
Fantastic news - I can’t wait to visit your new nursery and see your family flourish ❤
