Is it just me, but I always think of these hair dye clips as animated loading screens, the kind of loading screens we see in most modern video games? They show us what the character is doing while loading, right before we enter the game world.
I get that feeling when I saw the third haird dye sequence. I believe this is their intention. It's cute, it has that loading screen feel, and it saves them money to reuse it over and over again.

They really improved Ramona as a character in this show. One of the the best things about the show was that they developed Ramona better than in the books and movie.
