- The first ending to The Talos Principle 2 after awakening and freeing Athena (the Founder) from the Olympus megastructure and overtaking her role as the propagator for the post-Humans. Obtaining knowledge of the Theory of Everything and wielding the Flame of Creation to expand outward to rebuild what was lost and prepare for the colonization of systems beyond Earth.
These alternate cutscenes are what play out if you manage to complete every Gold Puzzle and turn in all the Stars to the Spinx temple near the Megastructure, and thereafter freeing Miranda and revive her from the dead with the help of Cornelius. I ended up having Rand be the mayor which results in a different speech. Getting Miranda unlocked also shows Yaqut getting his dream to finally seeing her and asking her out. And I believe the post-credit scene happens if you collect all of Trevor's audio logs.
Athena's dreamt creations of all the towers and puzzles from the game are erased and New Jerusalem is cast aside to forge new cities wherever they please.
Is this a good future to have the power of gods at your disposal and be able to go where and when at any convienice? Spread out and build upon other worlds without them getting a chance to create their own ecosystems and animals by themselves? This is one of the 3 choices you must decide if it's morally right.
End credits song is called Survive, performed by Julie Elven.
Byron reciting Ulysses was such an amazing moment for me, after finishing both games I feel like Leap of Faith is my canon ending for Talos Principle. It really encapsulates the feeling we get as humans when we look up at the stars and wonder what lies beyond and what our purpose is. One of my other favorite moments was when Miranda talked about migratory birds and humans. Perhaps our purpose is to spread life much like how birds spread life to islands that form in the ocean. Imagine earth without life or rather the universe without life. As Athena put it, it would be a cold dark machine, but with life it becomes beautiful. Whenever I feel down I think about what Athena said, "Isn't the universe much better with you in it?"
I wish more people would play this amazing game, it is definitely one of my favorites of all time and it's a work of great art.
It's so good. This ending is so perfect.
I squealed with joy watching Yaqut asking Miranda on a date! I just ... AAAAAAAAAAH!! This game is fucking amazing.
Here we witness rare footage of a fish actually doing a Let's Play
2:56 I feel Prometheus is breaking the 4th wall a bit here, as in, the game is over and all the characters, terrain and puzzles vanish into thin air as they are being unloaded from the RAM and video memory of your gaming device. But the moral of the story transcends into the real world
It also feels very similar to the true ending of the first game
Hadn't thought of this. Like this take a lot.
He does, as Prospero does in The Tempest by Shakespeare at the time of his daughter's wedding. His daughter is named... Miranda.
@@themetroidprimethere are so many references and allusions to the Tempest in this I was mad I did recognize Miranda until this monologue
WTF I didn't get any post credits scene
Gotta find all the Trevor logs for that one
I don't understand why they put the music of the cloud-chasing minigame as the music of grandiose revelation of the Theory of Everything. It's totally out of place and first made me think the devs wanted me to know I made the wrong choice and were like: you're a clown and here's clown music for you.
There are literally kids laughing in thay track.
Also, this is not a 100% ending. With actual 100%, you have a bunch of hologram robots walking with you as Byron speaks.
Now, the implications of the theory of everything are interesting with regards to the question of the first game. It enables the protagonists to, well, make literally any body they want for thelselves including... organic human bodies, undistinguishable from their ancestors, byt with immunity to the virus that killed them all.
I think they made the choice because the Prometheus sparks are supposed to represent the Flame of Enlightenment itself, but I agree the music ended up being tonally bizarre.
@@twhittygames I understand putting Prometheus' music there, but they really should have made a variation of it that doesn't feel like 1k is being mind-blown by minigame...
By the way, I didn't 100% the game but still had hologram robots walking with me for some reason
@@dominikrni You chose to share your findings about morals to everyone.
THAT TRACK WAS LITERALLY THE BEST PART OF THE ENDING WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT LOL
