Thanks now have 3 shifting . Good video. Although I did put pawl on the leaver upside down first attemp . Watched the video again and sussed it straight away. Now am I man enough to try the 7. Thanks man .
Lol it’s the same procedure, these are fairly easy compared to road shifter’s . I’m going to be uploading a better versions of these shifters in the next few weeks.you’ll manage!
The hex Bolt on the underside broke immediately while opening the casing. Are there off the shelf replacements available (or any ideas for replacement)? Any ideas to avoid the bolt breaking during opening? The bolt is secured quite firmly with loctite. As far as I can see the bolt and special nut are necessary to fix the mechanism against the carrier and to hold the spigot disc moving the indicator.
Hello, sounds like the bolt was corroded and snapped off. Happened to me before. Don’t see how you could avoid it. Loctite keeps the bolt in place and prevents water penetration. If the bolt is corroded, it will break from force. Cheapest alternative will be a Alivio MC12. Unless you have some kind of bike recyclery around you, where you could potentially find spare parts.
@@atboy4342 Thanks for your response! I acquired a MC12 with broken casing but intact and clean mechanics, so going strong again. Even thought about making a drawing and having a spare part machined ;-)
And now that I think, would like some more modern Shimano derailleurs to open up. By sachs, you mean pre 90s? I.e sachs hurt period. ? All thats worth that I can think of otherwise in the 90’s is New success and the lovely 7 speed Aris group
Amazing work! Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to share your skills / knowledge with others.
thanks for the nice comment

Do you also do old sachs/sram shifters, derailleurs? Would be apreciated.
Yeh I’ve already done some, depends what direction the wind comes

@@atboy4342 yeah, exactly, pre 90's, but also after the 90's ,f.e. the Centera model derailleur of Sachs
