I’m in Canada. Before the first frost I dig up all my peppers and hibernate them in my shop (4-8deg C) for the winter. I bring them inside about February to bring them back to life for planting in the spring. This gives them a HUGE head start.
Jack Karr thanks for watching! Hope it helped give a good description of the pepper. Patience is key with these. They take FOREVER to ripen, but the wait is well worth it.
Thank you for this really informative review. I’m growing these for the first time this year. You’re so right about the growing time. Started my seeds (from Baker Creek) March 23rd. Just now setting fruit (July 24th).I was intrigued as it was described as not too hot with overtones of sweet tropical flavors. I’m always intrigued by the Scoville ratings…I’ve seen everything from 5,000 to 80,000(?) for this pepper. A few people described it as waaay hot. Your review was so well described & in depth. Thank you again. Very anxious for mine to (finally) ripen. That was a good idea….eating them fresh & dipping them in hummus. Sounded really good.😋
Hey these look awesome and seems they grow pretty quickly. I have also had a lot of great luck with Hot Thai Peppers and Cayenne or Cowbell Cayenne, they tend to grow rather quickly. Not too hot and tasty peppers.
I’ve never been a garden man but I started with sugar peach and white habanero plants. They’re both starting have flowers that open up and don’t fall off. Is that a good sign 😂
@@smangosmooly9538 yes the sugar rush gave me about 40 peppers year 1 white habanero at least 100 and this year my aji ayuyo gave about 60 plus my chocolate habanero has about 25 on it this year but my ghost pepper only has given this year about 5
@@smangosmooly9538 I also threw a bunch of seeds in a vase and got like 5 sugar rush plants that grew out of nowhere and gave between 10-20 peppers so far
That is one tasty pepper! They do take a very long time to ripen. Great video, George!
Happy Pepper thanks David!
Look awesome dude. Well done with the lovely plant!
GTF4life thanks so much!

Did you top the pepper plant at any time or just let it do its thing?
Nice review :-)
Thanks bro!
Will I need a tomato cage or something similar for the sugar rush peach pepper plant?? I will be growing this variety for the first time this year
Depending on how stable your plant becomes. However, it is always good insurance to stake or cage your peppers just in case!
I'm try to grow some for Thai papaya salad. Any good vendors you like to recommend?
I have this peper. What is the brown circle on the peper is that a disease

Nice
6 months for the pepper itself to grow is insane. What your location?
do you have any of these pods for sale??? ive been dying to try these!!!
No pods this year but I have seeds!
Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds sells these seeds and many other fabulous seed varieties that you just won't find anywhere else!
What grow zone are you in?
Also killer on tacos!
Krigloch theFurious for sure! Such a versatile pepper. Wish they grew to be a little larger and use them like Chile rellenos! 🤤
3 months to peppers and 3 more to ripen?! Dang. Guess I’m dumb to just start soaking seed on May 1st. Maybe I can ripen by mid October! 😂
They do take forever to ripen.
William Beckham I should have picked the riper ones earlier to allow for more even ripening.
