3 students arrested after fights break out at Abington Senior High School

Three students were arrested Friday afternoon after two separate fights broke out at Abington Senior High School in Montgomery County.
The call came in around 1:23 p.m. for five students involved in two separate physical altercations in different areas of the school located on Highland Avenue.
Police say two of the involved students became physical with an officer and school staff, and that's what prompted a larger emergency response.

I would like to mention that the announcements during class were very vague about the situation occuring (I am unsure if they did or did not posses the information of what was happening) however, it led to a lot of unnecessary panic amongst some of us since all we had heard was: "Teachers, do not send students to go to the bathroom" & "If you see students in the hallways, bring them into your classroom and lock the doors." Yet we never went into a full lockdown.

See it starts off with someone bringing a pocket knife to school but what they’re not realizing is that the next time someone could have a gun. My school is not safe anymore. I can’t take it anymore. I was scared because I could’ve been one of the kids who got hurt. Violence is not a joke because a stab can turn into someone getting shot

You have no idea what goes on it that school. As a student that goes there. Yes it is sad but just bc a certain group of people act out doesn’t mean the whole school has to get punished or shamed

Agreed. My granddaughter graduated from Abington Senior High in 2017. It's an excellent school.

When my granddaughter attended AJH, students would argue but didn't fight much. It is disheartening to hear that the students are having increased altercations.

My family was the one who reported this to this news I'm genuinely sad as abington is a good school with good qualities for students to use but sadly it's the student at the school who ruin it the teacher s were also great to bad im leaving of this issue
