I figure that's why you guys record your work. So you can either remember what you were doing, or prove your sanity when something is not there during re-assembly :-)
There are a few types of those wax gauges , all work the same and the one i last used was ( i think ) plastigauge . Same stuff as the acl but i believe U.S made .
G Day Dave, Yes Sparex have a 0.0075" oversize thrust available but none in Australia and Quality Tractor Parts in Ireland have a set of 0.007" genuine Perkins available and as I have a QTP order going in I will order some 0.007" oversize ones. 0.007 seems an odd size like I thought 0.005" may be but the 0.007 will put me right at the low end so ideal really.
Hi lace. I notice your main crank cap bolts had no lock tabs to begin with but you added some after. Do these need to be added or was it an after thought you had. Also does the bolt torque remain the same when their added. Reason I ask is my engine hasn’t got tab washers but I am wondering if I should add them. Great work as usual lance.
Nicely done Lance. I'm catching upon some early vids l missed. Have never removed liners or used rope gaskets so really valuable info. Thanks :)
Great videos lance
Very clear and a pleasure to watch
Glad you like them!
Hi Lance - more great work, you certainly make these videos a treat to follow!
Thanks Charles, Glad you enjoy them.
G'day Lance. Things disappear when I work on them also. I bet the last guy had my kind of luck.

Well it certainly helps, I do look back to check things at times.
Looking forward to hearing that Perkins engine breath again.
It will be a while but it will go for sure.
Looking good Lance, by the way, my wife is in Australia somewhere on a holiday for three weeks, I should have gone with her.
Yeah you should have and come to Bundy for a look.

Yes mine is ACL
The wear on the thrust washer surfaces would be due to the pressure from disengaging the clutch I suppose?
Yes I would imagine so and when you start your tractor with your foot on the clutch before it has built up oil pressure.
Ive tinned the backside of thrust bearings to adjust the gap
ok not seen that before.
Are oversize thrust bearings available if a person wanted to decrease the end play?

I think they should have had them but the tension stays the same. The tension is worked out on bolt stretch I believe.
@@BundyBearsShed Thanks for the response . I might add them while I am at it so.
Ciao Lance, I missed your explanation about how I can recognize which type of seals the crankshaft has by looking at the engine serial nr...
Usually if the engine number has an L at the end it is a lip seal.
@@BundyBearsShed thanks Lance! Mine ends up with e so which kind of gasket is there?
Do you know if a crankshaft on a gas Massey Ferguson 135 fit in a diesel Massey Ferguson 135 tractor
No it wont.
Thank you
