BTW - *I loooove* how EASY it is to add (and edit) a font on the XenoPixel V3 using a PC !!!! + the recent new fancy app version kinda sucks, I miss the previous one as shown here in this video.
Nice review of this saber and the Xeno3, but you missed a lot of what the Xeno3 and the Xeno configurator app can do. As someone has said in a previous comment, the issue with the saber saying broken ignition repeatedly is due to some blade modes being switched off by default, and has nothing to do with firmware updates you applied. Velocity mode, torch mode, ghost mode, and blaster mode are all turned off in the config by default. Once these are turned on they are mentioned instead of the saber saying broken ignition to fill their empty slots at the beginning of the blade style cycle. The firmware update you applied may have updated their status in the config to on which then corrects the issue, or you may simply have cycled far enough through to get to the active blade styles. This issue has been reported to the developers (Nexus and Dark Wolf Sabers) and I understand it will be addressed in future updates. When you continue to hold the button past the point the saber goes into deep sleep it will toggle between Pixel and RGB modes so that a pixel saber can be used with the new RGB adapter that Nexus and Dark wolf have released. This adapter allows a pixel saber to use base lit blades if so desired. Deep sleep occurs at 10 seconds of holding the button down (adjustable down to 6 seconds in the app or config file) and the pixel/RGB toggle will occur at 13 seconds of holding the button. There are also 4 more blade/light effects which you have not shown or mentioned. They are melt, lightning block, multi block and multi lock. Melt is active by default, but the other three also need to be turned on in the config. You really should try these modes and review them as they are very cool new features of the Xeno3 pixel and really lift the capabilities of the board as much as accent swings do. You can find out how to trigger these new effects by checking out the operating instructions for the Xeno3 on the Dark Wolf Sabers Xeno3 support pages (don't forget that you will need to activate Lightning block, multi block and multi lock in the config before they will work). This is the first place to look for the latest info on Nexus boards and there is usually lots of other info and the latest updates for the Xeno3 to be found on this page, but I think it is currently being updated which may mean new things are coming very soon:darkwolfsabers.com/xeno3-pixel-a-rgb-support My understanding is that the music tracks have been removed due to copyright/royalty issues which Nexus (they are no longer called LGT) have encountered previously. It is sad that this had to be done but it's not the end of the world as it is relatively easy to add music tracks if desired and many third party font packages come with them anyway. It is also nice to see that Nexus have released functional BlueTooth apps for Android and iOS at the same time, with identical features in both apps, and not some features available in Android but not in iOS. You also didn't show that blade length, blade brightness and motion controls can be adjusted in the app.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'll go over the functions I missed in Part 2 of this Xeno V3 before I delve into the microSD side of the saber. I do realize I didn't go over everything in the Bluetooth app as I will have a dedicated video for that. I just wanted to touch on a few of the things Bluetooth can do and show what the app looks like.
@@thefrugaljedi That's great. I missed these new functions too when I did my first look at the Xeno3 a month or so ago, so I posted a separate video on the new blade/light effects 3 weeks or so ago showing the new effects and how to use them because so many reviews are missing them and they really do add some fantastic functionality when you know about them. In addition to the effects I mentioned previously there is also a new stab blade effect and the lock up effect is now dynamic rather than the static version that was on the Xenopixel V2. My video shows all this if you would be interested in taking a look:ruclips.net/video/lFdJO9yL8aQ/видео.html
@@thefrugaljedi The only thing I can think of to check is that the sound fonts have files named beginmelt (1).wav, melt (1).wav, and endmelt (1).wav as these are the sound files associated with the melt function. If that is all OK I would contact the vendor that you bought the saber from for further information on why this is not working as it should. I now have 12 Xeno3 pixel equipped sabers and all work as expected with all features with both the stock fonts they came with and third party fonts I have added. So if the files are all there and correct I don't know why yours would be acting differently.
I'm going to be making a video comparing the three in the future. Being that the Xeno V3 bluetooth app is incomplete, I'm going to wait a bit. The amount of customization on the SN-Pixel/H-Pixel bluetooth app is insane. If only they could support accent swings. Maybe a future update will make that possible.
How does the LGT neopixel blade compare to the TXQ one? I ask this because i bought Xenopixel3 core to swap into my SNv4 hilt just because I really wanted accent swings. I have been using the TXQ blade that originally came with it. I'm looking at getting another blade but I'm deciding between the TXQ or LGT. The LGT is quite a bit more expensive than the TXQ one. Do you find it justifies the higher price?
They are both very close to eachother. Slightly different colour temperature between the two. TXQ is a cooler white with a very faint blueish tinge while LGT produces a more pure white. I'll let you decide if it's worth the extra money for LGT or not.
Silly question Frugal, but I received one of the cheap little display stands that comes with some sabers and for the life of me I can't figure out how the thing stands up.
Xenopixel V3 has better swinging effects while H-pixel has better customization using the Bluetooth app. Xeno also has better support through firmware updates. I'd personally choose Xenopixel V3 over h-pixel if the price is the same
I bought a xeno3 pixel from lgtsaber store recently (150 cad shipped by dhl during a sale with some coupons) it didnt mention that it was v3 so I messaged the seller and they said they could do either so I asked for v3. Oddly my sound board doesn't look the same as pictured/in the video (the sd card is right at the bottom of the board instead of having additional chips below it) so I was worried it was v2, but it connects to the app and has all the features I expected so seems to be v3. I got the same style series as you reviewed earlier (the black and copper from punksaber) Unfortunately it came with a set of screws and allen keys but they were all much bigger than the screws used to secure the blade. I fortunately had a 1.5mm allen key already but it wasnt a snug fit in the screw so I cant get the blade really secure. The seller is sending me a new set of screws and allen keys but I had to pay 1.50 CAD to authorize the shipment. Hopefully I'll get that soon so I can really get the blade secure. Edit: I actually bought my from LGT Saber Store which I guess is different from LGTSaber Store. This is trash. They buy cores from Damiansaber which has an easy break SD card bracket that you can see in this video and many issues with easily corrupted SD cards. If you don't have issues with the SD card 1st because it stops recognizing it after you try to add some personality to the dry soundfonts it brings, then very quickly no matter how careful you are the flimsy bracket will break and you will have wasted your money. Until they get an SD holder that doesn't break or bring out the one they are trying to create with no SD card don't risk wasting your money. The are many other excellent options out there with the SNPV4 Pixel leading the way with a SD card bracket tha doesn't break. May the Force be with You!
I wish they stuck with the older style of board where you just pull out the SD card. I've had to fix a spring on a newer xeno v2 and it's a pain! Maybe they'll go back to the older design. The best design I've seen for microSD are the h-pixel boards.
They are a good company but a little common sence goes a long way. If they fixed the 2 issues specially the sd card bracket and if possible the SD card corruption issue it would be amazing. I don't pull out the battery out of my SNPV4s and I've never had a corrupted SD card. I have 10 of them right now and have not had a single problem with all the programing I've done.
Hi. İ'm huge fan of your reviews. would you please share your advice and opinion that which lightsaber is better; Hanling H-pixel or this LGT saber? İ will order one of them after your feedback 🙏😊
That's a really tough choice. They're both really good! If you're interested in programming and creating your own blade styles - H Pixel. Xeno V3 can do accent swings which gives it an edge in regards to swinging it. You can't create effects yet but that feature is in development. And don't forget sn-pixel v4 from TXQ. It's almost identical to h-pixel. From a price point, H-pixel costs the least, then sn-pixel v4 then XENO. It's going to come down to price and design. Each company has their own unique hilt designs.

@@thefrugaljediİ appreciate your prompt reply. You are great! İ am not interested in programming and also İ haven't skill/knowledge for that. On the other hand technical potential of the saber is impressing me. İt hard to choice, İ guess best decision is buying all of them :) İ actually wonder that which lightsaber "feels you good and more satisfied"?
@@basarbaypinar4098 Are you leaning towards two buttons or a single button design?
@@thefrugaljediDear master, the number of buttons is not critical issue for me. You have already reviewed all of my favorite lightsabers and İ watched all of them excitedly. our taste of lightsaber is almost same. So your opinions is so precious for me. Bluetooth control, sofisticated light and sound effects and beautiful hilt design are most important issues for me.
Sorry I didn't see this reply sooner. The one saber that I love is the Judger. It's from TXQ. It checks all the boxes
i got mine from damiensaber
