Ask God to help you appropriate His grace, learning you need no resource but Him. When you are weakest, His grace is strongest-for He Himself is our strength. Do not despise your weakness, for it leads you to trust in God’s strength. Henry Blackaby
Musicians back then were only good in certain keys ab, c, c#, and eb if you were lucky. The only difference now is that musicians have the transpose key.
Jeremy Thomas- I wondered the same question. Lesson to learn from this; If you (the musician) know that you can’t play in the key that the preacher is in, humble yourself and let someone else play. Don’t try to make the preacher change keys. You see it didn’t work here. He stayed in his original key even though the pianist didn’t accompany him. And that’s what I was taught that we were supposed to do. Accompany the preacher/singer. Not lead them. If you’re the only keyboard player, maybe try to get with the preacher before they preach so they’ll know that you can’t play in all of the keys. The constant wrong key playing will throw the preacher off.
