    I have install this kit and it was make some noise in the front because the coil hit the cab when i hit hole. So to correct this i have put some 7/8 inch spacer to drop the front and rear subframe and i also replace the rear coil with something heavy because i have a custom tire carrier. Now i have 35 inch on the fender at 4 wheel. I have 225/75R16 and i think to switch to 245/75R16.

    I have a 2014 I’m thinking about doing this to. I’ve already put 225/65/17 tires on it which gave it a one inch lift as the stock tires are only 225/60/17.

    Now I need to know if you got bigger tires.

      The answer is yes. The jeep belongs to a coworker that was very happy and did go up I believe from 27- 29 inches. Since tires are not true to size ended at about 28 and change. I would ask him but he no longer works with me. He did align Jeep as per instructions after install .He was happy with it and no issues when he quit a while back

      Honestly not sure but lift is from rocky road.com and I am sure their website would be helpful in determining what kit would work with yours.

    U never showed installing the spacers???

    • @thehickspanic8646
      @thehickspanic8646  11 месяцев назад

      Sorry, ran into video issues with that part. If you see section 5:50 or so it’s as simple as lowering the lower control arm bar (after disconnecting hardware attached to that lower bar) to remove strut and as shown on 5:30 or so bolt spacer on. Then simply reverse of removal. You place strut on lower bar section,where it was before, and use jack to raise bar and strut slowly back up while lining up the bolts on top of spacer. Hope that helps.

    So the axel wasn't causing the noise it was the L bracket? What is the L bracket, is that was the brake lines are connected to?

    • @thehickspanic8646
      @thehickspanic8646  Год назад +1

      Yes. One of them the bolt was over tightened and had stripped. So bolt looked tight but no longer had a good grip and was just loose enough it allowed that bracket to move and rattle. So don’t use hulk power like my friend did haha. Just tighten down but don’t put all your night into it or you could strip bolt. We had to cut it off and use another bolt

      @@thehickspanic8646 Guessin’ maybe just 15-20 ftlbs torque for the brake line L-bracket?

    Did your struts rub against the frame? Mine did and it’s been making an atrocious noise. Not sure how to fix this

    • @thehickspanic8646
      @thehickspanic8646  Год назад

      No it did not , you got me wondering what went wrong with yours. Have you talked to maker of lift? I would have it rechecked by a shop , preferably an off road specialist type shop. I know the point is to save money by diy but I have had experiences in past where I threw in the towel and asked for professional help lol . You do t want anything rubbing that could eventually cause failure of a suspension component. Let me know what you end up doing and what the problem and fix are? I would love to know and who knows we might help someone else with same problem

      Been thinking it is possible your camber is waay off after messing with lift, did you have it aligned after? Also could be a bent spindle or even strut(not likely) bent or defective. Is there any play in wheel? Bad bearing allowing play?

      @@thehickspanic8646 thanks for your input! I really appreciate it!
      I haven’t had it aligned yet because we installed the lift yesterday. I think I might know what the issue is, along with installing the lift, we had installed new struts. It looks like the diameter of the Coil part of the strut is wider than the oem ones, we’re going to put the old ones back on today and see if that’s the issue. I appreciate your help, will keep you updated

    Aye what's the biggest tire size I can go up to with the lift?

    • @thehickspanic8646
      @thehickspanic8646  8 месяцев назад

      I believe 235/65/17 is size recommended with that lift. That is aprox 29 inch tire. The largest stock tire with no lift, I believe is about 27.4 inches . Of course , tires are all different from brand to brand and even type like all terrain vs mud terrain . Not all 29 inch truly measure 29. Hope that helps. Local tire shop in your area could also work with ya making sure you don’t rub.
