Bro your set up is amazing .. I have been programming drums on a keyboard but a whole electric kit is fancy 👏 …also huge fan of Kiesel guitars …very cool channel happy I found you
The modern scale length/fret width was designed around a wound G string, so the tension will always be slightly incorrect with an unwound G. That's why nobody has been able to produce a guitar without that issue, aside from a floating bridge of some sort.
I’ve only started dabbling into recording riffs/music in recent months. That said, my inexperienced ears really can’t tell much of a difference in tone between Eurobass3, Djinnbass and Nocturnal bass 🤷🏻♂️
It’s really in the bass that they were modeled after. Each one is different and can be used in different contexts. Djinn is more geared towards djent, Euro is good for big modern metal soundscapes and Nocturnal is a catch all
Try this video, which goes through 3 of the Submission Audio bass VSTs: ruclips.net/video/is3m6gfEnTg/видео.htmlsi=laauEsDZu1Ja15Bj And then watch: ruclips.net/video/nShjyJHyavU/видео.htmlsi=_D5x8FSNjVdFzMy3 , which goes over NocturnalBass. It really boils down to which is going to fit what you're doing. For me, UmanskyBass was perfect. But you need to hear them to do a proper comparison, in my opinion.
I'm using Reaper and, in the MIDI editor, there isn't a dropdown to change note articulation like Nick is using here in Logic. Does anyone here know how to add/change this?
One thing I appreciate with submission audio is that they don't release one product after another that's drastically better, they're each a different flavor that would best be suited somewhere but all still good. I bought eurobass 3 like a month before djinn 2 came out I haven't felt left out at all eurobass 3 is just such a monster that it does everything I need just fine.
Bass sounded good. Thoughts on the Onnibass pack? I really like how punchy EBMM stuff is. Have you ever considered doing a TRT where a subscriber sends in just a riff and you build something around it? That would be a cool tweak on what is now easily my fav series on YT. Cheers
Hey! One trick I use when I record and my G string is wanting to go flat is tuning, bending the string 1.5 step at the 5th fret, retune and doing that until it stays in tune! It's a trick I got from a Phil McKnight's video and it works! Hope this helps
Hey Nick! First of all, Love your channel! I don't think I've missed a single thick riff Thursday since I've stumbled upon your channel. Every song is a banger but this one was insane. I love the atmospheric intro leading into the hook riff with the glitching guitars, had me doing the stank face😂 Would love if you could have a song like this fully finished for a "VOCAL CONTEST" . I would definitely sign up for that!! Let me know if you dig this idea! Keep riffing bro, Cheers!
I might be lying to myself but that riff really reminds me of Bleed from Within. They have loads of really great riffs to learn. Sylosis is another great band with super fun riffs to play
i got their euro bass 2 for christmas, it sounds ok but really you have to add effects and do a lot more dynamic mixing to get it sounding believable and good. whereas id imagine the more expensive ones like omni bass are probably better out of the box, idk
bonkers episode--love it! nocturnal bass sounds dope. Have you tried Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) yet nick? Would love to see a video of you using it for a TRT.
Just curious but you ever play around with tunings in different Hz? Like drop C in 432Hz, sounds slightly different but I personally think it sounds cool. Be cool to see you try it out. Awesome riffs and vids as always!
So I think 432hz Drop C sounds a bit darker and not as good for metalcore stuff but I like it across the board for Drop D. Be cool to see what other people think.
John Browne called, he wants his riffs back. So good, man. Love this series so much.
Bro your set up is amazing .. I have been programming drums on a keyboard but a whole electric kit is fancy 👏 …also huge fan of Kiesel guitars …very cool channel happy I found you
Bro you are incredibly talented
Evertune figured out the G string hahaha

My favorite channel/series on YT right now. Nick, thank you sir.
Another fantastic Thicccc Riff Thursday!
Please turn this into a whole song 🤩🤩

Agreed but they all sound good ..just started using Djinn Bass 2 and it’s been great

@@SamBrockmann thanks all, like I said I’m knew to this. It’s quite intimidating to get started 😂
@@Jt7166 , no, I understand. Glad to help!
That first riff reminds me of Texas In July its pissed as hell I fucking love it
The articulated drums on the 2nd part of the riff is the sickness.
Ur shit just keeps getting better and better
dope
Damn, another absolute triumph!

The Nolly bass is perfect for me
Those string skipping bits are insane!!!!
Niiiice. Looking forward to seeing how you produce a Metalcore chorus next...!

0:36 I guarantee that’s exactly what Nik was going for lmao
Now that. Was definitely a Thick Riff. Great video as always Nick.
awesome!!

After that last riff it left me hanging for a huge drop... And now I'm so triggered that I don't know how this song resolves 🤣🤣
sounds so sick bro...
This is such an epic headbanger 🤘
Sick riff, sick guitar, sick audio. Cheers dude!

MAN this was sooo sick, these riffs really reminds me of black by keyan houshmand, and i absolutely love that song
🔥envy🔥
That riff was very cool
Very good 🔥
Sounds sick, great vid :D
Great stuff as always man, this one rips
Another one that needs to be released haha
Holy smokes 🔥🔥🤘🤘 this is a sick riff
Sounds Like oldschool Polaris for me ❤
Sick riffage!
That riff was a wild ride! Crazy how fast that was.
Dude these riffs are fucking INSANE. are there any songs/solos you’d recommend learning to get better at riffing like that?
I second this request!
I might be lying to myself but that riff really reminds me of Bleed from Within. They have loads of really great riffs to learn. Sylosis is another great band with super fun riffs to play
For the G string, you can try a wound G string and see if that helps. Otherwise, we're all struggling with that problem, haha.
Fuck 😂 damn good
you are everything I aspire to be.
You should point a mic at your strings while you record, you get a really nice percussive sound from the string noise when your mic is hot.
Thiiicccccc
Great!! I would love to see you use the Umansky Bass Library (i have it and it would be cool to see what you could do with 😉)
i got their euro bass 2 for christmas, it sounds ok but really you have to add effects and do a lot more dynamic mixing to get it sounding believable and good. whereas id imagine the more expensive ones like omni bass are probably better out of the box, idk
Bro decided to channel his inner John Browne today huh
bonkers episode--love it! nocturnal bass sounds dope. Have you tried Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) yet nick? Would love to see a video of you using it for a TRT.
have you tried a wound G? i have fewer issues after switching plus it feel more natural for down tuning.
Awesome content! Love the TRT series. How does this bass library compare to the Nolly bass?
what are you using to get that guitar tone, Bro that tone is sick !!! I want that tone < i need that tone lol
Have you gone over your mastering chain in a video yet?
Tabs please?
Are you using an archetype Nolly preset for that riif? And if so which one?
Sick! What do you like to run in Virtual Mix Rack on the master?
I wouldn't want to have to play that riff like that on bass, ouch
The G string issue? Evertune lol
Sounds the exact same as every other submission bass library, which sounds good by the way, it's a monoculture of tones
Just curious but you ever play around with tunings in different Hz? Like drop C in 432Hz, sounds slightly different but I personally think it sounds cool. Be cool to see you try it out. Awesome riffs and vids as always!

Yo have you ever tried a wound third string? It helps me keep it in tune. I play in c# standard
That's one of the sickest riffs I ever hard and I don't even like the genre...
You got the sorta talent that makes me want to quit : D
I think evertune has pretty much figured out the G string issue
Your mom figured out the G string issue years ago
Does this track the bass from midi like EX Bass?
Adam D. would be proud
listens to monuments once ^^
more hedwigs theme
What vid is this
What drum kit is that?
What drum software do you use?
Getgood Drums. I think he's mostly using the new P5 kit now.
@@crewd00d thanks dude

Bro isnt even going to shout out the crab man??
Record yourself opening a can than use it in a mix
Охренеть, вот это риф за час, наверно)
ur gross dude. Ive been wanting to pick up this plugin lol
Use a wounded G string and your problems are all solved
I second this.
Wound G string instead of plain steel solved my tuning issues 👍
