What is the effect of replacing the ring 'methyl group' of Alprazolam by 'H atom' ?

It's decreased its effect in comparison to alprazolam. Alprazolam is given to treat anxiety disorders while with hydrogen in place of methyl is Estazolam which is mainly used for insomnia
