Literally one of my favorite sagas in the Z series. I hate to make this comparison but I've said it for years. But this is similar to an addicts mind set. Getting off a habit or way of life, being clean, and getting a taste and remembering how much it influenced or controlled your life. As for the lore, Vegeta's mindset here stems hard from Goku defeating Frieza. Vegeta had it his destiny to destroy Frieza himself for killing the Saiyan race. Goku, Vegeta, Nappa and Raditz were the only ones left. Vegeta took it personally seeing how Gohan singlehandedly defeated Cell only being a halfblood Saiyan.
As evil as Vegeta was seeing him sacrifice himself was truly emotional. I hated watching episodes building up just to end and having to wait until the next episode. The thing about this fight is, Goku did the whole thing basically for fun, because he had already unlocked Super Saiyan 3. He could have ended this fight in seconds if he had taken it seriously. You can even tell during the fight that Goku isn't fully taking it seriously from his internal monologue. Vegeta wants to destroy Goku, Goku is just like "he's got great moves!". I think Gohan and Trunks surpassing him in the Cell saga is what was part of the final straw. Not so much Trunks as he’s apart of his own royal bloodline and is his own son. But Gohan passing him in the Cell saga just to not do more with his potential and be weak enough were Dabura looked so powerful was bs to him and understandably so. Vegeta worked crazy hard to get that power, he was told he wasnt good enough to be a super saiyan because you have to have a pure heart. Then that was power wasn’t good enough for the Androids then Cell. And Goku and his son just kept passing him up. And even in this fight Goku refused to go SS3 so his rage was totally justified
@ True but in terms of power level Trunks did pass him that form. Remember he wasn’t trying to power up like that until Vegeta got Knocked. Krillin was watching in shock and Trunks knew it would crush his dads ego.

CLASSIC THEME SONG. BEST FIGHT EVER
32:32 what a line.....
In the name of Jesus may all who love DragonBall be blessed and loved hard as SSJ vs FRIEZAAAA AHHH ✝️✝️✝️🫶🫶
Amen
Whats scary is Goku actually held back this whole fight
The best fight in dragon ball anything of all time
I think Gohan and Trunks surpassing him in the Cell saga is what was part of the final straw.
Trunks didn’t actually surpass Vegeta, he just used the bulkier form because he didn’t have the same battle experience to realize it wouldn’t work.
@ True but in terms of power level Trunks did pass him that form. Remember he wasn’t trying to power up like that until Vegeta got Knocked. Krillin was watching in shock and Trunks knew it would crush his dads ego.
I don’t understand how they went ss2 then as soon as they fight, they back in ssj. And gokus halo disappearing lol still one of the best scenes in dbz though
This was in 95 for me in my country.
What a time..

I am 41 now
😢😢😢😢😢
Goku could pull ssj3 but he didn’t
well it uses a lot of energy which he probably wanted to save as much for buu
@@window4722it is also his first time using it on Earth. His transformation took a long time against Fat Buu, of course you can’t exactly attack someone while they are transforming, it doesn’t work, but it would use a lot of energy and perhaps revive Buu faster.
But Goku knows he shouldn’t have sandbagged in the first place, it is why Vegeta was pissed right after having permission to go back to Earth after dying.
@ goku can go ssj3 instantly we see him do it he said that he only took that long transforming against fat buu to stall time for goten and trunks
We all know Goku could of tore Vegeta apart if he wanted to here
Don't say stupidities
Goku could have ended it going SSJ3
could’ve but goku knew vegeta needed this and probably wanted to not give buu so much energy to come back
