At 27:33 - "Did I catch it?" I have the same issue with my G3 gloves...I also find myself checking to make sure I caught the puck. It's a strange feeling at first. You do get used to it though. But, even after 1.5 years of using the glove, I still find myself checking every now and then. Having said that, I love the glove. Lightest and most protective glove I've ever used. Best glove I've ever had...it really does suck everything into the pocket. Great review and comments!!
I picked up a like-new pair of 1s pads at the end of last season. Can't wait to really test them out this year! Like you said, they slide for days! Hahaha, I say the same thing about my r/g4 glove, the thing's a puck MAGNET!
Kudos for taking a bunch of your money and dumping it into other brands just to see if they were right for you... I'm here doing research as I'm considering Warrior g4 and Brian's GNetik IV. Thanks for the content! Decent feedback, besides the test subjects not really being optimally set up for what you would actually be purchasing if you were to be getting a set for yourself.
I tried mitigating the costs as much as possible by buying used and then reselling everything. Of course in the end I still lost money, but like I mentioned in the video, there’s basically no gear down here for me to try. So this was my only option to see how other pads worked for me. As far as the pads you’re considering, from what I gather the Gnetik 4’s are gonna be a little more flexible than the G4’s. If you’re coming from a softer and/or older style pad, the Genetik’s might better suit you.
@@L7spider totally. I get it. Sucks you dont have much of an opportunity to try out the brand's in a way that would actually cater to your style, preferences, but it is what it is... I'm currently in the SZ2, and going custom for my next set: have always leaned towards Brian's but may end up going G4... Gonna take a road trip into the major city close to me and try them both on to help decide!
I think the only unfair part to the warrior review is you tried a brand new set, my warrior GTs are way more flexible than my CCM Eflexs, they just need some breaking in. But other than that he gave a very fair review
Good video. Brian’s Custom Sports or Vaughn Custom Sports can’t go wrong with the quality. I am rocken some V5’s right now, check them out at goaltendingninjas.com. I definitely like the room I have in a wide leg channel also. Sucks that you don’t have any options for demoing new gear down in Florida. Have you tried emailing or calling equipment manufacturers to have pads sent out to demo? It may only cost you some shipping.
Couple things first: 1, I don’t use the “Turco grip” when handling the puck. I use the old school regular method. 2, I’m a pretty average puck handler. With those things being said, I didn’t notice my puck handling being any better or any worse with it. It might matter more if you use the Turco grip, but I can’t speak to that.
Performance wise, they are great. I just can’t justify paying all that money with the quality/durability issues that plague them. They claim that they fixed those issues after the 1S, but I’m still seeing issues with their new stuff.

I never got used to my warrior gloves. I just had to buy myself the CCM 2.9! I am keep my warrior pads thought! 😍

I wear brian's heritage pads . You have to play with the straps . I'm a hybrid goalie. Just ordered another custom set
Warrior is what I'm trying next.
As long as you like that style of pad, I’m guessing you’ll like them.
try ccm Eflex, if you like Vaughn V7 you will like them.

im lookinging into getting GTs. I like a double break but dont want to pay to go custom. How was the flexibility on the thigh rise?
@@grahamemmett8285 I love my GT pads!!! Didnt take long to break in.

How is the warrior gt catcher for puck handling?

@@L7spider my plan is to put custom SLR decals on the all white warrior gt gloves with padskin to match my Vaughn SLRs.
I am a big Bauer fan
