Im sorry but wasn't this some of the BEST video game music EVER!? This had to be on someone's Top 10 video game sound tracks, not to mention this game could still hold up today. I LOVE THIS GAME 😆

Nae it isn't I completed this game easily back in the day when I got down the pattern, now 8 bit computer games like ZX Spectrum and C64 they were near impossible even taken at a snails pace.
Simon Dude...the underwater bomb defuse is the ONLY thing that's etched in my memory about this game. And only because I remember being so frustrated as a kid trying to pass that level. The first time out of many that I threw a controller across the room into the wall. Lol

I won't fault anyone who uses the "Cowabunga Collection's" guide map to find all the bombs though.
It's been years since I saw this game, from the start with all the weapon sounds and music, it all came rushing back. The arcade classic is one thing, but this was my favorite TMNT game growing up. Got goosebumps seeing it again. NOSTALGIA x10!!!!!!!!!!

I was 8 years old when I was playing this game but I was stuck in the underwater level 5:52 I never passed that level but I am impressed with my self on how I managed to go that far at that age

I got battletoads on emulator, slowed it down and still the timing was off and STILL DIED.

I beat this game ONE time as a kid back in 1992. I remember getting it back on New Years Day 1991 and for I don't know how long being stuck on the Technodrome level because I always got lost.

Damn! I've been looking for YEARS to see if anyone else has beaten this game besides me. You sir, made this look WAY easier to beat than it actually is. I can always get to the Technodrome pretty easily, but only beaten that thing once. Once I got inside, I made a mad dash to Shredder, and like you, beat him with Leo while the other three were on the bench at full health. I'll probably never be able to pull that off again. And all this time I thought I was a prodigy or something, and you just made me feel like I didn't accomplish jack-squat! I don't know whether to praise you or hate you.... good show, truly.
I'll never forget I was playing this in Hayward CA when all of the sudden the house started violently shaking, car alarms began going off fish tank flipped over!! What's this I thought ahhhh earth quake 1989 scared the living shit out of me as a kid.

Seriously, awesome. I get the feeling you have played this thousands and thousand times through. I used to play this on C64 but it didnt have all the levels so now i know there is more then those few levels. Absolutely fantastic, keep up the good work and... You have my support.

This is one of the hardest games I've ever played yet you beat it like it was nothing 😳
It's a pretty good example of what a hard video game was/is supposed to be, requiring repetition and memorization skills, as well as timing and accuracy. I still don't understand why it gets such a bad rap.

Not everyone sucked at this game. I watched my brother beat this game without any cheats of any kind. Plus there are speed runners of this game out there who kick the living shit out of this game

Yeah this game was hard I was one of the few kids who actually beat the Dam level back in the day. I ended up quitting by the 3rd level because most of my Turtles would be very low on life. I cant hate on this game because I grew up loving it and still do to this very day.

I have a vague memory that after the super hard part where you had to defuse the underwater bombs, I didn't know what to do. Or maybe I just could never beat that part.
I can't wait for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder's revenge, I'm here watching the old game just remembering how it all started and I'm taking it in, by the way I love the music on this game and the gameplay is relaxing...

The hardest, but best ninja turtle game, period. Never beat it but could make it the last part before Shredder in the final stage. I have to play this on an emulator and beat it before I die.
This game has so much more awesomeness than I even remembered. I never could make it to the part where you saved Splinter! I always either fell off the roof or fell in the water. I always wished I could make it to Shredder! Thanks for Uploading

I was never able to get past the dam in time, as a kid, and on the rare occasion that I did I never knew what to do after that. Thanks for posting this! I finally got to see the ending!

This game was quite difficult at that time. Not only with difficulty, but the navigation system was not popular at that time .
so as a small child i never got pasted the dam because i though those bombs where air tanks. I managed to always miss one.
He beat it just with Leonardo.. That's impressive. It's hard to beat with Leonardo or with Michaelangelo.... 👍👍👍👍👍👍

It's a cool throwback, although there is a lot more to see in this game. I wish you went inside every building and explored the maps a bit more.

I was a huge Ninja Turtles fan as a kid. The programmers did a number making this game so challenging which was WRONG esp that kids were playing this. I rented this game and barely got anywhere. TMNT 2 and 3 were so much better and fun esp with 2 player mode.
the shredder battle was just as corny as the Dracula (or grim reaper) battle in Simons Quest

There is a glitch I had found... Can't recall exactly, but when game starts, pressing some key combo was directly putting me in 2nd stage (Dam)... I found this game to be very non-TMNT though due to the villains (or rather henchmen/robots/bugs whatever). Some of the music still plays in my head at random, even after 20 years! Lol
I don't care what anyone says, I like this game. Honestly, I thought some of the Megaman and Castlevania games were harder.

@EightBitHD Why didn't you use Donatello when you were battling Rocksteady? All you had to do was stay on top of the crates and keep nailing him with your Bo while kneeling down

I had/have a serious love/hate relationship with this game.
It was so good in so many ways that games today are not, but I remember hating that enemies respawned while in the room/level and that there was no two player mode. I also felt that it was just a tad too repetitive sometimes.
This is a game that begs for a remake with just some minor tweaking.
