Oh I want to go so so bad! My mother and grandparents are from Santiago and my mom hasn't gone since the 70's really want to bring her back and I want to see it for the first time❤️
briantravelman hahahahahahahaha what a fucking stupid, that shit that you mentioned, every country of this fucking planet has that kind of problems, so shut up and fuck off, ok? Thanks :) PS: you haven't even visited Chile and you talk shit
briantravelman Flaite qlo resentido, esta claro que el sector oriente es Chile y si mostraran partes bajo plaza italia no habria mucho que ver porque son lugares marginales de ordinarios como tú
This city looks underrated...it is gorgeous. I just saw the picture that there were snow capped mountains like Calgary with the famous Rockies an hour and half drive...Chile will be on the bucket list.
It isn't. I was just there. Peruvian cities are cleaner and far more developed. Anyone who tells you Santiago is a First World developed city is lieing. I've traveled to 21 countries and Santiago and Valparaiso have been the most rundown cities I've ever seen.
briantravelman hahahahahahahaha what a fucking stupid, that shit that you mentioned, every country of this fucking planet has that kind of problems, so shut up and fuck off, ok? Thanks :) PS: you haven't even visited Chile and you talk shit PS: Peruvian cities? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA good joke, "Peruvian cities" = ONLY LIMA, and Santiago is way above Lima, just see development statistics between these 2 cities. (The 5th most important city of Chile is way above the second city of Peru, with that's what I tell you everything, so shut up)
The eastern suburbs are very clean and well developed (and expensive). The majority of Santiago isnt that clean. There are also issues with housing, sewage, public education and public healthcare, though it could be a lot worse. But as a tourist you wouldnt see any of that really because all the stuff for tourists are in downtown or Providencia/Las Condes. You might go to Recoleta, which is where the General Cemetery is, or La Vega market.
Dear Expedia, can you make vacation guides of Vancouver, Mexico City, Havana, Sao Paulo, Brussels, Munich, Zurich, Warsaw, Madrid, Barcelona, Budapest, Athens, Istanbul, Jerusalem, Marrakech, Cairo, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Beijing, Shanghai and lastly Mumbai? These are mega cities that you guys missed, I did watched all your guides and in loved with the sceneries and music! I can admit that Expedia is my favorite travel guide though :)
Thanks for the list of suggestions! We currently have a photographer in Canada right now and we had a shoot come back from Poland recently. We hope to eventually get to all these great destinations.
For some reason Santiago reminds me abit of Adelaide (South Australia), in the way art and nature play a big role in the beauty of the city. Would love to visit here someday. Thank you Expedia for making these well educated and filmed videos.
It's a beautiful city had almost everything, I lived in most major states in USA when compared Santiago is one of my favorite because it has mountains, snow, great weather, local art, history, popular retail brands, local jewelry and mainly food....😮
This video is a lie. It didn't show the homeless people, gang graffiti, informal settlements and police on every street corner. Santiago DOES have really beautiful areas, but most of the city is as I described above.
briantravelman hahahahahahahaha what a fucking stupid, that shit that you mentioned, every country of this fucking planet has that kind of problems, so shut up and fuck off, ok? Thanks :) PS: you haven't even visited Chile and you talk shit
FutHD How do you know I haven't? How is it talking shit to say the truth. If every country has these problems than that means Chile does too so you just confirmed. And not all if them have these problems. Not to this extent.
Great video, looks so different since my last time there 7 years ago! I can't believe though that you did not add Easter island at the end of the video as Chile's natural treasures.
Incredible place. Very vibrant culture and rich history. I would suggest climbing the mountain in the middle of the city and visiting the memory museum.
Great video! We loved Santiago and we used many tips from RUclips to visit the city and others places in Chile, where we also added in our own video! Thanks for the tips ! :-)
im still trying to get to know this cit, wow its amassing, i cant believe i missed this city in my south american search, wow this is a beautiful city. I am going to see it
Santiago does not have the old charme of Buenos Aires or Montevideo. Santiago appears more to be a very modern city. For sure it's the safest, cleanest and best organized city in Latin America. I always like to be there, mostly I stay in Las Condes or Vitacura.
Chile is the most developed & advanced country in Latin America i think. and thankfully as Indonesian citizen, i can visit Chile without visa. Saludos desde Indonesia 🇮🇩🇨🇱
In my opinion it is a very comfortable city, with several cultural aspects. However, economic level life for international students is a high and in safety, by day is best. And at night you must travel with great attention and care. Regards!
Santiago es diferente de las otras gran ciudades de latinoamerica, tiene paisajes hermosas y encantadoras, me parece a ciudades americanas o canadianas
You can cut all the flowers but you can't keep spring from coming! That's exactly what I was going to say!: don't count your chickens before they hatch!
It's a capital city of Chile with the nice view of art there. It really matters how the beautiful is influencing the city. The people speaks Spanish and living in Spanish culture there.
Santiago is amazing I think it's one of the best cities in Latin America
Is the best of all
Yes
noo Montevideo is the best one, then BA,Río , and Lima
Pedro Alvarez learn how to use the space bar... hey, what about Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Tijuana?? I’m from Mexico

It looks cool until you meet the shitty people. I talk from experience, chileans are worse than the chinese when it comes to hospitality.
ive been to chile once, and the people were fucking amazing.

Just like in any city and country there are some places you don't want to visit, but santiago IS actually well developed.
It isn't. I was just there. Peruvian cities are cleaner and far more developed. Anyone who tells you Santiago is a First World developed city is lieing. I've traveled to 21 countries and Santiago and Valparaiso have been the most rundown cities I've ever seen.
