Jollibee's has been open almost two years now... we've been there once and the Chocolate Sundaes were... you guessed it... Out of Stock. So we went to Baskin & Robbins.
Ritidian was my old USNavy base back in 1970 to 74. USNAVFAC Guam. Great video! Miss Guam n hope to get back soonest. Stuck in Malaysia now for employment. Wife lives in Bohol. Oldest son now with his online classes U of Cebu. Was last on Guam in 2019 assisting my old friend Jeff at Jeff’s Pirates Cove…
I remember when it was called NAVCAMS and now it is NCTAMS or something similar. It's where the new USMC base is being built. Jeff is back to being busy again, finally. Hope to get down there to see him soon and for some of his great Keleguen Salad!
@@livinginthepacific I lived in the barracks on NAVCAMS or once called NCS. But our duty station was up at Ritidian Point..the now main Center for the refuge was our Admin bld. The main guts of being an OT in the USNavy was the TE (Terminal Equipment) bld…the big one that’s now some sort of R&D place. Have many a stories about my years stationed at Ritidian. Detailer kept offering me Adak Alaska for my next duty station. Nope! I did three tours of duty at Ritidian.
Love your videos!!! We found your channel right before moving on island so now we know the restaurants to try and beaches to go to! Thank you for sharing!!
We used to camp out there in the nineteenth seventies when it was the Naval Facilities (NavFac).A lot of diving, coconut crab hunting and fishing. It is a great place.Am glad it’s a protected area now. There’s taotaomonas there esp.on the northern tip where the caves are and underground swimming hole.
I love this video 🙏 and the comments and yes, Ritidian is a beauty. And yes, no one is 100% especially in Guam and the Marianas; we’ve been visited by many from everywhere for millennia.
Randy, - ( I finally learned your name - I guess I should have asked) I loved your drone footage of Ritidian Beach! I love the white sand and aquamarine water. The dense vegetation/jungle immediately adjacent reminded me of "Castaway" (movie w/ Tom Hanks) Have you ever seen any white tip or black tip reef sharks that get trapped in the reef during low tide? I take it that the wildlife preserve is the Territories' property. I imagine that some part of the preserve borders Andersen AFB. I like how you showed the satellite image of Guam to show where you were going on the map. I just purchased a 36" x 36" map of Guam from USGS and I'm trying to find a way to get it framed without spending $350.00+
The Refuge is adjacent to the AFB, and is government managed. Juvenile Black Tip sharks are all over the reefs at certain times of the year... before they make the big swim over the reef (when they get larger).
@@livinginthepacific Randy, One other thing. How pervasive are brown tree snakes on the island? As I was watching the footage of you walking through the dense foliage of the wildlife preserve, all I could think about was how brown tree snakes are in that overhead brush.
My Filipina wife and I had kids. People said our kids were 50% Filipino. My son married a woman with both parents who were filipino. My 50% son and his 100% wife had kids. Are those kids 75% Filipino? My point is, what is 100% Filipino? The sailors on the Spanish ships were from New Spain (Mexico). Is anyone 100%?
Great Beach and storyline...
Glad you enjoyed it

Haven't seen one since I've been here. We had more snakes in Mississippi!
Haven't posted in almost a month? Hope everything's okay Randy
That beach is rocky all around
Are there any places to camp in Guam?
Yes. I see people camping all the time along the beach areas.
a God was born on that island
And he/she was probably in charge of beach creation!
life started in the crater, the sea people.
Randy is your house in the Phillipines going to be all right with this typhoon.
No problems. While not in the path this go round, it it built to take it!

I'm guessing if they love rice, fish, and Bagoong... they are Filipino, regardless of what nationality they are! 🤣 Now, if they like tacos.... 😏
