    Yeah take a bike from Sheppard and Meadowvale in Scarborough to downtown. It already takes three hours by bus.....if you are taking a bike you better start your trip the day before you need to be there.

      I read your post just now and thought the same thing. If I am going to Woodbine Racetrack on Saturday June 8th 2024 (the day after the strike day which is the 7th) I will likely have to leave home by 7 or 8am that morning in order to walk there from Jane & Weston Rd area

    In the case of a TTC strike tomorrow, park a lawn chair underground somewhere close to where you need to get, and self-impose yourself on it for 1 to 2 hours before moving on. That way, you won't feel any disruption from the TTC being on strike.

    I’m not the least bit surprised there’s discussion of alternate transportation options. After all Amalgamated Transit Union Local 113 and TTC management apparently are still far apart on terms of a tentative deal.

    The media should find the court members who decided to reinstate the workers' right to strike and ask them why

    • @jordencoles5313
      @jordencoles5313 3 месяца назад +3

      That was the government fault for how they wrote the bill if they are essential service they should have the same arbitration rights as police fire and EMS

    • @tristanridley1601
      @tristanridley1601 3 месяца назад +1

      Essential services get alternatives to striking that get them the same benefits. When you try to avoid that, it's ignoring those workers' basic rights.
      Just admit they ARE essential and bring in the arbitrators.

    If they strike it may limit grid lock on Toronto streets getting all those street cars and busses out of the way

    $40 or more an hour to drive a bus or sit in a booth and watch people go by and you think you are underpaid? TTC workers are the same as teachers they are so far out of touch with reality they don't know how good they really have things. Now get back to work.

      @@Yoopsen213 How is it fascist to pick and choose who you want to vote for? You don't seem to understand what the word "fascist" means. Maybe learn what words mean before you try to use them or you will just look foolish.

      They lose your vote for not supporting a fascist act... That doesn't look good on you.
      Never forget this is all because the government refused to class them as essential workers with automatic arbitration in place of the right to strike.
      Back to work legislation is about as authoritarian as you can get.
