    I used to live near Charles Street pond and both my mother and I independently saw the same Victorian boy playing in our back yard. I never told anyone about this because I wrote it off as my head being funny but when my mum mentioned it too it made it even more real.

    These Ghost stories were collected together in a pamphlet called like 'The Green Lady of Thorpe Hall and other Ghosts of Louth'. Do you have a copy of it? I used to read it regularly at my Grandma's House in the 70's. I found a copy in Louth Library more recently but those are the only two original copies I have seen.

    • @Seany63
      @Seany63 3 года назад

      Well mark, I got most of the stories from old newspapers and a scrapbook with photocopies from various unspecified publications. It might have included pages from the same pamphlet. Thanks for the info. I will attempt to track it down when the libraries reopen.:-)

    What about the gentleman ghost who haunts hubbards hills ? Apparently hung from the large tree opposite the old barn house at the back field .

      Yes, I was told about the ghostly gentleman fairly recently and about other spooky goings-on around Hubbards Hills. It's a beautiful place and I intend to make a video there soon. Thanks for the reminder. :-)

      @@Seany63 no problem :) it has links to witchcraft also , alongside some story about deserters in WW2 being tied to trees and flogged for cowardice before being shot although I’m unsure how true the latter part is however the 1st 2 are 100% facts although unsure about which era and dates etc 👍🏼 … I used to go to Deighton Close boarding school and that whole building is haunted not only from past spectres but also a couple of my friends in the late 90’s who hung themselves there after enduring abuse at the hands of the staff there myself included as a survivor of said abuses. It’s been shut for years now due to authorities finding out about the abuses failing to find any justice for anyone involved but just outright shutting the place down and brushing it all under the carpet.

      @@Lineandsinker87 I have heard rumours of witchcraft but I've not heard about the WW2 deserters. Really interesting thank you. I hope to get there next month work schedule permitting. As for the school, how truly terrible, so sorry you had to endure it.

    Also to let you know, there is a ghost story about the wheatsheaf pub. In the upper section in the housing area there is a ghost that plays cards and sometimes you can play against him but I've never seen it personally. So there you go. A new story for you

      @@Seany63 well the house isn't on Charles Street per se it's at the back of the pond area. Legend has it that there a horse and cart at the bottom of the pond that fell in many many years ago. Again I cannot verify any of that.
