Hi Buddy. Great to see you back on the water. Great video. Loved the footage of the jellies and dolphins. Look forward to joining you when all of this madness is over. WelshYakfish.
Another great vid, i just subscribed, can i request you do a video of your kayak and how it is setup and also of the gear your wearing, I just bought myself a kayak and hoping to get out this year and do some sea fishing so interested in the clothing I need to stay warm and dry and also getting ideas of how to setup my kayak, cheers Paul
Hi Chris, really good to see back on the game again with such good content. I wonder if you would know and be able to impart any knowledge about boat slipping in the north east. I’m Glasgow based and usually fish for salmon all over the uk, in the last couple of years a friend and I have invested in a strikeliner to use in the sea. This boat only has had a few trips on the Clyde estuary which was fun for the mackerel. I’ve tried so hard to get information on boat slips but keep getting nowhere on information. I would be looking at Dunbar to Sea horses as an example if you have any information. I’ve also looked at the kayak situation where I’m confident but my friends don’t share my confidence and would rather be a little safer in a boat. Any help is welcome and all fish will like you be returned. Best Angus
Hi Angus, glad you’re enjoying the channel. I know there is access to launch a boat a Beadnell from the beach, and there are several slips at amble, one at Blyth and one at Seaton Sluice (that will put you right next to St Mary’s/Whitley Bay). I don’t have the details for them I’m afraid but there’s a Facebook group called UK Slipway Launch Advice - they’ll be able to point you in the right direction. Alternatively just get a kayak and launch anywhere! Get your mates persuaded! 👍🎣
@@onthedropfishing I'm seriously considering getting a yak myself, a video with some hints and tips would be great! I'm just down the road from you, Teesside! I'd probably be beach launching at Redcar, Runswick bay, Sandsend.
@@arkaywat11 it’s a great sport, you wouldn’t regret it. I’m gonna do a set up vid soon so keep your eyes peeled for that Bob. There’s loads of info in the other vids on my channel as well 👍
hey mate im new to this style of fishing. what am i looking to be fishing? drop offs? i done alot of cod from the shore and on lures. so i assume more of the same but alot of big empty areas i am north east coast scotland. any tips appreciated. love the content
Hi Ben, for me it’s the “underwater islands” that fish best, basically a spot of shallower water with deeper water on three or ideally four sides. If I can’t find those then I try to drift the length of the drop off but that can be tricky depending on tide and wind. Hope that helps 👍🎣
Another enjoyable vid.. great footage with the dolphins that must have been some moment.. have to mention your reel always sounds like its full of sand! Any fly fishing trips planned
Hi Allan, yes that reel is pretty spannered now, it’s been dropped in the sea a few two many times! I’ve got some new ones now. I was at Thrunton yesterday and had a canny session on the dries in the morning then on the lures in the afternoon. I’ll be editing that soon. There’ll be more fly fishing now the summer season is finished 👍

Cheers Richard, Luckily my back seems to be okay! Kayak is more stable than it looks it’s 14 long and pretty wide so if you go with flow you’re alright. I always where a full drysuit just in case. Even in August. 👍
I imagine it would take a canny while in your boat Chris, I couldn’t say how long like to be honest. It’s 50 kilometres roughly to Whitley from Hartlepool on the water and about 100 to beadnell as the crow flies. Hope that’s of some use?
What a cracking day bud, u gotta love a Geordie:-). Couple of questions, is that the railblaza 600 camera boom up front and what fish finder u got cheers. Keep them vids coming better than Tv for a Sunday avo"!!!
Hi Nigel, yes thats the railblaza boom, its great but you will need to do your audio separately if you use one as they conduct a lot of noise. The fish finder is a Garmin Striker 4 Plus. Glad you enjoyed the vid
Hi John, it needs to be around 12-14ft long for the sea. The kayak I’m using in this video is a Galaxy Sturgeon MKII, a great, stable and relatively affordable kayak. If you go to my channel and look at my last two uploads I’m using a Sturgeon FX which is basically the pedal version of the same kayak. Remember you’ll need nearly half your budget for safety gear and other equipment 👍
No I only use 8 strand braid, just one of those days I think. I hope you’re enjoying the channel, there’s a load of vids from this year as well (this was last year) Tight lines 🎣👍
Hi Cody, on this particular vid I'm using a Hero 6 and for the sound I'm using separate system audio which consists of an H1n Digital recorder with a lav mic. I sync the sound up later in Premiere/FCPX depending which I'm using. I've just switched to a Hero 9 as the main cam now though and it's much much better. I hope that helps 👍
Hi Gerti, thanks very much, I’m glad you like the channel. My drysuit is a Typhoon PS330 Extreme Drysuit. I’d say Typhoon are the best in my opinion 👍
@@onthedropfishing That footage is excellent.
